4 Safety Precautions A. Please do not open the back cover or the soundbar cover. The lighting flash symbol is to alert the user to the presence of uninsulated "dangerous voltage" within product's enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. Please refer to qualified service personnel with any issues. B. Please protect the power cord and plug. Avoid high pressure, force, pulling or pushing of the power cord/plug. C. The product is designed for indoor use only. Please do not place the product in windy, sunny or heat emitting surrounds. Please do not place the product in a sealed box without any ventilation. Ventilation is required for preventing excessive heat and any damage to the unit from it. D. Slots and openings in the unit cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure reliable operation of the product preventing any damage from excessive heating. The openings should never be blocked. E. To prevent fire or shock hazards do not expose the apparatus to rain or liquids or any external materials. No filling of external substances should be allowed at anytime. F. The product is designed to Australian Standards for operation and safety. Please ensure the input voltage is AC 240V/50Hz. If you are unsure about the power supply please consult your dealer or local power company. 01

Heed Warning-All warnings on the appliance and in the operating instructions should be adhered to. 05. Power Source-The appliance should be connected to power supply for only the type specified in the operating instruction or as marked on the appliance. 06. Power Cord Protection-Power supply cords should be routed such that they are not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them. Pay particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles and the point where they exit from the appliance. 07. Water and Moisture - The appliance should not be exposed to water, rain or moisture to prevent fire or shock hazards. No filling of liquids should be allowed at anytime. 08. Ventilation-The appliance should be situated so that its location or position does not interfere with its proper ventilation.do not use the appliance on a bed,sofa,rug or similar surface that may block the ventilation openings. 09. Heat-Keep the appliance away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers,stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that produce heat. 10. Non-use Periods-The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from the outlet when left unused for a long period of time. 11. Damage Requiring Service-The appliance should be serviced by qualified service personnel only when: a. The power-supply cord or plug has been damaged. b. Objects have fallen or liquid has been spilled into the appliance. c. The appliance has been exposed to rain. d. The appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance. e. The appliance has been dropped, or the enclosure damaged. 12. Servicing-The user should not attempt to service the appliance beyond that specified in the operating instruction.all other servicing should be referred to qualified service personnel. 13. The centre and front loudspeaker are designed to operate on full-frequency range which produces the centre and front channel sounds. The surround sound loudspeaker is designed to operate on full-frequency ranges and its phase control crossover to the centre & front phase control enhances the surround sound effect. Meanwhile the soundbar built-in controller and audio control circuit board is designed so all the functions can be controlled by the front panel or remote control. 10 Bluetooth Operation Mobile Phone ipad 1. Select the input to "Bluetooth" mode 2. Enable bluetooth mode on your device and search for bluetooth device "KINMA9" and select for connection 3. No password is required for connection 4. A beep sound from the soundbar will confirm the device is connected successfully 5. You may now listen to your preferred content/music from your device 07

12 Subwoofer Output Operation 1. Connect active subwoofer input to the soundbar SW OUT port via RCA cable as per the connection diagram shown above 09

17 HDMI Operation TV HD Player HDMI OUTPUT HDMI INPUT 1. Connect your device with HDMI cable as per above picture to external device or TV 2. Change "input" to "ARC 3. Adjust the volume for each channel separately Please note: 1) Connect a suitable ARC enabled HDMI cable to ARC enable HDMI port on your TV. Please turn on/enable the ARC function on your TV 2) When connecting other HDMI devices to the soundbar input, please select relevant source HDMI from TV (which is connected to the soundbar) and change soundbar input to relevant HDMI source (HDMI 1/2) 3) Depending on your TV model & settings you may find all sound defaults to the soundbar and you may or may not be able to use TV remote control for controlling the sound. Use soundbar remote for controlling the sound, if all sound defaults to the soundbar and TV remote is not usable for controlling sound. 14

18 Installation Steps There are two options for installation of the soundbar unit as per below. Option 1: Mounting on the wall Option 2: Installing on a TV stand/ Entertainment unit Wall mounting installation steps: 1. Mark mounting distance appropriately on the wall 2. Drill the holes & fix the mounting bracket (as supplied to the wall) 3. Screw the mounting plate to the soundbar (if not pre-fitted) 4. Mount the soundbar to the installed brackets on the wall Note: Please ensure its a two person lift to prevent any injury or harm to yourself or damage to the soundbar Please contact us at support@smate.com.au for professional installation of your soundbar ensuring best audio experience 15

20 Installing Batteries to the Remote Control Please insert AAA batteries into the remote control. Make sure the (+) side and the (-) side are installed correctly. When you are installing the battery, the remote's backside should be facing up. After installing the batteries correctly, please re-attach the battery cover. Please note: * Only use AAA batteries. * Inserting the batteries incorrectly may also result in cracking or leakage that may pose a ire risk or lead to personal injury. * Dispose the batteries in accordance with local laws and regulations. * Keep the batteries away from children and pets. * If the remote control is not used for a long time, remove the batteries. * Keep the remote control away from moisture, sunlight, and high temperatures. Using the Remote Control * To use the remote control, point it towards the remote sensor at the front of the soundbar. * The remote control has a range of up to approximately five metres (7m) from the soundbar at an angle of up to 30 degrees each to the right and left of the sensor. * The remote control will not operate if its path is blocked. NOTE: * Do not drop, step on or otherwise impact the remote control as this may damage the parts or lead to a malfunction. * The operating distance may vary according to the brightness of the room. * Do not point bright lights at the remote control sensor. * Do not place objects between the remote control and the remote control sensor. * Do not use this remote control while simultaneously operating a remote control of other devices. Remote Control Preparation * Install the batteries in the back of the remote control, ensuring to match up the polarity markings (+/-). * The batteries should last for around one year. The service life of the batteries will depend on how often they are used. * If the remote control does not work when operated near the soundbar, replace the batteries. NOTE: * Remove the batteries if the remote control is not going to be used for a long time. 17

