1 + UDOT Project No.: F-21 (29) N SR-21/SR-22 ntersection Realignment and Signal = :: 1-= :::: 2---oc. 4 ===== ::J 6 -- t iles PN UDOT proposes to reconstruct the southern portion of SR-22 on a ne alignment and construct a ne intersection of SR-22 ith SR-21 in Salt Lake County. The ne SR-22 alignment ill be located to the est of the existing alignment from approximate Mile Post (MP). to MP.7. Construction on SR-21 ill be located beteen approximate MP 2.3 and MP 3.5. Total project length ill be approximately 1.8 miles. The project ill include: ne roaday construction on approximately 5 feet (above existing grade) of suitable roaday fill materials; construction of a ne culvert crossing of the existing canal and other drainage system improvements (i.e. curb and gutter, drop inlets, piping and minor cross culverts); relocation/modification of existing utilities; and barrier placement as needed. The proposed intersection construction ill include: installation of ne signals and associated hardare; installation of ne signal conduit; and installation of ne detection systems. The location of the ne intersection ill be coordinated ith Rio Tintos concurrent effort to modify internal circulation of and primary access to the facilities in this area. The existing SR-21\SR-22 intersection ill be removed and the abandoned portion of the existing SR-22 alignment ill be term inated at a ne cul-de-sac configuration. The project ill also include: re-grading of existing unpaved shoulders, modification/relocation of existing utilities; installation of ne pavement markings, delineators and roaday signage; and obliteration of limited portions of the abandoned SR-21 alignment. Acquisition of Right-of-Way ill be required for the construction of the proposed project.
