3 New Functions (not display specific): JALIS 2.13 RELEASE NOTES 1. Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) calendar and clock Displayed on all JALIS forms a. Displays the current GMT date and time. b. The time only advances on the currently displayed form. After returning to a previous form, the time should update after one minute. 2. Open form counter Displayed on all JALIS forms. a. Displays the number of JALIS forms currently opened to help manage issues associated with opening multiple JALIS forms. 3. Choose Display Columns button Available on the following forms: Mission Advanced Search; Airlift Request Advanced Search. This function allows the user to select columns to display. To use: a. Press the Choose Display Columns button to open the Show/Hide Columns popup window. b. Select the check boxes of the columns you wish to display. c. Select All button Press to select all check boxes d. Select None button Press to clear all check boxes. e. Press the Done button 4. Filter/Column Presets: Load button Available on the following forms: Mission Advanced Search; Airlift Request Advanced Search; Aircraft Status. This function allows the user to select a preset filter and column combination. To use: a. Press the Load button to open the Existing Input Sets popup window. b. Left click on the name of the filter/column preset you wish to use. Page 3 of 25
4 c. Press the OK button. 5. Filter/Column Presets: Save button Available on the following forms: Mission Advanced Search; Airlift Request Advanced Search; Aircraft Status. This function allows the user to save a specific setting of filters and visible columns for future use. To use: a. Set the filters and columns as desired. b. Press the Save button to open the Save Current Filters popup window. c. Type the name you want to apply to the filter/column setting. d. Press the Save button. 6. Filter/Column Presets: Delete button Available on the following forms: Mission Advanced Search; Airlift Request Advanced Search; Aircraft Status. This function allows the user to delete previously saved filter/column settings. To use: a. Press the Delete button to open the Existing Input Sets popup window. b. Left click on the name of the filter/column setting you wish to delete. c. Press the OK button. d. When asked, Are you sure you wish to delete the filter set X?, press the OK button. 7. Exit confirmation JALIS will ask you to confirm that you want to exit before closing. Page 4 of 25
5 Air Terminal / Mission Advanced Search 1. Mission Search section a. Msn Number Note: You must enter an ICAO code in the Airport ICAO field. (See 3 below) i. Manual entry Type the desired Mission Number directly into the field ii. Bookmark Bookmark the desired Mission Number into the field Example, 1. KG% will display all Mission Numbers beginning with KG ; 2. %753 will display all Mission Numbers ending with 753 ; 3. %2% will display all missions with 2 anywhere in their Mission Number; 4. % will display all missions b. Call Sign i. Manual entry Type the desired Call Sign directly into the field c. Search button Initiates the Mission Search criteria without regard to Date Range and Date Range Filters 2. Date Range Search section All dates are GMT a. Start Date Used to determine the beginning date of the desired search results i. Manual entry Type the desired date directly into the field (use date format ddmmyyyy) ii. Calendar Double click on the field to open the calendar. Select the desired date and press the OK button. b. End Date Used to determine the end date of the desired search results i. Manual entry Type the desired date directly into the field (use date format ddmmyyyy) ii. Calendar Double click on the field to open the calendar. Select the desired date and press the OK button. c. Search button Clears the Msn Number and Call Sign search fields and initiates the Date Range Search 3. Airport Filter section a. Airfield ICAO Required filed for all searches: Allows the user to specify the airport by entering the airport s ICAO code. i. Manual entry Type the desired ICAO code(s) directly into the field. 6 ii. LOV Double click on the field to open the ICAO LOV. Select the desired ICAO press the OK button. b. HAZMAT Only check box When checked, only missions scheduled to carry HAZMAT cargo will be displayed. c. DVs Only check box When checked, only missions scheduled to carry Distinguished Visitors (DV) will be displayed. d. Clear Filters button Clears all filters in the Date Range Filters section. 4. # of Missions Indicates the number of missions displayed. 