1 CVR Release Notes Page 1 of 18 CVR Software Release Notes Introduction CVR is pleased to announce Virginia Electronic Vehicle Registration (VA EVR) Software Release This release includes new features to the VA EVR product as described in this document. Please note that a shortlist of significant features is available under the Release scope overview section. Required Installation Date The table below describes the main release and (if applicable) consecutive minor releases available as part of Virginia Electronic Vehicle Registration (VA EVR) Software Release 9.19, along with their deployment requirements, date of availability and required installation dates. The specifics for each release are detailed starting at the next section. Allow dealerships to use either a Client or Central Inventory model 2. Modified Inventory List screen a. Refresh button is added in the Inventory list screen b. Filter criteria section is added in the Inventory list screen c. Manage Inventory button is added in the Inventory Screen 3. Update Inventory Status 4. Items removed from the Inventory List Screen 5. Inventory Reports are generated after fetching the data from the centralized location VAEVR 9.19A B. Release scope overview The primary features and functions available in this release are: 1. Added TNC for Online Rental Locations 2. Added Remote Support Link 3. Added NEW Specialty Plate: US NAVY 4. Polk/Zip Update C. System Requirements VAEVR 9.19A requires a computer with the following minimum hardware configuration: 1024x768 or higher resolution video card and monitor A high-speed internet connection (DSL, Cable, T1, etc.) Keyboard and mouse Any Laser Printer available. One of the following operating systems with the recommended hardware configuration for the OS: Windows XP Professional a. 800 MHz or faster processor b. 512 MB system memory c. 1.5GB available hard disk space Windows 7 Professional (32-bit) a. 1 GHz or faster processor b. 1 GB system memory c. 16 GB available hard disk space Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) a. 1 GHz or faster processor b. 2 GB of system memory c. 20 GB available hard disk space Windows 8.1 Professional (32-bit) a. 1 GHz or faster processor b. 2 GB of system memory c. 20 GB available hard disk space

GB of system memory c. 20 GB available hard disk space Note: 250 MB of free hard disk space should be available for the EVR application and database files for a typical installation. D. Installation Instructions New Installation This application can be used for a New Install or for an upgrade to the new version. During the installation process, click Next to accept the default setup values displayed for each of the prompts. Upgrade Installation Clients must be on version 9.17A or 9.18A to upgrade to version 9.19A E. Enhancements 1. Allow dealership to use either a Client and Central Inventory model Effective this release, users will be able to receive and keep inventory either in a client or a central model based on a web service. In production today inventory is maintained on a per station (also known as location) basis, this prevents the users from sharing inventory items if needed from a single location. As of this release the company can choose to operate on a client or a central inventory model. Users can request support to setup their inventory model as Client or Central by calling in to CVR support. If the company chooses a Central inventory model then the Title clerk will setup their station as a TC and inventory will be issued to deals using a single pool that has been designated by the title clerk If the company chooses a Client inventory model then the title clerk will setup other stations (called locations) on their machine and distribute inventory among the locations, in this case each location will be assigning inventory from their location to the deals that they process. Since the inventory is being managed centrally and internally by the software, all inventory changes, as regards to assignment or status change will be immediately updated into the database and will be reflected on other user s machines once they refresh the inventory. 2. Modified Inventory List screen User can navigate to inventory list screen by clicking on Process > Inventory. By default, the user will see only the inventory items that belong to their station (location). Please find the screenshot of inventory list screen below.

Refresh button is added in the Inventory list screen When user clicks on Refresh button, the client software fetches the latest inventory summary information from the centralized database for this CMF for this location. When the users navigate to the inventory screen they are shown the Inventory Refresh dialogue box as shown in the first screenshot below. The dialogue box closes automatically after the refresh is complete and the latest inventory summary is displayed in the inventory list screen as shown in the second screenshot below to the user...

6 CVR Release Notes Page 6 of 18 B. Filter criteria section is added in the Inventory list screen Effective this release, filter section is added in the inventory list screen. This helps the users to view the inventory based on the filter conditions specified. a. By default show items in all locations will be unchecked. When user checks the checkbox and clicks on Apply Filters button, the inventory list screen will display the inventory items belonging to all the locations (stations) of that CMF. b. Users can view the inventory belonging to a specific inventory type having a specific inventory status by selecting the inventory type from the Type dropdown and inventory status from the status dropdown. These also work independently so if user only wants to a see a particular Inventory type with all statuses they can do so by just selecting the Inventory type and clicking Apply Filter. On the other hand if the user wants to see all Inventory types for a particular status then they can select a Status from the Status drop down and click Apply Filter. c. Users can view the inventory items based on the date range by checking the show only items within the date range of checkbox and entering the From and To date fields.

