4 Factor 3 Understanding the Skills Required in the Targeted Industries and Occupations The knowledge, skill and credential requirements for each of the 19 targeted occupations are summarized below in Table 5. It is important to note the similarities in the core industry credentials required by many different occupations, making it logical to better integrate industry credentials within postsecondary curricula so that individuals can obtain the foundational knowledge and skills that will prepare them for further learning, career movement, and credential attainment.
