A broad area of low pressure is expected to develop over the west-central Caribbean Sea in a day or two. This system is expected to move slowly westward toward Central America through early next week. Environmental conditions are forecast to support some slow development, however, interaction with land could limit the chance of formation once the system approaches Central America on Monday or Tuesday. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent.

Tonight s Forecast Tonight s Lows Tonight s Rain Chances The cold front will have moved through much of North Florida tonight, which will leave lows pleasantly cool under clear skies. Temperatures in the northern part of the state will settle in the upper 50s to middle 60s. For North Florida, expect north winds of 5-10mph and gusts to 15-20mph at the coast.

Tomorrow s Forecast Friday High Temperatures Friday Rain Chances For North Florida, expect sunny skies and cooler temperatures, with max daytime highs only reaching the low 80s in the Panhandle. In the Big Bend, highs will reach the low to mid 80s in the afternoon, with the warmest temperatures near the coast. With low humidity, heat index values should not exceed 85 degrees. Winds will be out of the north at 5-10mph with gusts to 15 mph.

Due to heavy rain from Michael, minor river flooding is expected this weekend on the Chipola, Apalachicola and lower Choctawhatchee Rivers. Flooding is currently being reported on Econfina Creek in Bay County.

Flooding on the Apalachicola River at Blountstown should be confined to boat ramps and campgrounds. John Redd Road in Calhoun County will begin to flood one half mile west of the boat landing. On the Choctawhatchee at Bruce, portions of Big Cedar, Cowford, and Choctawhatchee River Roads in Walton County are impassible and structures in the area not elevated begin flooding. Portions of Choctaw Road in Washington County begin to flood along with Strickland Road in the far southwestern portion of the county.

At Altha, water will reach the highway 274 bridge and approach the road, and water will start to affect houses and mobile homes in the flood plain downstream from CR274. Lamb Eddy Road near the boat ramp will flood. Downstream affects at Wewahitchka will depend on the amount of water coming from the Chipola and Apalachicola Rivers. On the Chipola at Marianna, flooding is mostly confined to boat ramps and low lying areas near the Florida Caverns.
