7 Status of LTO programs As of December 2013 Canada: Ongoing refurbishments and lifetime extension process USA: 20 yrs licence extension of 73 units approved, 11 in revision, 19 letters of intent UK: Licence extensions for several years France: Periodic 10 yrs inspections and licence extensions Sweden: No decision on lifetime extension Germany: Phaseout planned Finland: 20 yrs licence extension of 4 units Hungary: 20 yrs extension of 4 units Switzerland: No extend the licence Russia: Licence extension of different reactors by years Korea: No legal end to the licence Japan: limiting the lifetime to 40 years.
