2 CABRAMATTA LOOP PROJECT In May 2018, the Federal Government announced its commitment to the and Botany Rail Duplication Projects. Transporting freight by rail to Port Botany is a key priority in order to support the economic growth of Sydney. The construction of additional railway infrastructure between and Warwick Farm stations will enable greater efficiencies in the rail freight system, help meet future freight demand and support the NSW Government s targets to increase the use of rail transportation. The Project includes the following key features: Construction of new track approximately 1.3km long. This new track will enable carriages to simultaneously pass each other through the loop track from both directions. This track will run parallel to and form part of the Southern Sydney Freight Line. Two new rail bridges will be constructed over Sussex Street and Creek/Railway Parade. The road alignment of Broomfield Street in will need to be adjusted to accommodate the new loop track. The Project is a State significant infrastructure project and is therefore subject to State Government planning approval. The Project is a key Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) initiative to support the Sydney Metropolitan Freight Strategy and NSW Freight and Ports Plan Together, with the Botany Rail Duplication Project, the will provide the capacity to meet future growth in the transportation of containerised freight between Port Botany and metropolitan freight intermodal terminals Existing Leightonfield Warwick Farm Proposed To Port Botany Southern Sydney Freight Line Port Botany Rail Line To Macarthur Existing Glenfield

3 COMMUNITY AND STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT This Engagement Plan outlines the engagement proposed during the environmental assessment and reference design phases for the project (the Project), for which we are the proponent. There are four main Stages to the Project: STAGE 1 SCOPING This stage includes scoping of the Project and undertaking a preliminary environmental assessment to inform the Secretary s Environmental Assessment Requirements. STAGE 2A DEVELOPMENT Reference Design and Environmental Assessment to inform the development of an EIS. This will be a vital stage to gather and consider feedback from stakeholders and the community. STAGE 2B EXHIBITION OF THE EIS Engagement activities will focus on explaining the EIS, specialist studies and information stakeholders about how they can make a formal submission to the Department of Planning and Environment. STAGE 3 DELIVERY Following receipt of Infrastructure Approval, this stage will include the development of detailed design and construction of the Project. STAGE 4 OPERATION This stage will cover the maintenance and operation of the Project as part of the Southern Sydney Freight Line. We are here