21 Support The following terms and conditions relate to the warranty of Smate products purchased within Australia ONLY. Consumer product warranty When you purchase a Smate product, you have the peace of mind in knowing that your product is covered by Smate's Standard Warranty. The Smate Standard Warranty is provided by Smart Group Technologies Australia PTY. LTD. (ABN ). General terms and conditions 1.1 The benefits given to you in Smate's Standard Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies you have under law in relation to the products to which Smate's Standard Warranty relates. The following statement only applies to Australian purchases: Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. 1.2 Subject to section 1.1 and the terms below, as your Standard Warranty Smate agrees to repair or replace at Smate's cost the Smate product, and any Smate accessory supplied with the product, purchased by you in Australia from Smate's website or from a Smate Authorised Dealer when the product does not perform in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications during the Warranty Term specified for the product in the warranty 'Table 1', commencing from the date of purchase. Special Conditions apply under the Standard Warranty to some products as identified in Table To make a claim under the Standard Warranty you will need to: a) provide proof of purchase to Smart Group Technologies Australia showing the date of purchase of the products, provide a description of the Products and the price paid for the Products by sending written notice to Smart Group Technologies Australia at PO BOX 201, Seven Hills, NSW 1730, Australia or by lodging an online claim by filling out the contact us form or by at support@smate.com.au. 1.4 Where the Warranty Claim is accepted then Smart Group Technologies Australia will, at its sole discretion, either repair or replace any defective Products or part thereof with a new or remanufactured equivalent during the Warranty Period at no charge to you for parts or labour. You acknowledge and agree that you will be solely liable for any postage or shipping costs incurred in facilitating the Warranty Claim. 1.5 If the product presented for repair is capable of retaining user-generated data, you are advised that repair of the product may result in loss of the data. 1.6 The product will be at the owner's risk whilst in transit to and from the Smate Authorised Service Centre, unless transported by Smate or its Authorised representatives. 1.7 Smate will bear the expense of transport where transported by Smate or its Authorised representatives. Any other expense of claiming the warranty will be borne by you. 1.8 Smate and its Authorised Service Centres may seek reimbursement of any costs incurred by them when the product is found to be in good working order. 18

22 Support General exclusions and limitations 2.0 To the full extent permitted by law, but subject always to 1.1, the Standard Warranty will not apply: 2.1 If the product has not been installed, operated, maintained or used in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions or specifications provided with the product. 2.2 If the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from the product. 2.3 To damage, malfunction or failure resulting from alterations, accident, misuse, abuse, fire, liquid spillage, mis-adjustment of customer controls, use on an incorrect voltage, power surges and dips, thunderstorm activity, acts of God, voltage supply problems, tampering or unauthorised repairs by any persons, use of defective or incompatible accessories, the operation of a computer virus of any kind, exposure to abnormally corrosive conditions or entry by any insect, vermin or foreign object in the product. 2.4 To damage arising during transportation, installation or while moving the product, or to any transportation costs of the product or any parts thereof to and from the owner, unless otherwise specified in these Warranty Terms. 2.5 To any third-party software or hardware not contained in the product as originally configured by the manufacturer. 2.6 To any failure, to the extent that the failure is not a failure of the product to perform in accordance with its specifications. 2.7 To service of any product whilst it is outside Australia. 2.8 To any wear and tear if the product is used in commercial, industrial, educational or rental applications. 2.9 To the normal incidence of off-coloured or dark pixels in LCD and LED screens as described in the User Manual for the product. Smate will only repair or replace the product if there are (a) 8 or more dark pixels in the screen (unless 2 or more are adjoining dark pixels) or (b) 2 or more bright pixels in the screen. 3.0 To the full extent permitted by law but subject always to section 1.1: 3.1 Smate will not be liable for any loss, damage or alterations to (1) third party hardware or software; or (2) programs, data or information stored on any media or any part of the product, no matter how occurring; or (3) for any loss or damage arising from loss of use, loss of profits or revenue, or for any resulting indirect or consequential loss or damage. 24 LIMITATIONS OF WARRANTY Damage resulting from accidents,misuse,abuse,alteration,tempering or failure of the purchase to follow the normal operating procedure outlined in user manual. Defect of damage due to spillage of liquids,due to insect or wrong use of electrical supply and voltage. Normal wear and tear,corrosion,rusting or stains. Scratches and damage to outer surface areas and externally exposed units or parts that are due to normal customer use. Claim for damaged/missing parts after seven days from the original date of purchase. If any part or parts of the unit are replaced with a part or parts not supplied or approved by company or unit has been dismantled or repaired by any person other than authorized technician. Product which has serial number removed or tampered. If the warranty card is being altered,defaced or erased in any manner whatsoever.
