3 Additional Shipping Line USA / NZ Trade lane notifications of note: Los Angeles & Long Beach ports are continuing to encounter significant congestion issues at present. There are several reasons for these delays: - Container ship traffic is relatively high at the port, with volumes anticipated to be up 10-20% for October. The number of actual containers moved was also up 7-9% in September, which is the busiest the ports have been at this time of year since ; - Container ships have increased in size, requiring longer times at berth (often as many as 4 days) to exchange import and export containers; - Severe congestion at all Container Terminals in Los Angeles and Long Beach due to a shortage of chassis (trailer) and truck drivers, and more recently slowdowns by members of the ILWU (International Longshore and Warehouse Union). As a result, sailings to and from New Zealand are being severely delayed, some by up to 6-8 days, as vessel operators are forced to wait at anchor off the coast of Southern California for a terminal berth to become available, in addition to the longer vessel processing timeframes. Carriers are taking action to mitigate these delays, including switching Terminals to less congested areas, operating vessels at top speed on the southbound run to make up departure delays, and granting extra Free Time for import cargo due to Terminal Congestion. The short-term outlook for these ports is not positive, and carriers are recommending their customers to allow for longer delivery times. They are working hard to minimize the delays, and will advise further developments as they are known.

4 Hamburg Sud, Hapag Lloyd, ANL, MSC & PIL have advised that effective from the 1 st of December 2014, a General Rate Increase (GRI) will be applied on all cargo from the West Coast of the USA to Australia and NZ of USD150 per TEU. Hapag Lloyd have updated their advice regarding a Booking Cancellation Fee of NZD100 per container, which will now be implemented with effect from the 17 th of November The fee will apply to all bookings that are cancelled, transferred or reduced within 2 working days of the vessel s cargo cut-off. Terminal roll over fees may also apply where applicable. Mainfreight has advised that as of the 3 rd of November 2014 the Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF) will decrease by 0.8 percentage points. For the majority of our customers, the new FAF will be 6.0%. Marfret have advised that they will implement a Low Sulphur Surcharge effective from the 1 st of January 2015, to recover additional costs of complying with the new Low Sulphur Marine Gas Oil regulations. They have not confirmed the amount of the surcharge at this time. Hapag Lloyd has advised that they will implement a change in the application of their Low Sulphur Fee (LSF) in response to the change in the International MARPOL rules to lower the cap on Sulphur Oxide emissions. The initial LSF will be USD47 per TEU with effect from the 15 th of December 2014, and this charge will be adjusted on a quarterly basis along with their tariff BAF. The current fixed LSF component of USD12 per TEU has been removed from their BAF formula. This will affect shipments to and from Australia / NZ and North America.

5 ANL/US Lines, Hamburg Sued, Hapag-Lloyd and Maersk have issued reminder notices this month that a Congestion Surcharge has been filed, and will come into effect in the event of labour unrest or action such as strikes, lock-outs, work stoppage or slow-down which may give rise to port congestion or serious disruption to normal operations. In the event of any port congestion, the carriers have advised that a Congestion Surcharge will be applied to shipments destined for, or originating in the USA (including those shipments transiting through Canada or Mexico) at USD800 per 20, USD1000 per 40 GP, and USD per 40 HC.
