Our automatic sampling systems are customized according to the plant requirements, the available space for the installation, and the kind for ores or materials to be treated, in full compliance with the ISO and ASTM standards. Our recent installation engineering and supply solutions for Automatic Sampling Machines created by our technical staff are operating at: thermal power station in Vado Ligure (Italy), transhipment in Venezuela and Indonesia, transport and handling system in Turkey and in Egypt. To guarantee safe and proper procedures, our sampling machines operate via a hydraulics transmission system, which sets the proper cutting speed in relation to the flow rate and speed parameters of the belt conveyor; it stops and set the sampling device where and how you need it; it prevents the interference between the sampling device and the belt conveyor, avoiding damages during production. In case of specific logistic requirements, the secondary automatic system can be started using compressed air instead of using the electromechanical or hydraulics transmission system.

It withdraws the material cutting the flow (downhill) with proper spoon driven by a pneumatic cylinder or, in alternative, by an electrical linear actuator. The sample is collected into the proper box and his pick up is only possible after having pushed the valve which excludes the pick up zone from the zone used for the pneumatic transport. The spoon withdrawal movement can be driven by hand or automatically, each movement is pointed out by limit switches installed on the sampler, cutting speed of the spoon can be changed by means of back pressure regulators, if control is pneumatic, or by electronic card if control is electric.

6 Vico Tana 1/ Genova ITALY Tel.+39(0) Fax.+39(0) CROSS BELT AND CROSS CUT OBJECT: Why the Cross Belt system is better than the Cross Cut system. The spoon, of the Cross Cut system, has to move itself at a speed of 0.6 m/s, for regulations, withdrawing a sample quantity of approximately four times higher than that the spoon Cross Belt picks up. There is a greater wear, of the structure of the spoon, during the picking of cut flow, due to the impact of the material flow on the itself. There are more points of attrition and maintenance in the Cross Cut system: supports and bearings supporting the pinions, wear of the chain (pins and links) with the risk of breaking, bearings and wheels of the traversing table to which is fixed the spoon, bearings or bushes the movement of the movable bottom of the spoon, gear motor and relays reverse motor rotation. While in the Cross Belt system (the ours) the bearings of the spoon movement never perform a rotation (maximum 100 ), the movements of the system are driven by hydraulic cylinders with valve block, so they don't need maintenance. Over time the only wear you can find are the sides of the spoon. The taking of a sample of lower weight leads to a lower cost of the sample division, so smaller spaces and relative weights of the support structures and a lower cost of the recycling plant. The installation of a Cross Cut system involves the study and the manufacture of a casing drain, for receiving the structure; this casing includes also the discharge hopper of collected sampler. This system must have vertical spaces, due to the passage of the spoon, free from scrapers and other accessories in the hopper. The installation of the Cross Belt system is achieved by placing the structure itself on the structure of the conveyor belt with bolting.

