What is the System Inventory Tool 4 The System Inventory Tool is a self-service tool that HPS customers install on Experion Flex Station or an Experion Console Station to collect asset data consisting of L1 (controllers and I/O modules), L2 (PCs), and network switches qualified by Honeywell. The collection times can be configured to in the settings, and Experion support goes back to R310 The inventory tool generates an inventory file (.cab) that users upload to the System Inventory Portal to see their inventory details in a logical and graphical overview. Complimentary from Honeywell for current Experion PKS customers, the System Inventory Tool and Portal are available via with site registration - the same login you use for the Spare Parts Online Store and your Support Community.

Running the System Inventory Tool - Configure 12 Running the System Inventory Tool is as simple as starting it from the Start Menu. From there you can configure, schedule / run, monitor status, and gather output. Configure allows you to configure system devices

Running the System Inventory Tool - Configure 13 Configure allows you to configure system devices, which you ll do before you run a scan. 1. After the scan is complete all found devices will be shown 2. The yellow icon next to the Systems in the device tree indicate areas that are missing information. You must assign names and resolve issues before moving on. 3. Every bolded entry, except for Do Not Process, in the System Devices list shown below, requires a System Name and MSID. Select one of the branches, then enter the System Name and MSID in the provided textboxes that appear to the right of the System Devices list. 4. In addition to configuring the bolded entries, devices that have not been associated with systems may be moved and sorted into other systems. More details are outlined in the installation and user s guide.

Running the System Inventory Tool - Configure 14 Users may select an asset (host name or host type) and drag to a different system/cluster. SIT will remember the change the next time the device scan is run. Nodes with Honeywell assets on them (h/w or s/w) can NOT be moved to Do Not Process, as shown on the previous slide.

Running the System Inventory Tool Schedule / Run 15 Once the all the systems have been configured and saved, Schedule / Run will become available as shown You ll set the day, time and frequency in weeks once set, you save it and either select Run Now, or wait for the scheduled run to begin.

Running the System Inventory Tool Monitor Status 17 The Monitor Status page shows all the systems that have a System Inventory data collector installed and the status of the inventory files produced by System Inventory. The date corresponds to the newest inventory file collected for that system. There are three possible status icons: A green icon with a checkmark indicates the latest inventory file is less than five weeks old A yellow icon with an exclamation point indicates the latest inventory file is less than three months old, or that the data collector has not been installed A red icon with an x indicates the latest inventory file is older than three months or there are no inventory files available.

Running the System Inventory Tool Gather Output 18 After everything has been configured and you ve run a collection, the last step is to gather output.

Running the System Inventory Tool Gather Output 19 Under Select Results, select a date in the drop-down list. There are two dates available, the first available date corresponds to the most recent set of inventory files, and the second available date corresponds to the second latest set of inventory files as shown here. The default location to store the inventory files is the logged in users Documents folder. To choose a different location select the Browse button and then navigate to the desired folder. When complete, click Save and the compressed [.CAB] file will be saved in the specified location.
