2 Technical specification of NMR Spectrometer MHz NMR Spectrometer [Quantity: 1] 2. Frequency of operation: 400 MHz digital FT NMR spectrometer 3. Magnet: Latest technology based, stable and shielded high performance super conducting magnetic system with narrow bore size 54 mm with an operational frequency of 400 MHz for 1H (specify details), high performance RT & cryo shims, Ultra shield with long hold liquid helium dewar (one year or more) and liquid nitrogen (14 days or more), liquid helium level sensors with alarm, anti vibration arrangement. All the accessories required to support cryostats should be quoted (liq. He and liq. N 2 transfer lines etc). 4. Probes: (a) Auto tunable multinuclear broadband probes with standard specifications for line width, line shape, sensitivity, and RF better field homogeneity. Capable of covering broad range of nuclei (specify details). (b) Inverse resonance probe (specify details). Digital 2H lock channel; Sample diameter: 5 mm Should have capability for solid state probe upgradation. Please provide detail specification for both the probes e.g. sensitivity, resolution and line shape with NMR tube inner diameter and sample volume etc. 5. No of channels: Two (2) [upgradeable to more no of channels] 6. Transmitter: A broad band linear amplifier for range 400 MHz with decoupling channel of 50 watts and observe channel of 150 watts. 7. Receiver: Receiver amplifier with all standard features like digital quadrature detection, 16 to 22 bit ADC with 5 MHz bandwidth, pre amplifiers, necessary RF filters, Digital lock channel etc. 8. Field Gradient Unit: A field gradient unit of 50 G/cm or more with gradient shim and gradient pulse shaping. 9. Spectra controller: 32 bit Acquisition processor 10. Cooling /heating: with oxygen free air 11. VT Unit: Low and high temperature controlled accessories. Computer controlled temperature and air pressure. High temperature range Ambient to C and Nitrogen cooling system C (specify resolution). 12. Test Samples: Test sample kit with all standard samples. 13. Spectroscopy kit: Should include non magnetic tools, RF-testing cables, 5 mm sample tubes. 14. Computer, Printer and Software: A compatible PC work station with latest configuration (minimum 4 GB RAM and one terabyte hard disk capacities, 19 LCD monitor, latest available 3 GHz or better processor, HD-DVD, Blue Ray Disc, CD-RW drive and USB ports); Linux and windows operating system; Language: English; Compatible high-end color laser printer and scanner. Latest all NMR controlling 1D, 2D, 3D operating system, acquisition, processing, simulation, plotting, structural verification softwares with optional quote on licenses capable of running 2

3 under multiple CPUs. Higher configuration is always preferred. 15. Installation: The liquid helium and nitrogen required for installation should be provided by the NMR supplier at their expense. The price should be quoted in INR; Supply of liquid He contract is for 6 years from the date of instillation. 16. Warranty: Comprehensive warranty (on-site) and maintenance (with factory trained engineer) minimum 5 years for all parts and labor with co maintenance and service and free shipping on warranty items and also for regular upgrades to all software during the entire warranty period from the date of installation. Vendor has to take all responsibilities for shifting and reinstallation of full set up from present location to permanent site at Arugul. Accordingly all terms and conditions remain the same at permanent site. All complete necessary charges for the same may be shown separately in their offer. 17. Training: Onsite technical/opertaional training to be given by service and application engineer (a) one or two person from scientific side as well as from technical side should given training at their factory site (b) On site training should also be provided to the staff after installation. 18. Accessories: (a) Compressor: One oil and dust free scroll type air compressor of appropriate capacity with drying and filtering systems which can provide compressed air of required quality and purity. (b) Dewar flasks: (c) UPS: One Dewar flasks (Min. capacity 10 L) for low temperature NMR experiments. Two or four Dewar flasks (Min. capacity 50 L) to store liquid nitrogen with trolley; transfer lines/tubes to fill the spectrometer with liquid nitrogen and liquid He. A suitable UPS system with 12 h or more power backup for complete system (specify price and technical details). (d) Special accessory required: One vibration proof table. 19. Optional Accessories: (a) Auto Sampler: Auto Sampler for 60 samples or more with all required hardware and software; all other accessories including the required number of spinner turbines. (b) Electronic cooling unit Range: Ambient to approx C. (c) Double resonance high resolution observed probe with gradient i. 1H/19F)/X; ii. X (broad band) detection with higher frequency-31p and lower frequency -15N or lower than 15N; iii. Sample diameter: 5 mm and Sample diameter: 5 mm and 2H lock; iv. 4 3) Training on operation and routine maintenance for NMR instrument. Upon receipt of your quotation, the technical committee will have the review meeting. Selection mainly based on technical features will be invited to present a seminar before a joint technical and purchase committee meeting to finalize the order. 4