5. Sort Order section a. Sort up to three columns - Use the Drop Down LOVs to select your desired sort order b. Use the Desc check boxes to determine ascending or descending order for each sorted column. Sort defaults to ascending order. c. Select Defaults button Sets the Sort Order fields to the default settings of 1. Departure Date; 2. Aircraft Type; 3. Not specified 6. Columns a. Msn Number Mission Number of the mission b. Call Sign Call sign of the mission c. AC Type Type of aircraft flying the mission d. Arr Date Date the mission is scheduled to arrive at the airport i. Field is left blank for a mission s first departure e. Arr Time (z) Time the mission is scheduled to arrive at the airport i. Field is left blank for a mission s first departure f. Arr From ICAO code of the mission s last departure airport i. Field is left blank for a mission s initial departure g. Scheduled Pax Number of passengers the mission is scheduled to arrive with i. Field is left blank for a mission s initial departure h. Scheduled Cargo Amount of cargo (in pounds) the mission is scheduled to arrive with i. Field is left blank for a mission s initial departure i. Grnd Time The mission s scheduled ground time at the airport i. Bookmarks Bookmarks the mission number of the selected mission b. Display Flight Advisory Opens the Flight Advisory form and pre-populates it with the selected mission s information. c. Display Flight Summary Opens the Flight Summary form and pre-populates it with the selected mission s information. d. Modify Mission Opens the Flight Planning/Flight Itinerary tab with the selected mission s prototype. If no prototype mission exists, one will be created automatically. e. Cancel Mission Opens the Cancel Flight Advisory and Generate Message form and pre-populates it with the selected mission s information. Page 7 of 25
8 Input Airlift Request JALIS 2.13 RELEASE NOTES 1. New features: a. The Input Airlift Request form now opens in Input Mode rather than Query Mode. b. The Lock for update check box must be selected before the request can be modified. c. Two new status definitions have been added: i. Incomplete the Airlift Request record has been created and saved to the database but is still missing required information and cannot be validated. ii. Not Submitted all required information has been entered on the Airlift Request, but it has not been submitted to the scheduling agency by the requestor. d. Incomplete and Not Submitted airlift requests can be deleted by the requestor. e. Incomplete and Not Submitted airlift requests cannot be scheduled, regretted, cancelled, or passed off. f. Request information can be entered in any order. g. Pressing the Save button or blue disk icon checks the request for required information and lists the missing data fields. Page 8 of 25
9 h. Remote Requestors that do not have the Validator role can only input airlift requests for their own organization. i. At least one passenger must be manifested if the number of passengers is greater than zero. To manifest a passenger: i. Press the Passenger button to open the Select Passengers popup window. ii. Use the filters to narrow your search iii. Press the green-plus button or double-click on the passengers you wish to manifest. j. Support Codes have been moved to their own tab. To assign Support Codes: i. Press the Support Codes button to open the Select Support Codes popup window. ii. Use the scroll bar to find the appropriate codes. iii. Press the green plus button or double-click on the support codes you wish to assign. k. A remark template explaining the purpose of travel and estimated commercial cost must be completed for all airlift requests. If the airlift request is Priority 2, the compelling operational consideration and reason commercial travel was found unacceptable must also be completed in the template. l. A label is provided on the left upper corner of the airlift request that displays the current mode: Input or Query m. To switch from Input mode to Query mode, press the Query Mode button under the Input label. To switch from Query mode to Input mode, press the Input Mode button under the Query label. n. To views details of a requested airport, right-click on the ICAO field and select ICAO Details from the utility menu. 2. Creating an airlift request a. Enter all required information i. DTG ii. Lift iii. UIC iv. PUJC (PUJCs for airlift requests including HAZMAT must end in QY ) v. Authorized by Name and Title vi. Departure ICAO vii. Desired Departure viii. Earliest Departure Page 9 of 25
