Item: 6.3 Hye Yoon Shin, SSCC President & SSCC JRC Stipend Recommendations for SSCC The last college-approved version of the Senate bylaws required that membership of all Standing Committees of the Senate be approved by 2/3 vote of the full Senate. Since this never happened, none of the Senate Standing Committees, including JRC, can be considered official at this time. The Student Senate was unable to review and approve the recommendations on stipends for the senators from the SSCC JRC due to the misunderstanding of the Bylaws. However, the recommendations on stipends were made by the unofficial JRC, which was comprised of the SSC VP, Representative-at-Large and several other senators based on their review of the records of each senator and on the rubric system that had been used by the Student Senate. These are the stipend amounts recommended by the SSCC JRC for the spring 2015 senators, and this recommendation can be found in the SSCC meeting agenda for May 22, Full stipend amount goes as follows: President - $350, Executive - $200, Representative - $125. The SSCC JRC calculated the stipends based on the records of each senator s senatorial activities: Senators Shared Governance SSCC Meetings Flea Market Office Hours Total Points TOTAL STIPEND J. 7 Item: 6.4 Noel Ramirez, Communications Director, on behalf of Events Coordinator, Theresa Pedrosa Food for Town Hall Meeting on September 22 nd, The Town Hall Meetings have been taken around Chabot so that students and various other citizens can voice their opinion to the local leaders of government. These meetings require refreshments on the circumstance that many speakers have to say something. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Approve funds for refreshments that will be needed for the Town Hall Meeting. The total funds of $ are the maximum requirement. FOR SSCC USE ONLY Moved by: Second by: Disposition: PASS FAIL POSTPONED Other:

Item: 6.5 Hye Yoon Shin, SSCC President Release of Club Initial Funds According to the Chabot College website, there were about officially registered Student Clubs on campus during last academic year, and we are expecting to see more new clubs this year. Joining clubs is one of the students favorite ways to get involved in their campus, and it truly enriches the social, cultural, and education experiences of Chabot students and influences the community around Chabot College. The Student Senate can release club initial funds because, in the previous SSCC Regular meeting ( ), the Student Senate decided to allow the SSCC Finance Director to release club initial funds in the case of vacancy of ICC Chair. I would like to collaborate with all the clubs in process of helping clubs thrive on campus. RECOMMENDED ACTION: I recommend that the Senate allow the Finance Director to release initial funding of $300 (instead of $150 which was last year s allocation) to clubs who have submitted their applications to the Office of Student Life, and who have been verified as meeting all of the requirements to be an official club. An additional stipulation might be that the Student Life Office must update the SSCC webpages with information on a student club before start-up funds are transferred. The information should include the following items: 1. Club name 2. Officers name & contact information (if officers have elected to share it) 3. Mission 4. Main club activities 5. Meeting dates, time, and place 6. Address of any Social Media Services- Website, Facebook, Instagram, and so on (if the club has one) Website updates will be verified by the Finance Committee.

Item: 6.6 Theresa Pedrosa, SSCC Events Coordinator AC Transit Bus Pass All members of SSCC are given a parking pass; instead, AJ Assef and myself, because we don t drive, would like the SSCC to approve an AC Transit bus pass for AJ Assef and myself so we can take AC Transit to get back and forth to school. RECOMMENDED ACTION: AC Transit Bus Pass for AJ Assef is $70/month AC Transit Bus Pass for Theresa Pedrosa is $20/month FOR SSCC USE ONLY Moved by: Second by: Disposition: PASS FAIL POSTPONED Other:

Item: 6.7 Arnold Paguio Event Planning Timeline Events often serve as the face of the Student Senate allowing us to reach out to our constituents and showcase the resources, services, and commitment that the Student Senate provides to Chabot College. In support of our event planning efforts, we offer this 5-10 minute mini-training on an event planning timeline. This timeline has been developed specifically for the Student Senate with respect to the policies, procedures, and governance structure of the Senate. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Information item only. No action recommended.

Item: 6.8 Arnold Paguio Roberts Rules of Order Mini-Training General meetings of the Student Senate are very important to both the members of the Senate and their constituents. There are many important matters to discuss and decisions to make in the limited amount of time we have for these meetings. In order to be more efficient with this time, I am proposing a minute presentation on Roberts Rules of Order. This presentation will introduce new procedures, motions, and structure (including time limits) that will allow the Student Senate to remain thorough in their discussion and more efficient with the time available. RECOMMENDED ACTION: Information item only. No action recommended.
