3 The Fll Line Cmpletin Histry The Fll Line Prject decided t intrduce Cmpletin late 2012, based n team members experience frm a large amunt f il and gas prjects, and ther minr and larger industrial prjects. Early spring 2013 Omega wn the cntract fr best Cmpletin system fr the Fll Line Prject, and started the prcess t implement PIMS versin R4. A Cmpletin strategy was develped based n the experience frm the Nrsk Hydr PIMS R3, and the adptin f methds fr multi cntracts fllw-up. The Cmpletin strategy defined tw mdels, ne fr the EPC full scale cntracts, and ne fr the minr preparatins r Nn-EPC cntracts. Specificatins fr Prject Cding, Cmpletin and Preservatin were develped and incrprated int the cntracts, alng with the PIMS Cmpletin system. All cntracts in the Fll Line Prject are nw using and adpting PIMS Cmpletin int the daily wrk, frm engineering and purchasing activity t site inspectins and functinal testing. The Prcess f adpting and integrating PIMS Cmpletin int ther new Bane NOR prjects is an nging activity.

4 Prject Cmpletin - Main Objective The cmpletin prcess shall structure all activities related t MC and Cmmissining wrk, ensuring Cmpany receive the Scpe f Wrk delivered n time, with crrect technical quality and functinality. One cmmn methd f wrk (ur strategy), and ne cmmn system (PIMS CMS) fr verificatins and mnitring f the Cmpletin activities (Mechanical Cmpletin & Cmmissining) thrughut the prject. Cntinuusly dcumented verificatins frm physical wrk, fllwing cnstructin/ installatin (MC) and functinal testing (Cmmissining). Use f Tag (Object) related Checklists and Certificates fr verifying the wrk within the varius disciplines, allcated systematically int packages fr status and prgress mnitring. Cmplete verview f punch list items/ deficiencies, fcus and actins n the applicable respnsible. Ttal status f cmpleted wrk and technical quality at Hand-Over t Cmpany/Operatins (RFO certificates).

27 Cmpletin Definitins Tag ---> OBJEKT Means a unique number that identifies all field equipment and ther physical cmpnents f a plant r installatin (fr technical equipment, buildings, civil wrk, areas, etc.). (Tags n relevant drawings/dcuments and in Eng. databases and 3D) Mechanical Cmpletin MC (activity/phase) ---> BYGGING Means t verify that the delivery, cnstructin r installatin is built accrding t drawings, specificatins and authrity requirements. (RFCC Ready fr Cmmissining Certificate) Cmmissining COMM (activity/phase) ---> TESTING/OPPSTART Means t verify that functinality and perability is tested and cmplies with required design. (RFOC Ready fr Operatin Certificate)

28 Systematic Cmpletin and Object based fllw-up Prject Cmpletin starts during early Engineering, where dcuments, drawings and an Engineering Tag Database frm the input fr Cmpletin. A Cmpletin rganizatin has t be established equally early. Unique identificatin f Tags (Objects) fr equipment and ther cmpnents t be established as part f Engineering prductin and generally included n the first drawing revisins, befre Issued fr Cnstructin. All Tags and related infrmatin t be ppulated int the Engineering Tag Database and maintained thrughut the Prject perid. Transfer frm the Engineering Tag database int PIMS and ther relevant systems t be established (3D CAD, BIM, Maintenance, etc.) In sme cases PIMS itself can be an Engineering database. Packages with Tags and checklists are rganized in lgical grups fr the wrk and prepared fr verificatin use in the field. Punch lists (fr deficiencies) frm verificatins are made and all status updated in PIMS. Cmpleted wrk is delivered t wner by certificates listing the Packages and giving full status f the particular wrk. Certificates with status and punch lists as input t the Delivery prtcl.

33 Prject Cmpletin Sme challenges Huge civil based prjects in Nrway and internatinal have nn r very little experience with Systematic Cmpletin and such systems in general. The industry mstly like t wrk as it has always dne, d nt see any need fr changes. T explain the differences between Cmpletin and QA, and what mre benefit shall cme frm the Cmpletin prcess. Cmpany tp level prject management need adpt the Cmpletin strategy fully ut and push it dwn t the lwer levels in the rganisatin, and further encurage Cntractr t d the same. Cntractr need t assure crrect manning f the Cmpletin team t manage the wrk scpe. Many details and much wrk t get it all int PIMS Cmpletin and further d the fllw up. T establish the Cmpletin team in early Engineering phase and further cperate with Engineering during all prject phases, fr Cmpany and Cntractr. T get the Engineering Database up running as early as pssible, ne cmmn place fr Cntractr t update all technical Tag related infrmatin.
