3 Daily Planning Cycle Is it going to flood today or tomorrow or the next day? Check weather forecasts/outlook and assess potential for a; Rainfall event Snowmelt event Frazil ice event High lake level event or a combination of the above Check for active weather warnings or provincial warnings from MNR. Access the need to complete model runs to size up situation. Check monitoring network to confirm conditions and equipment operation. Check reservoir and flow conditions and take appropriate actions. Assess weather to deploy flood patrol officers and observers and confirm the duty roster for the day and secure additional resources if needed.

Extranet MNR site 5-day 5 weather maps and 3 day precipitation maps Environment Canada s s daily forecast, warnings and special weather statements faxed to office The Weather Network 6 day outlook for the local area includes hourly temperatures, wind speed and direction and probability of precipitation. Intellicast radar and radar accumulations Depending on the season hurricane tracks from the NOAA or Intellicast sites.
