39 Suports: Ecoports Tools Workshops first results from 35 small ports (1) Exchange of experience 1. Need to meet colleagues to discuss experience in implementing law in daily port practice 2. No permanent structure available for small ports to exchange good practice solutions Need for Tools 3. Need for tools that support the implementation of practical solutions for environmental priority issues step by step. Example: port security 4. Need for tool that assists in making a sustainable port policy 39

Ecoports and ECOSLC Tools SPP SDM pointed out to be useful to structure discussion on creation of sustainable port management 5. Translation of SDM in national language to be used in workshops was very helpful and necessary to discuss detailed technical environmental issues 6. SDM was very helpful as a checklist of all relevant environmental port issues: it created structure for the small port 7. Meeting in workshops with large, Ecoportscertified, ports improved the results 40

ECOPORTS and ECOSLC Tools have been helpful as step to create awareness and to introduce a basic sustainable management in small ports 43
