14 Data Collection & Elaboration SUGAR training participants have seen different motives for collecting / elaborating data: - Monitoring key indicators. (e.g.: evolution of spaces) - Developing and assessing measures - Benefits/costs estimations (for scheme justification) - Understanding the impacts of specific logistics chains - Modelling and longer-term land-use planning

15 Conclusions Conclusions 1. The pack of tools used in SUGAR has facilitated the definition of good UGD practices and their transfer. 2. Participants with different profile benefit from the training and/or validate their knowledge. 3. Transport Engineering and Enforcement AND PARTNERSHIPS are needed to optimise Urban Goods Distribution (UGD). 4. Using a life-cycle scheme the SUGAR Guide enables practitioners to appreciate when and where to work up those measures that involve other stakeholders, and hence develop Pacts that promote UGD excellence.
