5 Program objectives The doctorate program s mission (PhD) at HEC Montréal is to train skilled researchers and academics as well as to stimulate fundamental and applied research on management issues. By the end of their program, students will have gained advanced knowledge in their field and advanced skills in applied scientific research in the context of organizations and will be prepared to fill a professor-researcher position. 17/12/04 5

The program is aiming first and foremost at graduate students in management, or a related field, who have a strong interest and aptitude for research, who want to join the academic community as professors or as researchers. 17 Application Process How to submit an application for admission

18 Admission Requirements Master s Degree (in business administration or a related field) Very good academic file (university level) Admission test: GMAT or TageMage or GRE (score 70 e percentile and up) Proof of French or English Proficiency (both written and oral) You must have completed 3 years (90 credits) of university studies entirely in French or in English or An English language test (TOEFL of 100 or more or IELTS of 7 and above). Note that a minimal French requirement is not necessary

19 An admission test is MANDATORY for all GMAT: Graduate Management Admission Test Used by >= 1700 Business schools worldwide Required Score: 630 and up On-line registration: GRE: Graduate Record Examination On-line registration: Equivalent Score of 630 of the GMAT after conversion Tage-Mage: Test d aptitude aux études en gestion Mainly used by French business schools Required Score : 283 and up Registration from our web site (PhD Program) Possibility to carry out the on-site test at HEC Montréal
