6 Houston Key Commodities Existing Strengths Growing Opportunities Plastic resin (Ex) Machinery (Im/Ex) Containerized chemicals (Im/Ex) Stone and tile (Im) Beverages (Im) Reefer cargo (Im/Ex) Inbound Asia retail goods

7 Smart Inland Supply Chain via Houston East Coast/West Coast Import Strategy = Long supply chains and high inland transportation costs into South Central U.S. Adding a Texas Import DC = Significantly reduced inland transportation costs into Texas and neighboring states

8 Houston s Advantage In the Transatlantic and North/South trades, Port Houston offers the best routings to/from Texas and many neighboring states In the Transpacific trade, the all water Asia route via the Panama Canal to Port Houston is quickly becoming a popular and cost effective routing to/from Texas and Louisiana 3x weekly services extremely popular with BCOs Diversify Pricing set by market but our models suggest this routing is cheaper for the shipping line than IPI/MLB to Texas. Port Houston feeds a small but emerging cluster of import DCs in the Houston area as well as DFW's massive distribution cluster Port Houston offers virtually no terminal congestion Port Houston has massive terminal investment going on with projections for a 250% increase in container terminal capacity in about a decade.