Manage Inventory button is added in the Inventory Screen User can transfer or change status of inventory items using the Manage Inventory dialog by selecting inventory on the details section and the clicking Manage Inventory button. A new inventory status Mark selected inventory as on hold has been added and while inventory statuses like Unassigned, Pending, Transmitted and Assigned have been removed. Within the Manage Inventory dialog the user can: Transfer Selected Inventory to Location: This option will allow the user to transfer the selected inventory items to another location. Transfer is allowed only for inventory items that are in Available status. Return Selected Inventory: This option will mark the selected inventory items as Returned Mark Selected Inventory as Damaged: This option will mark the selected inventory items as Damaged Mark Selected Inventory as Missing: This option will mark the selected inventory items as Missing Mark Selected Inventory as on Hold: This option will mark the selected inventory items as on hold and this status will be assigned when an inventory item cannot be assigned to the deal since it does not exist on the DMV end, but will be fixed on the DMV end in the future. 3. Update Inventory Status User needs to follow the below mentioned steps to update the inventory status. a. In order to mark the inventory items as missing, user needs to select the inventory from the inventory list screen and click on Manage Inventory button. Now select Mark selected inventory as Missing radio button and click on ok button as shown in the screenshot below.

8 CVR Release Notes Page 8 of 18 b. Now user needs to click on send button in the Inventory status update dialogue box to update the status in the database. Please find the second screenshot below. c. Once the update is successful, condition column in the dialogue box will display the successful update message. d. When user clicks on Exit button, user will be redirected to Inventory list screen and the selected inventory items will be displayed as Missing. Please find the screenshot below. Similar steps will be followed by selecting appropriate radio button when user wants to mark the inventory as damaged, returned or on hold.

9 CVR Release Notes Page 9 of 18 Transfer Inventory: User can transfer the inventory from one station (location) to another (location) by selecting Transfer selected inventory to location radio button and then clicking on ok button. User will go through the set of screens as described earlier (in the case of marking inventory as missing) and transfers the invetory to specified location.

11 CVR Release Notes Page 11 of Items removed from the Inventory List Screen Effective this release, the below mentioned buttons have been removed from the Inventory screen. Please find the screenshot pasted above (in the earlier section). a. Change status This functionality is handled in Manage Inventory dialog as given above. b. Send Update - This functionality is not needed as the update happens immediately after the user has made a change c. New Batch This functionality Is not needed anymore since all the inventory items will be maintain by a central database and will be available for view after the user refreshed their screen d. Delete batch - This functionality Is not needed anymore since all the inventory items will be maintain by a central database and will be available for view after the user refreshed their screen e. Edit button - This functionality Is not needed anymore since all the inventory items will be maintain by a central database and will be available for view after the user refreshed their screen 5. Inventory Reports are generated after fetching the data from the centralized location Inventory report options dialog can be viewed by navigating Reports > Inventory and then clicking on yes button in the Inventory Refresh dialogue box. Please find the screenshot of Inventory Reporting dialog below. Inventory Reporting dialog helps the user to generate different types of reports based on the selections made under stations / Series / Status sections. When user clicks on either Print or Display button then a web service call is made to the host internally to get the details of inventory items for this CMF and location if applicable. Below is the list of various reports along with their respective screenshots.

12 CVR Release Notes Page 12 of 18 a. Master Inventory status report displays the inventory status available across all locations of the CMF for each invetory type. Please find the screenshot below.

13 CVR Release Notes Page 13 of 18 b. Master inventory summary report displays the available inventory based on the stations and series selected in the Inventory Reporting window. This report will display the inventory station wise.

14 CVR Release Notes Page 14 of 18 c. User can view Inventory detail report across all locations based on the series and status selected in the Inventory Reporting window. d. User can view Inventory status summary across all locations of the CMF.

15 CVR Release Notes Page 15 of Added TNC for Online Rental Locations Effective this release, Online Rental companies are allowed to use certain qualified vehicles to be operated for TNC (Transportation Network Companies) use. New Issue and Out of stock transactions are allowed Add the new TNC designation. Standard Renewal and Transfer with Renewal transactions are allowed to Add, Retain or Remove the existing TNC designation TNC designation cannot be Removed or Added with Transfer Transactions. Existing TNC designation will be retained. Vehicle Use: Rental TNC option has to be selected to have the TNC designation on the vehicles. If there is an existing TNC, then the Rental TNC option will retain the TNC designation. If there is no existing TNC, then the Rental TNC option will add the TNC designation.

16 CVR Release Notes Page 16 of 18 Vehicle Use: Rental option will not have TNC designation on the vehicles. If there is an existing TNC, then the Rental option will remove the existing TNC designation. If there is no existing TNC, then the Rental option will retain the vehicle as Rental. New TNC year stickers has been added to process vehicles with TNC designation. Purchase Order screen: Inventory Series Selection have an option to order new 2017 TNC, 2018 TNC and 2019 TNC stickers. Bundle Report: Title & License Summary Report: Decal Issue section has been updated with TNC. Rental-TNC has been added to the Tag work section along with Rental passenger.

17 CVR Release Notes Page 17 of Added Remote Support Link Remote Support Link is added to the Help Menu. 8. Added NEW Specialty Plate: US NAVY Effective this release, New Specialty plate: US NAVY has been added to the Inventory Series on the Plate page. All the Allowable Specialty Plates are added to the Inventory Series.
