2 What are the COG? Cross-domain concepts Cross-domain code lists SDMX Glossary Classification of statistical domains General or specific Guidelines 2

3 Recent work on cross-domain concepts Presently revised in the framework of the revision of the SDMX Glossary (ex-metadata Common Vocabulary MCV) Reference metadata frameworks of the SDMX sponsor organisations are reviewed and new concepts created since 2009 have been integrated into the list of cross-domain concepts Mappings between these frameworks will be revised and made publicly available Will no longer be presented as a separate tool but will be integrated into the SDMX Glossary SISAI-Metadata Working Group meeting

4 Recent work on cross-domain code lists 21 cross-domain code lists are now publicly available Further code lists are under preparation (price adjustment, time transformations) and will be made available in the coming months Where to find them: Dedicated page on SDMX website : MS-Word or MS- Excel files intended for users who want to have a user-friendly presentation of CL, discover what they contain and evaluate them SDMX Fusion Registry : This is the "technical viewer", i.e. a registry based on the SDMX technical specifications and to be used primarily by SDMX implementers SDMX Global Registry : This is a webpage showing the content of the registry in a user-friendly way; this page also explain users how to use the GR for authoring and viewing content, submitting content; it is also possible to use web services SISAI-Metadata Working Group meeting

6 Recent work on SDMX Guidelines (1) Main area of work over the last months Propose operational solutions to problems met by SDMX implementers Guidelines can be general (how to create code lists) or specific (how to handle embargo) In general the technical specifications allow for more than one way of tackling an issue; in such cases the guidelines : suggest one recommended approach discuss the pros and cons of the other approach(es) possible The aim of the one-recommended approach is to promote reuse and homogeneity across implementations SISAI-Metadata Working Group meeting
