Conexus Logistics Update Wednesday, September 21st Bryce Carpenter Director of Industry and Community Outreach

What is Conexus Indiana

Conexus Indiana Logistics Council (CILC) CILC is a statewide forum of 55 logistics executives and thought leaders from throughout Indiana representing the following logistics sectors air; infrastructure; rail; trucking; warehousing; distribution; waterborne; advanced manufacturing and service firms Founded in 2008 Started with the original task of creating a statewide logistics plan Published first plan in 2010 Focus is Enhancing the environment for companies in advanced manufacturing and logistics to grow their business Create a more attractive environment for manufacturing and logistics companies to relocate to or expand in Indiana Create high paying jobs for Hoosiers

How do we interact with Government Organizations

Statewide Regional Logistic Councils Statewide Regions Northwest North Central Northeast Central Southwest Southeast Participation logistics industry representatives in each region Mission Forum that identifies regional logistics needs with statewide implications Act as the recognized entity to bring awareness to government leaders Identify research needs for the transportation and logistics industry

What is included in these plans With the statewide plan and 6 regional logistics plans we have identified a combined 270 projects throughout the state Including Blue Ribbon Panel and Finish what you started While we included rail, water and air, they are not included in the total price Both state and local projects are included Total cost of the projects identified $25,912,130, Prices and routes verified by INDOT Local projects have been adjusted from state standards How are these projects broken down State Classification Tier 1, 2, 3, 4 Local Classification Tier 1, 2, 3, 4

Examples of Projects

Examples of Projects

Public Outreach Program Meeting with County Commissioners, Mayors, Town Council leaders, City Planners, Economic Development organizations, Metropolitan Planning Organizations and planning organizations We have identified a combined 270 projects throughout the state Including Blue Ribbon Panel and Finish what you started Asking for simple feedback: What do you like What don t you like What have we missed What do we do with the feedback Council implementation INDOT meetings

Public Outreach Status Here is where we stand: 127 Meetings 42 Counties 27 Cities We meet bi-weekly with INDOT to review and discuss feedback from each meeting 6 projects have been highlighted for modification 5 projects have been highlighted for removal Identified 21 projects in all 6 regions from the Conexus plans that have already began, totaling $1.027 billion.

Examples of Feedback Mayor of Madison Damon Welch They do not believe BRP project #7202 is worth the price. Development for the City and County is being experienced in the Southwest corridor therefore an improved connection to Jeffersonville via a widened SR62 is a greater priority. Mayor of Greenfield Chuck Fewell Strongly supports both the project and the methods. Highlighted project #4803 as particularly impactful on downtown due to the left hand turns heavy trucks are making right now. Mayor of Fort Wayne Tom Henry Supports the projects identified for the County. Firmly believes that project #0204 and #0207 should be combined as its very important they are both addressed. ROI will not be there if they are only done individually.

Industry Goals Our industry partners have identified the following as minimum of investment they would support Improved maintenance to take our roads from poor to excellent - $290 Finish What You Started (U.S. 31, I-69 Sec. 6, Illiana Express.) - $85.5 Blue Ribbon Panel Projects $ Conexus Tier 1 State Classification - $ Total investment for this level - $1, *Prices listed in millions *Prices broken down over 20 years
