The LBR iiwa is the world s first seriesproduced lightweight production assistant suitable for use in industrial applications. Its integrated torque sensors enable the automation of delicate assembly tasks for force-controlled joining operations and process monitoring. Axis positions can be optimized and the robot can move round disruptive contours and reach positions that are difficult to access. Thanks to its light weight and easy programming by means of manual guidance, the LBR iiwa is perfectly suited to operation in variable locations and as a mobile job-hopper.

For the first time, the LBR iiwa enables safe human-robot collaboration, completely without the need for expensive, spaceintensive safety fences. Thanks to its integrated torque sensors, implemented using safe technology, it can respond sensitively in all seven axes in the event of collisions. Additional safety functions, such as safely monitored velocity, safe monitoring spaces and force monitoring, are also available.

By taking into consideration its torque sensors during path control, with a cycle rate measured in milliseconds, the LBR iiwa has extremely smooth, jerk-free motion characteristics. This means that even demanding, highprecision tasks can be automated and implemented. Using its integrated sensors, the LBR iiwa automatically masters itself without the need for additional measuring devices.
