5 CITY LOGISTICS IN A FUA PERSPECTIVE A city logistics project with a wider territorial approach, the Functional Urban Area (FUA). SULPiTER takes into consideration 1. the functional transport & economic relations between inner urban centres (the usual and limited territorial target of public regulations) 2. the surrounding urban territories, 3. the functional transport & economic relations within FUAs not affecting downtowns. Benefit: solid database of city logistics good practices & successful methodologies on training activities. C-Liege on energy efficiency solutions in urban freight. Benefit: experiences in setting up Freight Quality Partnerships & the job of the City Logistics Manager, as well as in engaging in public-private cooperation for urban freight SMILE on energy efficient city logistics pilots & transport modelling. Benefit: pilots results will be used to increase the SULPiTER authorities knowledge & as an input to their policies; the SMILE model developed at urban level is upgraded & tuned to work at FUA level. ENCLOSE on the development of SULPs. Benefit: bringing the experience on policy making in small-medium cities to a wider territorial FUA level in the SULPiTER FUAs. BESTUFS best practices and experiences in urban freight will be put of the disposal of the SULPiTER PPs. NOVELOG on urban freight policies. Benefit: using their pilots & research results to guide the FUAs in better freight mobility planning SUCCESS on urban freight policies. Benefit: using their pilots & research results to guide the FUAs in better freight mobility planning CITYLAB on urban freight policies. Benefit: using their pilots & research results to guide the FUAs in better freight mobility planning VREF Research & Educational Foundations, MetroFreight & CoE- SUFS (VREFs): experiences in urban logistics at global level will be put at the disposal of the PPs allowing an advanced baseline for a topic not previously tackled by the CE Programme.
