COLUMBUS SCHOOL Dakshinpuri, New Delhi 62 HOLIDAY HOMEWORK (SUMMER VACATION) SESSION: CLASS- III INTEGRATED PROJECT NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES 1 Find out any 5 neighbouring countries of India. a) Make a project file (beautifully handmade) naming NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES OF INDIA and include the following points :- Culture and Customs Food Habits Language Spoken Tourists Attraction Paste the pictures related to the above mentioned points. b) Locate the 5 neighbouring countries and their capitals on a physical map of India and colour the map with tricolor (Paste it in your file). c) Write their names and make a collage using pictures of the flags of neighbouring countries. Also, write the number and names of the shapes used inside each of the flag. d) Write the names and paste the pictures of the currencies of 5 neighbouring countries. Also, mention about the Rate of Population and 2-2 popular things of these countries. ( Do it in Hindi) Do the above work on A-4 size sheets. ENGLISH 1. Read any one story and make a report book with the following topics (On A4 size sheets). Design the cover page also. Name of the Book Name of the Author Main Characters of the Story Your favourite character and why is it your favourite? Moral of the story 2. Dreams are a very important part of a person s life. They take us closer to the world which is different for us to achieve in real. Express a dream of yours using pictures and write a paragraph about it in 100 words. 3. Read English Newspaper Daily and find out 5 new words and their meanings in scrapbook. 4. Cut 26 circles in equal sizes starting with a different alphabet (A to Z). Write an action word and a sentence using that word on the circle. Arrange the circles in alphabetical order. Join the circles and represent it in a form of book.(use coloured sheets). 5. Write one page of cursive writing daily in your cursive writing book from Pg 5 to Pg 62.

Learn Roman Numerals from 1 to 50 and write it in holiday homework notebook. 4. Make a number line from the year of your birth to the current year and answer the following questions. 3 EVS 1. Imagine yourself as anyone of the animal and one bird whose activities you love to watch. According to that animal or a bird describe your home in few sentences. You can include the following points: Draw a picture of your shelter. Name of your shelter.(e.g,-bird nest) How and where do you make your shelter? What is special in your home and why you like it? With whom you want to live? Which activities do you like to do there? ( Do it on A-4 size sheets) 2. Children, as you know it s too hot now a days. To ensure general health of your family, you should make sure to increase the intake of water. Suggest five measures to take water in different ways during the day. Write the recipe of two health drinks. ( Do it in holiday homework notebook ) 3. There are five traffic training parks in Delhi, visit any one of them. Make a poster depicting all the traffic sign and what they indicate.( On A-3 size sheet) Paste actual picture of your visit in your scrap book and write down two/three lines on what you observe there. 4. Make a First Aid Box with a Red Cross on it having the following First Aid Tools bandage, antiseptic cream, band-aid, medicines, thermometer, scissors, cotton, antiseptic lotion etc. COMPUTER 1. Make a collage on Input and Output devices on half of cartridge sheet(any colour). You can use old books and magazines for informations and pictures. 2. Write names of various tools of MS PAINT on A4 size sheet and draw an attractive poster on GLOBAL WARMING Or CLEAN EARTH-GREEN EARTH by using various tools of MS PAINT and bring the printout in your holiday homework folder. 3. Differentiate between Hardware and Software on the basis of their definitions. Write different types of Hardware and Software along with their pictures in your scrapbook G.K 1. Write names of any 10 states of India with their capitals. Paste pictures of famous tourist attractions of these states, write two lines on each in your scrapbook. 2. Watch movie The Jungle Book. Draw picture of your favourite character and write few lines on it in your scrapbook.
