4 1. PRODUCT VIEW 1.2 LED Display/Control Panel Restart Press this button to start counting or to resume counting after an error is cleared. This button should also be pressed to clear the displayed counted number. 2. MG Counterfeit Detection Mode 3. UV Counterfeit Detection Mode 4. IR Counterfeit Detection Mode 5. 5 2. OPERATION 2.1 Getting Started POWER ON 1. Connect the three-prong power cord supplied to Power Outlet on the back of the unit. 2. Turn Power Switch on the back of the unit to the ON position 3. A "0" will be displayed on the Counted Number Display and the AUTO setting is automatically set. 2.2 Operation Modes COUNTERFEIT DETECTION MODE 1. The UV and MG detection are automatically selected when unit turns ON. 2. To activate/deactivate any of the counterfeit detection modes (IR/UV/MG) 1. Press the CF button. The CF SET will be shown on the display 2. Press the detection method on the numeric key. UV SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT 1. Press the UV button for 3 seconds. The batch display will show the current sensitivity level. 2. Press numeric buttons (0-9) to choose desired level. 3. Press RESTART button to confirm. MG SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT 1. Press the MG button for 3 seconds. The batch display will show the current sensitivity level. 2. Press numeric buttons (0-9) to choose desired level. 3. Press RESTART button to confirm. IR SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT 1. Press the IR button for 3 seconds. The batch display will show the current sensitivity level. 2. Press numeric buttons (0-9) to choose desired level. 3. Press RESTART button to confirm. 4

6 2.2 Operation Modes 2. OPERATION (ADD) ADD MODE To turn on ADD Mode, press CF and ADD. ADD mode allows you to count multiple stacks of bills while maintaining a grand total amount. (BATCH) BATCH MODE Set the batch number by pressing the BATCH button. Every time the button is pressed, one of the preset values (10, 20, 25, 50, 100) will be displayed on the Batch number display. Counting operation will stop when the counting number reaches the set batch number. Any batch number (1-999), other than the preset values can be set by pressing the numeric buttons. To change batch number for each counting cycle, press the RESTART key and select one of the preset values by pressing the BATCH button. (DD) Different Denomination Detection Function Through this function the size of the first control bill is memorized and if a bill whose size is different from the memorial value is detected the machine will stop. 1. Press the DD button and the DD indicator on the display will light up. 2. When the machine stops after detecting a different dimension bill, remove the detected bill from the stacker and press the RESTART button to continue counting. (SPEED) SETTING COUNTING SPEED Set the counting speed by pressing the SPEED button. Every time this button is pressed, a preset rate of 800,1200, 1600, or 1900 notes/min. will be displayed on the Counting Number Display. NOTE: Difference between bill sizes of different dimensions is detected by checking the width of each bill to be counted. The machine is set up so that it can detect bills of different dimensions when the size is difference is 5mm or more. The dimensions of bills can be adjusted by pressing the "DD" button for 3 seconds, the batch display will show the current size "DXX" then press the numeric buttons to choose the desired size. After choosing the size, press the "RESTART" button to confirm. 5

OPERATION 2.3 The Right Way to Load Bills Damp and/or stained note Folded Note Piece of Paper Clip Rubber Band Curled Note Damp and/or badly stained bills should be avoided Check that no foreign matter (pieces of paper, paper clip, dust, etc.) are mixed in with the bundle of bills Folded or curled bills should be straightened before they are set in the hopper For bundles of new bills, bend and flex the stack before it is set in the hopper Align the long and short edges of the bills by lightly tapping the stack. Insufficient alignment may cause an operation error. NOTE: If machine stops, 1. Error Codes will be displayed and blinking on the screen. Check page of this manual or Error Code Label on top of the unit for error type and suggested solution. 2. Remove detected note from the stacker, press RESTART and recount all the other notes in the hopper. (The detected note will not be counted in the sum total). 6

11 5. SAFETY/WARNINGS 5.1. Cleaning the Machine Warning: Before doing any cleaning, turn the power switch off and disconnect the power cord from the machine. 1. Cleaning the sensors shown below It is very important to clean all the sensors in the machine with a soft brush to avoid any paper particles or dust from sticking to the light-transmitter or the light-receiver sensors. This should be done every day. If necessary, the glass surfaces of the detectors may also be wiped with a soft cloth soaked with alcohol. 2. Cleaning the inside of the machine periodically It is necessary to clean the inside of the machine once a month. Unplug the machine and lift the top cover to gain access to the interior. 3. Additional recommendations Avoid operating the machine in a dusty or dirty room. SAFETY/WARNINGS 5.2 Maintenance Notice Avoid operation under direct sunlight Don't press the operation-keys with a pointed tip of a pencil or anything pointed Use supplied three-prong for power supply Unplug the machine before its moved Don't put tools, fingers, hair, loose clothing, etc near any moving parts Don't spill drink etc. on the machine For maintenance, use specified parts only 11

13 6. WARRANTY 6. Warranty SecureMaster provides a limited, three-year replacement warranty for this unit (). This warranty is limited and conditional as the following: Three-years from the date of original purchase. Applies only to the original purchaser. All warranty claims must be accompanied by the proof of purchase. Warranty is limited to defects in workmanship or material. It does not apply to damages in handling the product, general misuse, poor maintenance or shipping. Warranty liability does not extend or cover any loss, harm or damages from miscounts or failures in currency counting or counterfeit detection.
