Overview of CO-GISTICS pilots CO-GISTICS Final Event Trieste, 8-9 June 2017

CO-GISTICS services overview Intelligent Truck Parking and Delivery Areas Management (ITP/DAM) Eco-drive support CO2 Footprint Monitoring and Estimation Priority and Speed Advice Cargo Transport Optimization

Arad The Arad pilot site focused on HGV fleet operations. The provided solution is targeted both at truck drivers (by means of an OBU) and at fleet dispatchers (by means of a web application built around GIS services provided by HERE). CO-GISTICS services are offered: Intelligent Truck Parking which allows the driver to choose an optimally situated parking spot and insert it into its itinerary. Eco-drive Support, providing real-time recommendations to drivers to increase efficiency as provided by T-Systems LCMM. CO2 Footprint Estimation and Monitoring based on real-time GPS data and truck characteristics (as provided by T-Systems LCMM).

Arad Speed Advice and taking into account mandatory rest intervals and speed restrictions at the macro level, by using GIS routing and traffic services (as provided by HERE Map Services) in order to compute and recommend emission-efficient speeds in the presence of delivery deadlines. Cargo Transport Optimization including the real-time tracking and permanent logging of the trip, enabling post-trip analysis and subsequent process optimizations.

Bilbao Bilbao pilot site is mainly dedicated to the last-mile delivery services within urban areas. CO-GISTICS services: Intelligent Truck Parking and Delivery Areas Management (ITM/DAM). Different technologies (from license plate recognition cameras to a mobile application) are implemented to monitor the occupancy of the loading zones and provide real time information about their status to the freight drivers.

Bilbao Eco-drive support, to assist driver on-trip with the aim of influencing on their driving behaviour and reduce fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions. CO 2 footprint monitoring and estimation that will provide the footprint of the routes. Eco-drive support and CO2 footprint monitoring and estimation services are provided thought the LCMM application.

Bordeaux Bordeaux used the horizontal core services AEON Solution and HERE Solution (Maps-Route Solution) to cover the CO-GISTICS services: Priority and Speed Advice (micro level) This service called GLOSA (Green Light Optimal Speed Advisory) reduces stop times, number of stops and unnecessary acceleration in urban traffic situations to save fuel and reduce emissions. Cargo Transport Optimization: Delivery control Good delivery Road events and goods delivery monitoring Goods tracking service: wine application

Bordeaux CO2 Footprint Estimation and Monitoring This estimation of CO 2 footprint emissions is computed from vehicle information and time/positioning information or from the HERE itinerary calculator to estimate the distance between two delivery points. Estimation of CO 2 emission calculator - for several reasons a user may want to calculate the CO 2 footprint of goods it manages. He might also want to compare the CO 2 footprint between different modes of transport it can use. This permits him to choose the most suitable method.

Frankfurt CO-GISTICS services: Eco-drive support, to assist driver on-trip with the aim of influencing on their driving behaviour and reduce fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions.

Frankfurt CO 2 footprint estimation and monitoring that will provide the routes footprint. Eco-drive support and CO2 footprint monitoring and estimation services are provided thought the LCMM for CO-GISTICS solution by T-Systems. The following on-trip and post-trip functionalities are provided: advising drivers on-trip about the efficiency of their driving style by a visual colour system displayed in the screen of the mobile Android device allowing drivers and fleet operator post-trip analysis of the efficiency of the routes estimating fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions and other indexes.

Thessaloniki The Thessaloniki pilot monitors a total of 10 trucks from SeaWay Forwarder & Logistics SA who is responsible for the distribution of cargo to various locations within Thessaloniki (urban part of the pilot) and the surrounding areas (interurban part). In that way, the pilot in Thessaloniki provides the opportunity to deploy and pilot CO-GISTICS services in a multimodal environment of cargo transportation. The involved services are: Priority and Speed advice by EEIS (micro level)

Thessaloniki CO 2 footprint monitoring and estimation Eco-Drive support services

Thessaloniki Cargo Transport Optimization Proof of Delivery, only for the urban part of the pilot. The information concerning the vehicle s speed, fuel consumption etc. are gathered by an On Board Unit while information to the driver will be displayed on tablets that are handed to the drivers. The user can then select to view the details of deliveries and can choose and report on actual delivery.

Trieste The Trieste pilot site deployed cooperative logistics services in order to enhance the resources productivity, to reduce freight transport operational costs and negative externalities. All the five CO-GISTICS services are implemented: Intelligent Truck Parking (ITP) - The ITP service in the Trieste pilot site is executed in the specific context of the Interporto di Trieste dry-port (i.e., ex-fernetti) and foresees the introduction of a new ICT solution for the electronic parking payment.

Trieste Eco-drive Support and CO 2 footprint monitoring and estimation In the Trieste pilot site, the Eco-drive Support and the CO 2 footprint monitoring and estimation services are implemented together with the local fleet operator Autamarocchi.

Trieste Cargo Transport Optimisation (CTO) and Speed Advice (Macro level) In the Trieste pilot site, the trucks tracking operations are performed exploiting the pre-existing Autovie Venete DGMS for the trucks license plates detection. A Speed Advice app to suggest dynamically to the truck drivers the speed necessary to reach the destination in time is proposed.

Vigo CO-GISTICS services are implemented in the city of Vigo through short range communication (G5), in urban environment through signalized intersections where such service coverage is available, and through 3G/4G communication using T-systems application LCMM. CO-GISTICS services are offered: Priority and Speed advice (micro level and priority) The priority is granted providing an increased time of green light in a route under conditions defined by the road operator and the city authority to authorized trucks.

Vigo Eco-Drive support At interurban environment and non G5 equipped urban areas this service is provided by LCMM application installed on nomadic device (smartphone or tablet pc) which also display the other CO-GISTICS services. The driver use the LCMM real time feedback (red, orange or green, from less to more efficient) based in GPS data, to adapt his driving behaviour to a more efficient driving. CO 2 footprint estimation and monitoring Depending on the availability of CAN-BUS in the trucks selected to participate in the pilot of Vigo, this service will work by: Direct CAN-BUS reading by CTAG datalogger of the fuel consumption signal, when CAN-BUS available. LCMM application estimation when CAN -BUS is not available.