5 TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR SUBMISSION OF QUOTATION FOR SUPPLY OF STORES ORDERED: 1(a) Rate: The rate quoted must be net exclusive of packing, forwarding, freight, and all other incidental charges. All the charges like excise duty, packing & forwarding, sale tax, freight, Insurance, Handling charges etc, if applicable must be shown separately. The stores are required to be dispatched by passenger train for Bhubaneswar or by road transport or delivered at this Institute under the supplier s own arrangement free of additional charges. The risk of damage or loss in transit if any will be the supplier s. In case the aforesaid terms are not considered, acceptable charge payable will be required to be specified clearly at ad variorum or lump sum rate. Manufacturers price list wherever applicable, should be submitted. 1(b) Excise Duty & VAT: Rates inclusive of Excise Duty and Sales tax will be preferred. However, where quoted separately, the Excise Duty & Sales Tax rate as applicable should be clearly mentioned. 1 (c) Way Bill : This may be issued against consignment note in original & a copy of Invoice. 2 a) Consignee: All stores are required to be consigned to the Registrar, Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar , Orissa (Attn: Principal Investigator, Project Name, and Name of the School). b) Disposal of Dispatch Documents: The railway receipt/pwb/consignment Note along with the relevant bill in triplicate and challan in duplicate should be dispatched to the Registrar IIT Bhubaneswar, Bhubaneswar immediately on completion of dispatch. If these documents do not reach the Registrar in time all wharfage/demurrage, if any will be recoverable from the suppliers. 3. Delivery Period: The stores are required to be delivered / dispatched within 90 days from the date of receipt of the order by the supplier. All offers of delivery should be made exstocks, and a clear note should be inserted in case ex-stock delivery is not possible. 4. Quality & Specification of Stores: The stores offered should be of the best quality available, unless otherwise specified confirming strictly to the specifications cited. The Institute reserves the right to reject the stores as found unacceptable on these grounds. 5. Liquidated Damages: If a firm accepts an order and fails to execute the order in full or part as per the terms and conditions stipulated therein, it will be open to this Institute to recover liquidated damages from the firm at the rate 2% of the value of the undelivered stores per month or part thereof, subject to a maximum of 10% of the value of the undelivered stores. It will also be open to this Institute alternatively, to arrange procurement of the required stores from any other source at the risk and expense of the firm, which accepted the order but failed to execute the order according to stipulated agreed upon. 6. Submission of Quotation: All quotations must be forwarded in sealed cover by mail or hand only (Ordinary Post/Regd.post/Speed post/courier) addressed to the Registrar, (Attn: Name of the Person mentioned in the enquiry, Name of the School), Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar , Orissa, so as to reach within the specified period. The reference to the Enquiry No. and the last date for submission must clearly be super-scribed on the sealed envelope. To ensure receipt of quotations in time intending suppliers are advised to mail them 7 clear days in advance. If no counter offer is made in the quotation, it will be taken for granted that the offer is strictly in accordance with the specification and term and conditions laid down in the tender notice. 7. Opening of Quotation: Every quotation will be opened at the office of the concerned School/Centre, IIT Bhubaneswar, Bhubaneswar, at the time and date on the tender form. 5

6 Time of commercial bid opening will be communicated (to those who qualify in the technical bid) through and a firm may send its accredited representative to witness the opening if it so desires. 8. Period of Validity: A quotation shall remain valid for acceptance at least for a period of 90 days from the date of opening. 9. Sales & Income Tax Clearance: The intending supplier must be a registered dealer under Central Sales Tax Act. In such cases the Intending supplier has to furnish this institute its Sales and Income Tax Clearance Certificate (up to date). 10. Warranty: Five years onsite maintenance and warranty for the instrument (with factory trained engineer). 11. Payment: 90% to 95% of the Payment will be made by a crossed account payee cheque or RTGS, normally within 30 days from the date of receipt of the bill of the stores in good order and condition, and its successful installation/training & satisfactory performance. 11a. Performance guarantee: The remaining 10% to 5% of the payment will only be released after the performance Bank Guarantee is produced for the same amount, else it will be released after the warranty period. IMPORTANT 1. Director of IIT Bhubaneswar may accept or reject any or all the bids in part or in full without assigning any reason and does not bind himself to accept the lowest bid. The Institute at its discretion may change the quantity / upgrade the criteria / drop any item or part thereof at any time before placing the Purchase Order. 2. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Director of this Institute shall be final and binding on the Bidders. 6
