Your local Schenker agent is able to assist in this regard. Please note if a Carnet is not obtained then (1) Australian Customs will require a bond of up to 25% of their assessed value of the boat and trailer and (2) A vehicle import for the trailer will be required. Note Well If a Carnet is obtained by the shipper then it is not necessary to apply for a permit to import a trailer. If a Carnet is not obtained it is compulsory that a permit be obtained before the trailer departs for Australia 2

3 6 Importation of Trailers IF a Carnet is not obtained it is compulsory that an application to import a vehicle must be lodged with the Department of Regional Services in Australia. This permit must be obtained prior to the trailer leaving its home port. Cost of this application is AUD$ Any member requiring assistance with this application should contact David De Coster or Robert Fielding directly. Their contact details are included above. Should owners need to make an application to import a trailer (even temporarily) please supply the following details. Owner: Address: Telephone: Country: Trailer Registration No: Trailer VIN: Trailer Builder: Date Built Trailer Weight: Trailer + Boat Weight: 7 Quarantine It is compulsory that any WOODEN YACHTS OR YACHTS WITH WOODEN COMPONENTS must be fumigated prior to entry into Australia. It is recommended that owners arrange to have this undertaken with their local Schenker Agent prior to departure. A compliance certificate will be issued in your home country which will form part of the shipping documentation. Even if the yacht has been fumigated prior to shipment, it is essential that the yacht and equipment are dry, clean and free of sand and fauna. If it is found to be contaminated, the boat, trailer and equipment may have to be steam cleaned at additional cost to the owner. If a certificate is not obtained prior to departure the boat will be required to undergo this process in Australia. 3

Customs Clearances will occur at the Schenker Warehouse. Due 4

5 to available space it will be necessary to move the yachts into storage as soon as possible after clearances have been completed. 16 Local Transport Australian Association members will assist in taking yachts to Storage. This will be done at nominal cost. However if specialist transport is required charges will be passed on to owners. We will co-ordinate local transport with Schenker and will advise members once shipping details are known for each boat. t.b.a. All efforts will be made to ensure that these costs are kept to a minimum. 17 Storage A number of options for storage of yachts is being developed and will be placed on the website. 18 Trailer Please provide the information requested in respect of trailers. RETURN SHIPMENTS Storage of Trailer during the regatta will be in a car park of a school within walking distance of the RSYS. This storage will be at a nominal cost to be advised. A number of options are being explored for the efficient packing of boats into containers at the conclusion of the regatta. These plans will be advised to owners as soon as they are completed. 5
