3 - Overview: Lot and Serialized processing provide the ability to track Lot and/or Serial numbers against inventory items. The system will keep track of all inventories in the system, on hand quantities, committed inventory against open sales orders, and quantities sold against the specific Lot/Serial numbers. Furthermore the ability to run specific reports that will provide additional information such as Lot/Serial numbers on hand, as well as Received/Issues reports is available with this module. Upon receiving inventory into the system, the user is prompted to enter the Lot/Serial number for each item received. When the inventory is subsequently sold, the user will once again need to identify which Lot/Serial numbers were sold. There are a series of Business Rules that affect.

4 - Business Rules There are a total of five Business Rules to date that have been developed. Business Rules available under the FORMS tab: Business Rules available under the INVENTORY tab: Business Rules available under the SO tab:

5 How it works Setup: There is a field in the Product Master File that must be enabled. The field is located under the OPTIONS section. An item can only be flagged as either Lot Controlled, or Serialized, not both. If an inventory item contains transactions against it, then the Lot/Serial flags can t be modified, and a new inventory item must be setup. Upon enabling either the Lot or Serial flags on the Product Master File, the system will prompt the user to enter the corresponding Lot/Serial number information when inventory is added to the system.

6 Receiving Inventory: Below is an illustration of an example of an Inventory Receipt. This is the screen the user will see when inventory is received, or an adjustment is made to the on hand quantity. The system will require the total Lot/Serial qty s to match the receipt qty as per the example below.

7 Selling Inventory: Depending on the Business Rule Setup, the system will either prompt the user to select the Lot/Serial numbers that are being sold when the order is entered into the system, or at the time of shipping. This is setup based on company preference, and controlled through Business Rules. Below is an illustration of a screen where the Lot/Serial numbers are selected upon entering the customer s order. The user is required to click on the Lot/Serial number that has been sold. The total Lot/Serial quantity must equal the sales quantity as per example below.

8 Tracking/Reporting: Located within the Product Master File is a button called Lot/Serial, this will show the On hand, Committed, Issued, and In Transit Lot/Serial numbers. Use the Filters to toggle between the different statuses within each warehouse to see where the Lot/Serial number is currently at. Clicking on the View Commitment button along the bottom will launch the illustration below: This screen lists all the sales orders that the specific Lot/Serial number is committed on.

9 Within the Transaction History screen, there will be a Lot/Serial Numbers button located along the bottom for each transaction, upon selecting it; the system will display the Lot/Serial numbers that were linked to the particular transaction. Click on Serial Numbers here Additional Reports are available within: Inventory > Reports and Inquiries > Lot/Serial Reports. Below is an illustration of a Lot/Serial issued inquiry for a particular inventory item. The report can be printed to screen as per the example below, and a PRINT REPORT option is also available.
