2 PROJECT SSDR ExD By FRIEDE & GOLDMAN, LTD Project Technical Description Fincantieri Offshore activities target the design and construction of high value non standard vessels such as Drillships, SSDRs and Pipe Layers. Its value proposition is based on offering a new generation of fully reliable, integrated turn-key products, tailor made to meet specific client requirements. Innovation is achieved through strong internal design plus R&D and engineering capabilities which are supported by the know-how provided by a network of proven offshore partners. The integrated value chain approach and consolidated project management process allow the delivery of turnkey customized products which benefit from Fincantieri s strong experience as system integrator. The solutions delivered by Fincantieri ensure that client and order management are optimized through research and development, dedicated offshore service shipyards and engineering companies which provide full support from first design phase to final delivery. Fincantieri Offshore studied, together with some of the most well-know international designers designs that are now ready to be customized to owner s specific requirements and then build. One example is: FRIEDE & GOLDMAN ExD The design philosophy of the vessel is to provide a complete drilling platform which will operate in a DPS 3 mode in waters up to a maximum water depth of 10,000 ft. with drilling depth down to 37,500 ft. with an operational autonomy of 35 days.

3 The vessel has been designed for drilling in the deep water regions of the world, such as, offshore Brazil, West Africa, South East Asia, the Gulf of Mexico, North Sea summer conditions and regions with comparable meteorological circumstances. The ExD SSDR has been deeply analysed by Fincantieri Offshore: in particular a full project feasibility analysis, a project engineering study, a full project estimate, an analysis of the drilling package configuration have been carried on. This preliminary study allows Fincantieri Offshore to be able to quote this project to any interested client. Main Class shall be ABS A1 Column Stabilized Drilling Unit DPS-3, CDS
