5 State Radar as of 0755 ET Leslie will move slowly southwestward over the next few days, but it will accelerate northeast again later this week. Leslie may strengthen to a hurricane when it moves southwest over warmer waters. Michael is currently forecast to strengthen to a Category 2 before landfall.

7 Today s Forecast Today s Highs Today s Rain Chances A cold front will move through during the afternoon, bringing drier air later today. Heat indices before the cold front moves through may be in the middle to upper 90s in the Panhandle and Big Bend. Winds may still be a bit breezy out of the northwest at mph.

8 Tonight s Forecast Tonight s Lows Tonight s Rain Chances The cold front will have moved through much of North Florida tonight, which will leave lows pleasantly cool. Winds will be light, out of the northwest at 5-10 mph.

9 About 3 to 6 inches of rain fell over the last 24 hours from Michael with localized totals near 10. This has resulted in some rivers to start rising. Some of the rivers in North Florida may reach flood stage later this week.

12 Nadine will move northwestward over the next few days. Weakening and dissipation is forecast this weekend. Nadine is forecast to dissipate by the weekend.

22 LOGISTICS SECTION Current Operations Supplying LSA Tallahassee with 72 trucks of food and water for onward movement to avenues A-H. FLNG is on scene to manage LSA. Have installed multiple generators and delivered commodities Filling EMAC resource requests Received approx. 380 FLNG Soldiers at FAMU. Processing Federal Resource Requests with FEMA Working with FEMA Logistics to implement and refine distribution strategy MOU s set for 2 of 3 State LSA s, awaiting signature for 3rd SLRC is filling request for PODs. FFS Prepared to support one LSA. Future Opening three State LSA s post landfall (NLT Friday, Marianna, Tally Airport, Suwanee Valley) Establishing three primary Base Camps (West, Central, East) Integrating EMAC Teams into state operations Deployment of state and federal resources. Supporting Mass Care Missions Accomplishments SAFETY and SECURITY SLRC operational; safety and security briefings conducted Contracting for security services for all sites FLNG and FFS Teams to support State Logistics Operations FOOD, WATER AND SHELTERING Meals, Water and Shelter supplies available at the SLRC and being uploaded to trailers. FEMA Resources are now available. Integrating FEMA Logistics with State. HEALTH AND MEDICAL Contracting for SANPACS and Base Camps as operational locations expand Have deployed three generators and 10-ton HVAC System for SPNS and Hospital Prelandfall. ENERGY (POWER/FUEL) Heavy equipment packages arriving (generators, pumps MHE etc.). ESF-12 will stage fuel trucks at staging areas. COMMUNICATIONS IT Supporting our communications requirements at each site or voice and data. TRANSPORTATION Have contracted for tractors, trailers, and specialty trucks for deliveries. SLRC uploads staging and FEMA shipments will go to the three LSA s HAZARDOUS WASTE Will be closely monitored at each LSA and Base Camp site, but our operations do not generate chemical waste.

23 Recovery Section Situation Update Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDA s) Recovery is finalizing the damage assessment schedule with focus on the Common Operating Picture and coordinating with Preparedness, for training to begin today. Continuing prep work today regarding demographics, logistics, and other pertinent information that the teams will need. Recovery has entered missions requesting CERT and AmeriCorp members to aid in additional damage assessments. These partners will attend a training conducted by the Division on Tuesday 10/16 in an effort to continue assessments on Wednesday 10/17.
