9 Local GoGreen Initiatives Responsible resource management CVG Hub: Recycle Center was built with a baler in the sort building to capture the clear plastic stretch film and corrugated cardboard that are discarded from the sort operation. 137,000 lbs of material were recycled in 2010, with a target of 250,000 lbs of material for 2011 DHL Customer Response Center (CRC): Completely retrofitted its lighting with energy saving bulbs in November 2010, realizing significant energy savings through lower electricity usage Earth Day : Employees participated in earth-friendly activities tied to green objectives like conserving energy, water and natural resources, recycling and reducing waste. Initiatives included: annual environmental pledge, adopting a street, carpooling, switching off lights in the office area, reusing paper, using recycled paper and minimizing the use of disposable dishware 9 DHL EXPRESS GOGREEN 11st JULY 2014

10 Local GoGreen Initiatives Environmentally friendly solutions Packaging: All DHL packaging supplies are made of recyclable materials and some are even reusable for customers that ship and return documents Paperless Invoicing: DHL has been offering Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) invoicing for over a decade. On an average, customers using EDI have saved approximately 23,000 reams of paper* annually, sparing over 1,400 trees. EDI invoicing completely eliminates the need to mail paper invoices Paper Products: DHL partners with vendors that use paper products certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and also partners with vendors that use products made from 100% recycled paper *Calculations are based on the Conservatree ( methodology using DIN A4 as the paper type 10 DHL EXPRESS GOGREEN 11st JULY 2014
