17 ATP (2) Perishable Foodstuffs Overall goal: Food safety and hygiene What perishables?: Meat Fish Dairy products (milk, butter, cheese, etc) So far not fruit and vegetables International transport on territory of at least 2 Contracting Parties (some countries also use it for national legislation)
18 ATP (3) Perishable Foodstuffs Transport by road, rail and sea journeys under 150 km Sets maximum temperature for different foodstuffs Test procedures to ensure refrigeration equipment meets standards and can maintain safe temperatures Certificates of conformity recognised by all Contracting Parties. Vehicle plates. Facilitation
19 ATP (4) Perishable Foodstuffs Results in next year more secure ATP documents, more efficient procedures for testing that vehicles including older vehicles have adequate refrigeration capacity Challenges countries wish to advance at different speeds, unanimity required for acceptance of amendment proposals. Strategic vision fruit and vegetables, more concentration on energy efficient and environmentally friendly transport
