3 Introduction This code of Practice have been prepared in accordance with legislation and resolutions previously adopted and before the stage of restructuring and on the conditions of Multiple Electrical Energy Meters for a single building, as well as the restructuring phase under Royal Decree (78/2004), in accordance with the Distribution license granted to the company on May 1, Has been prepared for the regulation and standardization of procedures in all company offices in various regions of the three licensed- (South Batinah, Al Shrqiyah, and Al Dakhliyah). 4 5

4 General conditions Installation of all Energy Meters for simple connections in the outer wall (wall) for houses on the height of one meter of the Earth s surface in special Meter Panel Board located of premises fronting the entrance to the street (see Figure 1), which obviates the need to obtain permission if you need to read or maintenance or inspection or replacement Energy Meter/Meters, with the exception of large and complex connections (Governments Connections; large commercial connections, residential/commercial, investment projects, industrial connections, and or any other connections under this heading) are dealt With according to the type and conditions of delivery and under the conditions and technical specifications adopted by the company. 5 The company has full rights to choose the type of Energy Meter you want and specify the number of Energy Meters to any premises subject to the conditions and technical specifications of accredited, taking into account the amount of energy to be connected. Should the premises owner before work began with internal wiring and installation of the Energy Meter to any premises take professional advice from the corporate office of Company and approve electrical mapping The company has the right to refuse a request for electricity for any premises if it considers that internal connections violated the specifications approved by the approved maps In the case of the discovery of a additional loads on previous connection without the prior written permission of the company, the company has the right to disconnect service for premises and on the Consumer with any consequences that may result from illegal addition loads affected service cable or disruptions in the Energy Meter, as well as penalties against him, such as energy charges.... The Energy Meter installed to any premises is the proprietor of the company and is adopting it after connection, as well as for external Service cable, and on the Consumer to allow company staff specialists inspect the internal wiring and read the Energy Meters and maintained at all times (reasonable). the Customer has the right to request from the employee ID card to prove his character profile The common costs of the replacement Energy Meters installed inside his premises or repair damage which affected the Meters on purpose or by negligence or Tampering, and should inform the company about any defect or damage observed. Accordance to approved penalties from (Authority of Electricity Regulatory -Oman) against Energy Meters Tampering and any modified later on in this purpose the customer should pay Tampering Penalties: - ( OMR) for single-phase Energy Meter - ( OMR) for Three Phase Energy Meter & - ( OMR) for Three Phase Energy Meter with C.T - If any damage or defect not happened by customers negligence or Tam pering, the maintenance of Energy Meter or replace by com pany at its own expense 8 9

6 In the case of the Customer complaint of inaccuracy of Energy Meter; should pay testing fee ( OMR), and not return back in the absence of confirmed failure of Energy Meter. The licensee Electricians for electrical wiring installations by the MZEC company or one of the other corporations licensed companies (Muscat Electricity Distribution company, Majan Electricity company, Rural Areas Company), responsible for the wiring of the premises and the consequent technical irregularities, and the company they determine irregularities application of punishment either arrested temporarily or revoke the license to practice or inform the issued licensee if not Mazoon Electricity Company for appropriate action, and bring such irregularities to Senior Operation Manager in each region for appropriate decision according to the type of violation. 7 Residential, Commercial/ Commercials Connections Allows multiple Energy Meters to residential, commercial/ commercials premises after taking written approvals from the Office of the company that serves the region/district in accordance with technical requirements. Commercial tariffs apply to all commercial connections without exception Agricultures & Fisheries Connections Allows multiple Energy Meters to agricultural connections in the following cases: - Separation of user consumption of areas covered by the reduced electric ity unit for the agricultural sector (Agricultural tariff) from the consumption of other areas (homes, offices, or any other purposes in the holdings and agricultural enterprises and the fish) - Residential premises with large areas and buildings widely spaced spaces result in low voltage due to service cable lengths result Beneficiaries of Agricultural Tariffs are: - Customers/Consumers who have productive farms of agricultural holdings - Customers /Consumers who own cooler and ice factories to save fish - Agricultural ; Animals livestock and fishery projects Areas covered by the Agricultural Tariff: - Modern irrigation systems and pumps and agricultural projects and protected crops - Projects fish keeping industry Actions necessary to benefit from agricultural tariffs: - Get recommendation letter from Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries after fulfilling the above-mentioned actions required - Separate the consumption of agricultural areas referred to above from residential use for connecting offices or any other purpose in the same holdings Exempt from this requirement for Agricultural Tariff; farms and agricultural & fisheries projects which does not exceed the total consumption of 4000 kw hours per month

8 Tourist Connections Allows multiple Energy Meters to tourist buildings after taking written approvals from the Office of the company that serves the region/district in accordance with technical requirements. Actions necessary to benefit from the tariff: - Obtain a letter of recommendation letter from the Ministry of Commerce and industry To take advantage of tariff industrial manufacturers must: - Obtain a letter of recommendation letter from the Ministry of Commerce and industry - Installation of consumptions regulators(capacitors Bank) and Power Factor Meter, so at least the Power factor in all cases not less than (0.9) - Tariff applies from the first month following the company s approval - The applicant shall provide the technical specifications of the proposed new equipment installed or added to existing plants in the factory. Industrials Connections Allows multiple Energy Meters for factories after taking written approvals from the Office of the company that serves the region/ district in accordance with technical requirements. Applied industrial tariffs on factories consumptions only & do not apply to homes, offices and other facilities within the industrial facility 14 15
