Lifting gear should to be inspected by an expert at least once every year. 12 Rope slings acc. to Swiss Standard SN EN :2009 Rope slings made of steel wire ropes - Safety - Part 2: Information on application and maintenance to be provided by the manufacturer. Annex A.2.3 Thorough inspections and discard criteria: A thorough inspection should be carried out in intervals not exceeding twelve months. Lifting belts acc. to DIN EN :2000 Textile slings - Safety - Part 1: Flat-woven lifting belts made of synthetic fibers for general applications Annex D.4 Inspections and repairs: The intervals between the inspections should be determined by an expert having regard to application, environment, frequency of use and similar factors; in any case, the lifting belts should be visually inspected by an expert at least once a year to provide evidence of their further serviceability. Round slings acc. to DIN EN :2000 Textile slings - Safety - Part 2: Round slings made of synthetic fibers for general applications Annex C.4 Inspections and repairs: The intervals between the inspections should be determined by an expert having regard to application, environment, frequency of use and similar factors; in any case, the round slings should be visually inspected by an expert at least once a year to provide evidence of their further serviceability.

13 Chain slings acc. to Swiss Standard SN EN 818-6:2000 Short-link round steel chains for lifting purpose - Safety - Part 6: Chain slings - Requirements in terms of information on application and maintenance to be provided by the manufacturer. Annex A.2.2 Inspection: An inspection should be carried out by an expert in a maximum interval of 12 months. The interval should be shorter if required in view of the operating conditions Annex A2.3. Repair: With chain slings exposed to welding work during the repair, every repaired chain strand should be subjected after heat-treatment before re-commissioning to a load test with twice the Working Load Limit.
