9 ACT Quality procedures QUOTE and ORDER PLACEMENT Determine customer requirements and agree upon in writing Identify potential weak points in design, or manufacturing process Create a Bill-of-Materials, production schedule and cost analysis ORDER and RECEIVE RAW MATERIALS Purchase raw materials required to meet the customer requirements Verify correct quantity and quality of materials are received and stored properly Verify that appropriate MSDS and Product Data Sheets are available for the incoming materials SAW (BEAM) CNC ASSEMBLY SURFACE PREPARATION FINISH (paint or laminate/veneer) INSPECT and PACK Check dimensions on first pieces and throughout the run Check all characteristics vs. prototype or order on first pieces and the throughout the entire order Visually check for gouges, scratches and other surface issues Use a jig, go-no go fixture, etc. to assure correct assembly Control adhesive concentration, temperature and amounts. Assure uniform application. Visually check for gouges, scratches and other surface issues Conduct periodic destructive testing of adhesive and fixture material strength. Visually check for gouges, scratches and other surface issues Assure the surface is ready for the required finishing operation(s) Check for paint consistency and level, no burning of parts and no over-sanding Visually check to assure parts are ready for planned finish material Follow vendor Product Data Sheets for mixing, viscosity, temperature, pot life, dwell time and application requirements For paint assure correct paint build, time and sanding between coats For laminates/veneers -- check for condition of the finished edge, good adhesion and no entrapped bubbles Check each part vs. prototype or customer specification Inspector personally signs each packed box following inspection SHIP Communicate with customer and verify on-time shipment
