9 Regional Transit growth was the fastest in the nation Central Puget Sound Region transit ridership grew at a faster rate than any of the 52 metropolitan areas with a population of more than one million people (only 10 of these regions experienced an increase). Only New York City added more total transit boardings than the Central Puget Sound Region.