OBJECT: DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLY AND OPERATION BY CROSS-BELT FOURTECH, COMPARATIVE TO THE SYSTEM CROSS-BELT TO SPOON ROTANTING, USED BY ALL. Primary sampler type Cross Belt type. CP (to be installed on the belt conveyor) complete with N 6 exclusive idlers formed with special rolls (conform to the radius of operation of the spoon to get the complete collection on the finer sized material from the belt) and will be complete with set of entry & exit skirt plates to facilitate the taking of the material, avoiding spillage during collection. The skirt plates are equipped with wear plates in AISI mm thick. The sampler will be supported by two support beams anchored by bolting to the structure of the belt conveyor. The sampler is constructed of rugged carbon steel frame, is equipped with a full cover to preserve the technical characteristics of the material taken and to avoid any risk for operators. The sampling is controlled by hydraulics drive unit which has a power of 3 5 Kw. and components of primary choice, which controls the various valves by means of signals received from proximity sensors installed on the machine body. The spoon which has opening X mm. (three time the max particle size of material) is constructed of AISI 316 stainless steel. The spoon downloads the material in the hopper appropriately coated with steel AISI 304 thick 5 mm. The exclusive movement of the spoon allows to discharge the totalities of the sample into the hopper avoiding the launch of the material out of the hopper. All other systems, which adopt the full rotation of the spoon, have the failure of shedding material due to the centrifugal force exerted by this movement. The reliability of the sampler is due to the almost complete lack of maintenance of moving parts as it is devoid of couplings and brakes, his every move never appears above 125 rotation, and a very low installed power. DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM The automatic primary sampler on the belt conveyor receives the impulse to run by the balance of withdrawal or by timer or PC located in laboratory. The sampling spoon is placed on the edge of the belt for about 20 mm. over lap, in order not to damage by cutting immediately following the taking of the sample; the spoon makes a curve, perpendicular to the flow, that adapts to the belt shape and is obtained by means of special roller supports assembled on the conveyor structure. It discharge the sampler in to the hopper placed at the end of the movement; thereafter the spoon is raiser and placed at rest. The collected material, led by hopper and connecting channel, is conveyed on the belt where is incorporated the secondary sampler for size, that makes the withdrawal after receiving the drive from system governing PLC. Not sampled material is conveyed to hammer mill that by means of proper grids, allows the size necessary to obtain laboratory tests. All the treated material is discharged from the mill on a belt conveyor where is incorporated the secondary sampler for fine material, running the withdrawal as a result of the command it receives from system governing PLC. All not sampled material, reduced to small pieces by the mill, is conveyed to a rotary valve, that using the blower allows the pipes to transport the material to the cyclone. This one discharges the material on the main belt conveyor, cyclone placed downstream of the point of the primary sampler withdrawal. All the system is controlled by a PLC the allows to govern the operations in a flexible way in which the operator deems appropriate and necessary. Secondary sampler belt conveyors are provided with inverter for electric motors to optimize the speed depending on the setup of the system. All the samplers movements are hydraulic driven, solenoid valve are powered by the PLC system that receives impulses from magnetic induction switches placed on the samplers. For any systems malfunction, a signal interface, in addition to reporting the fault, will stop in an emergency the main belt conveyor.

12 Vico Tana 1/ Genova ITALY Tel.+39(0) Fax.+39(0) AUTOMATIC PRIMARY SAMPLER The automatic primary sampler will be assembled to the metallic structure of the conveyor, it is completed by a metallic plating of protection for security. The withdrawal has carried out by a large spoon, which collects by means of swing of the pendulum the material from the conveyor and discharges into the conveyor pitch hopper. The opening of the spoon and its volume result in the size and quantity of the material to be sampled, as indicated from usual rules. The movement of the sampling equipment, driven by a hydraulic system and controlled by PLC, prevents deterioration or cut of the rubber carpet. The PLC program assures the belt conveyor stop when the sampler doesn't reach the rest position and prevents the going out of the material from the conveyor. The roller supports with suitable structure let arrange the belt to the spoon passage for the withdrawal of the material on the way section. The hydraulic components, forming the equipment for the spoon movement, allow an adjustment of this movement in order to ascertain the perfect operation. The parts which come into contact with the material are manufactured in stainless steel AISI 304. There is an emergency stop button on the sampler structure. AUTOMATIC SECONDARY SAMPLER The automatic secondary sampler will be assembled to the metallic structure of the conveyor which carries the material drawn from the primary sampler and it is completed by metallic plating of protection for security; this plating extends to the conveyor in order to shelter the sample in processing from physical and weather changes. The working of the secondary sampler is similar to the description of the primary sampler. The working of the belt conveyor is controlled by electro-mechanical components (revolution control system, anti-skidding) which transmit signals to PLC. When there is an anomaly the PLC stops the system. The belt conveyor speed is regulated by an inverter which operates the control unit. The parts which come into contact with the material are manufactured in stainless steel AISI 304. There is an emergency stop button on the sampler structure.