10 ix. Arrival ICAO x. Desired Arrival xi. Latest Arrival xii. PAX # xiii. Cargo Wt xiv. Request Coordinator name, phone numbers, and addresses xv. Press the Save button and JALIS will list any errors related to missing required information. If the airlift request has passengers or cargo, additional information will be required. c. To manifest passengers: i. Select the Passenger tab ii. Press the Passengers button iii. Use the filters to find the required passengers iv. Press the Add (green plus) buttons, or double-click on the passenger s name, to place the person on the request. d. To modify an existing passenger s information: i. Press the Passengers button ii. Find and highlight the passenger to be modified iii. Press the Edit button to the right of the highlighted row iv. Modify the data on the Passenger Maintenance screen, as required v. Press the Save (blue disk) button vi. Press the red door icon to close the Passenger Maintenance screen. e. To create a new passenger: i. Press the Passengers button ii. Press the Create New Passenger button to open the Passenger Maintenance screen iii. Enter the required passenger information iv. Press the Save (blue disk) button v. Press the red door icon to close the Passenger Maintenance screen f. To manifest cargo: i. Select the Cargo tab ii. Double-click on the Code field iii. Select a cargo code that best describes the item being manifested. iv. Enter the dimensions (in inches) of the cargo item being manifested v. Enter the weight (in pounds) of the cargo item being manifested Page 10 of 25
11 vi. FOR HAZMAT CARGO ONLY: Select the appropriate Passenger Eligibility code. vii. FOR HAZMAT CARGO WITH A PASSENGER ELIGIBILITY CODE OF P1 OR P2 ONLY: Select whether an escort is required to travel with the HAZMAT cargo per the Air Force Interservice Manual (I) (a.k.a. NAVSUP PUB 505) g. To complete the required remarks: i. Select the Remarks tab ii. Select the remark row with the remarks template beginning with Purpose of Travel iii. All airlift requests must have the Purpose of Travel and Equivalent commercial travel costs completed. iv. Priority 2 airlift requests must have Compelling operational considerations and Reason commercial travel was found unacceptable completed. h. To select Support Codes: i. Select the Support Codes tab ii. Press the Support Codes button to open the Select Support Codes popup window. iii. Use the scroll bar to find the appropriate codes. iv. Press the green plus button or double-click on the support codes you wish to assign. i. Press the Save button to check for any errors related to missing information. j. When all required information has been completed, press the Submit button on the System Log popup to complete the request and submit it to the scheduling agency. 3. Cancel an airlift request Note: The Cancel button is only used when the airlift request is to be cancelled, not regretted. a. Press the Cancel button. b. Press the Yes button to confirm that you want to cancel the airlift request. c. Double-click on the code that best describes the reason for cancelling the airlift request. d. Press the Yes or No when asked if you want to create a Regret message. Page 11 of 25
12 4. Un-cancel an airlift request Note: Airlift Requests can only be Un-cancelled if the desired dates are in the future and no cancellation message was created. a. Press the Uncancel button, if available. b. Press the Yes button to confirm you want un-cancel the airlift request. Page 12 of 25
13 Mission Advanced Search (non-scheduler users) 1. Mission Search section a. Msn Number i. Manual entry Type the desired Mission Number directly into the field ii. Bookmark Bookmark the desired Mission Number into the field Example, 1. KG% will display all Mission Numbers beginning with KG ; 2. %753 will display all Mission Numbers ending with 753 ; 3. %2% will display all missions with 2 anywhere in their Mission Number; 4. % will display all missions b. Call Sign i. Manual entry Type the desired Call Sign directly into the field ii. Wildcard search Use the standard JALIS wildcard (%) search. Example, 1. PAT% will display all Call Signs beginning with PAT ; 2. %445 will display all Call Signs ending with 445 ; 3. %2% will display all missions with 2 anywhere in their Call Sign; 4. % will display all Call Signs c. Search button Initiates the Mission Search criteria without regard to Date Range and Date Range Filters 2. Date Range Search section a. Flying Unit Provides the user the ability to display one or more flying units by entering or selecting the unit s name. i. Manual entry Type the desired Flying Unit s name(s) directly into the field. Multiple entries should be separated by a semi-colon (;). ii. LOV Double click on the field to display the Flying Unit LOV. Select the desired flying unit(s) by selecting the appropriate check box. 1. VR% will display all flying units with Flying Units with names beginning with VR ; 2. %RFC will display all flying units