Features & standard models for various layouts, and 6. Its Importance. The reason behind preparing this presentation is : a) To explain the space saving concept and several benefits of optimizer mobile storage system, and b) to equip field to independently handle optimizer queries. 3 Why Optimizer? OPTIMIZER as the name suggests means optimum use of space, value & money. Everybody understands the value of space in today s world. From single storey building to double & then the concept of tripple storey and now mutli-apartments shows what the value of space is all about. Economy, sensex, commodity prices, oil and steel prices goes up and down but real estate prices always heads north. Hence everybody understand the value of space. Every individual, architects, corporate, both govt. & Pvt., SME s are looking for maximizing space utilization. The more effectively you use the given area, the more cost of product per unit will go down, means higher productivity. POSITIONING OF OPTIMIZER: Compact, Value For Money, Centralized Heavy Duty Storage Systems for Documents, Files, Stationery, etc. TARGET SEGMENT : PSUs, Govt Depts, Large & small Corporates, Banks,Insurances, NBFC s, FIIs, Law departments, Education sectors record rooms and archival stoarge etc. Our internal study shows that it saves more than 70% space or in another way, in the same space you can store 70% more files, documents (shown in optimizer CD) Optimizer Training 3

4 Brief Description The OPTIMIZER Range of Storage Systems are ideally suited for Heavy Duty as well as Normal usage Storage needs for application in the offices and are space saving, compact & easy to handle for storage & retrieval of all kinds of files, documents, stationery, etc. Optimizer Training 4

5 What is Optimizer Optimizer is a space saving system and is a arrangement of bodies, back-to-back & side-by-side and fixed on the understructure in such a way that allows the system to move on pre-fixed channels. Channels are grouted on the floor. How it works Optimizer bodies arranged/fixed side-by-side, back-to-back which rests on understructure & which moves on channels with the help of bearing and other fittings attached to understructure. One can move the system on the rails, lock & unlock at particular position for user safety, closing & locking the whole system with the help of locking stiffner. Optimizer Training 5

7 Types of Optimizer There are two types of optimizer : 1. Push Pull Type (Manual operation): Provision of C type handle given on one of the side panel of the body. Only can be given in P1 and P2. Optimizer Training 7

8 Push pull Type Push pull Optimizers as the name suggests have to be operated manually. Push pull Optimizers comes in two models P1 and P2 This is designed and is kept limited to P2 only because as we increase the no. of bodies, the weight of the system increases and as the weight increases it is difficult to operate manually. This difficulty gives us an idea to come out with Drive Type concept. Optimizer Training 8

9 Drive Type 2. Drive Type : Drive wheel (Image below) made up of Polyuretheneis provided which helps user to move the bodies easily on the channels without much effort. In standard configuration, we can give from D2 to D5. Optimizer Training 9

10 Drive Type 1. Drive type optimizer is easy to operate and doesn t require mucheffort as the system moves with the help of chains which is fitted within drive wheel. 2. There is lot of accessories attached to Drive wheel which is there to move the optimizer in totality like Drive wheel, shaft & its settings, chains and bearings etc. These all accessories are covered in DRIVE UNIT COVER whichis over & above the body, which is nearly half the height of body. 11 Type of Bodies SINGLE STATIC bodies are single and fixed (non-movable) and act like a wall at one end of the system. SINGLE LAST bodies are single and movable. They are placed at the other end of the system and attached with locking stiffner which locks the system. The basic difference is it is movable and has drive unit cover TWIN MOBILE bodies are arranged back-to-back with common side panel and common back panel. It is called twin mobile because they are double sided movable bodies. Optimizer Training 11

13 P1 Because, P stands for Push pull type and 1 because of existence ofonly one body (main body). 14 Before going to next slide, we need to understand what s mean by 2 and add-on 1. Adding one body to the existing main body side-by-side is called add-on unit. 2. When one add-on unit is added, it is called P2 (2 because one main body + one add-on) considering push pull type. It will be called D2 when Drive type configuration. 3. There is common side panel sharing between main and add-on unit. Optimizer Training 14

17 D3 -If with one main body, two add-on units are arranged side-by-side, it is called D3 D3 = one main body + 2 add-on s. 20 As seen from the diagrams shown before, each Bay comprises of the Main Unit, Undercarriage, Drive Units ( Except on Single Static Body), Drive Unit Covers, Label Holders, Fittings,etc. Channels are to be considered separately as per the layout configuration. 24 SYSTEM WEIGHT Lets move on to the DEAD weights of the system One by One. But what is Dead weight? It s a weight of the system without any external weight. This will help you in understanding the total weight of the system and its impact on the floor in terms of load bearing capacity of the floor.. Please Note that Load bearing capacity, a structural Engineer will suggest after inspecting the Building. Optimizer Training 24

31 UDL Uniformly Distributed Load It means uniformly distributed load allowed per shelf. For example --if UDL is 40 Kg, allowed distributed load per shelf is 40 kg. Now the Question is How to Calculate the UDL per shelf. Lets Understand ---- The UDL capacity is totally dependent upon the load carrying capacity of Understructure which is pre-determined and is mentioned in below chart. Optimizer Training 31

33 STEPS TO CALCULATE STEPS Load carrying capacity of D Kg For Calculating UDL, We have to consider Twin Mobile body module Now, In TD2, No. of bodies shall be 4 In std. Offering, no. of shelf is 4 and hence no. of loading level will be Now, Total no. of shelfs in TD2 (5 x 4) 5 20 Divide Load carrying capacity by total no. of shelf in TD2 (1200 / 20) 60 KG hence UDL per shelf in D2 is 60 Kg Optimizer Training 33

34 LETS TRY AND FIND OUT Lets Try Load carrying capacity of D Kg For Calculating UDL, We have to consider Twin Mobile body module Now, In TD3, No. of bodies shall be In std. Offering, no. of shelf is 4 and hence no. of loading level will be Now, Total no. of shelfs in TD3 Divide Load carrying capacity by total no. of shelf in TD3?? hence UDL per shelf in D3 is? 36 SAFE LOAD Safe Load is the maximum load that the shelf can carry without hampering the capacity of the understructure The maximum load bearing capacity of a shelf is 80 kgs. Safe Load is therefore 80kgs or UDL whichever is less Eg : If the UDL is 120 kgs, and the maximum capacity of the shelf being 80 kgs, the safe load for the particular body of optimizer will be 80 kgs. 39 Quality Tests performed on optimizer Godrej performs various quality tests on each and every product before it actually reaches to customer and so is the case of optimizer. Quality Tests include : 1. Powder coated panel 2. Chemical analysis 3. On Packing material cartons 4. Plated material like nickel / cromeplated. 5. Powder baking tests 6. Product testing 7. A Centralized locking arrangement is provided through Locking Stiffener mounted onto on the drive cover unit of the Last Twin Mobile Unit so that it gets locked on channels when all the units are brought together. 2.
