1 FACTS DMS Dock Management System Complement your dock operation with DMS, Carrier Logistics' Dock Management System. Whether for inbound or outbound freight, DMS improves dock productivity, enhances loading efficiency, reduces misdirects and increases worker accountability. instantly warned of mis-directs, Hazmat violations, short shipments and overweight trailers at the time of loading. DMS controls freight movement from the time it arrives at the dock to the time it is back on the road again. DMS knows the exact location of the shipment, records the info in pro history and provides a record of every piece of freight passing through your facility. When P&D units return to the terminal, freight gets scanned while it is being unloaded, proving custody of the freight, providing the dock worker with routing instructions, and marking the shipment as on the dock. Scanning can be done at either the shipment or piece level. Work assignments, created from manifest numbers or city routes, can be viewed online, eliminating the need for manual dock productivity tracking. Freight can either be staged or cross docked in to pre-assigned outbound trailers. Employees will be Additional value comes from knowing where your freight is, who loaded it and how long it took them. All scanning information is recorded in the pro history for real-time tracking. DMS will take the guesswork out of your business. Dock Management: another software solution from CLI, designed to keep you ahead of the competition. Contact us for more information. You can: Cut down on the amount of paper that travels on the dock Improve revenue by eliminating unbilled freight Provide real-time freight tracking both internally and over the web Provide customer service with accurate information and eliminate manual dock checks Hold dock workers accountable by capturing employee errors and labor discrepancies Reduce claims costs by providing instant over or shortage reporting Improve dock efficiency by managing employee productivity automatically Cut lost time by improving load planning and freight staging Create alerts for high profile freight. Scan at the shipment or piece level
2 Desk Top work assignment features Work Assignments can easily be created from manifest numbers or city routes. Assigning dock workers to specific work assignments is easy with the online search and list feature. Check the current status of each assignment at a glance Open, Complete, Working or On Break Notes pertinent to the assignment can be posted and viewed on the hand-held scanner. Call or us for more info. sales@carrierlogistics.com Carrier Logistics Inc., 220 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY
3 Details of every assignment are easily viewed including where the freight was staged or the door to which it was cross-docked and loaded. See what freight has currently been scanned by the dock worker. Hand-held scanner features Through the Scanner Menu employees can select work assignments. It is easy for anyone to do a dock check and even change the location of the staged freight. Supervisors can view reports on current worker productivity directly on a hand-held. Workers can choose or view assignment details and notes.
4 At any time, anyone can view a scrollable list of each probill to be loaded, showing: Probill# Shipper Consignee Number of Pieces Destination The suggested staging location makes handling the freight foolproof and reduces mis-directs. When freight is scanned, the details can easily be verified right on the scanner. The scanner will also display the actual door to which the freight should be loaded. Mis-directs can be prevented by setting controls so that any attempt to load freight on an incorrect outbound trailer will require a supervisor s intervention. Supervisors can keep an eye on their employees productivity by seeing the number of minutes since a worker s last scan. Carrier Logistics Inc., 220 White Plains Road, Tarrytown, NY 10591