with names ending with RFC ; 3. %DET% will display all flying units with DET anywhere in their name; 4. % will display all flying units c. Org Code Provides the user the ability to display one or more flying units by entering or selecting the unit s Organization Code.. i. Manual entry Type the desired Flying Unit s Org Code(s) directly into the field. Multiple entries should be separated by a semi-colon (;). ii. C12% will display all aircraft types beginning with C12 ; 2. %40 will display all aircraft types ending with 40 ; 3. %12% will display aircraft types with 12 anywhere in their designation; 4. % will display all aircraft types e. Tail Number Provides the user the ability to select missions scheduled on specific aircraft. i. Manual entry Type the desired Tail Number(s) directly into the field. Multiple entries should be separated by a semi-colon (;). ii. LOV Double click on the field to display the Mission Tail Numbers LOV. Select the desired tail number(s) by selecting the appropriate check box % will display all tail numbers beginning with 165 ; 2. %050 will display all tail numbers ending with 050 ; 3. %76% will display all tail numbers with 76 anywhere in the number; 4. % will display all tail numbers f. ICAO Provides the user the ability to display missions flying to specific airports by entering the airports ICAO codes. i. Manual entry Type the desired ICAO code(s) directly into the field. 16 ii. LOV Double click on the field to display the ICAO LOV. Select the desired ICAO code(s) by selecting the appropriate check box. 1. Itinerary Provides the user the ability to display missions based on their direction of travel and the sequence of their scheduled airports. ICAOs should be separated by a semi-colon (;). i. KADW;EDDS will display all missions flying from Andrews AFB and Stuttgart, German. (Intermediate stops are allowed.) ii. K%;O% will display all missions flying from CONUS to the Middle East. h. Schd Orgs Provides the user the ability to display missions based on their scheduled lifts. i. Manual entry Type the desired Lift s organization name(s) directly into the field. Multiple entries should be separated by a semi-colon (;). ii. LOV Double click on the field to display the Lift Codes LOV. Select the desired lift s organization name (s) by selecting the appropriate check box. 1. DET% will display all Organization Names beginning with DET ; 2. %BN will display all Organization Names ending with BN ; 3. %CVW% will display Organization Names with CVW anywhere in their designation; 4. % will display all missions i. DV Pax Provides the user the ability to display missions based on their Distinguished Visitor passengers. i. Manual entry Type the desired DV s last name(s) directly into the field. 17 ii. LOV Double click on the field to display the DV Names LOV. Select the desired DV last name (s) by selecting the appropriate check box. 1. Select the desired Request Status(es) by selecting the appropriate check box. b. UIC Disabled: Defaults to the users organization s UIC c. Org Name Disabled: Defaults to the users organization s UIC d. PUJC Provides the user the ability to display airlift requests with specific PUJCs. i. Manual entry Type the desired PUJC(s) directly into the field. Multiple entries should be separated by a semi-colon (;). ii. LOV Double click on the field to display the PUJCs LOV. Multiple entries should be separated by a semi-colon (;). ii. LOV Double click on the field to display the DV Names LOV. Select the desired DV name (s) by selecting the appropriate check box. 1. Filter/Column Presets: Load button This function allows the user to select a preset filter and column combination. To use: a. Press the Load button to open the Existing Input Sets popup window. b. Left click on the name of the filter/column preset you wish to use. c. Press the OK button. 8. Filter/Column Presets: Save button This function allows the user to save a specific setting of filters and visible columns for future use. To use: a. Set the filters and columns as desired. b. Press the Save button to open the Save Current Filters popup window. c. Type the name you want to apply to the filter/column setting. d. Press the Save button. 9. Filter/Column Presets: Delete button This function allows the user to delete previously saved filter/column setting. To use: a. PUJC - Priority, Urgency, Justification, and Category codes for the airlift request h. Depart ICAO - Requested departure airport code i. Depart Date - Desired departure date j. Arrival ICAO - Requested arrival airport code k. Arrival Date - Desired arrival date l. Pax - Number of passengers requested m. Cargo - Total amount of cargo (in pounds) requested n.
