1 IRIS Serial Configuration for Galaxy Upload/Download Connections: This document outlines the configuration for both the IRIS dialler and the Galaxy Panel required to perform upload/download over IP connections. This functionality operates in parallel with the standard IRIS Polling and Alarm Signalling over IP, which operates in conjunction with the standard Galaxy PSTN dialler interface. Galaxy Panel Site: It is assumed that the IP address etc will be set as part of the standard alarm installation procedure. IRIS Setup: Configure the IRIS through the serial port using HyperTerminal or equivalent with the following Hayes command string for either Ethernet or GPRS communications: Ethernet: GPRS: AT%A2=12S0=1S37=9%I0=3%I6=10001%I7=10001&K%L4=1<CR> AT%A2=19S0=1S37=9%I0=3%I6=10001%I7=10001&K%L4=1<CR> Where: %A2=12 tells the IRIS to communicate serial to TCP/IP %A2=19 tells the IRIS to communicate serial to GPRS S0=1 sets Auto Answer S37=9 instructs IRIS to set 9600 bps on serial port for incoming calls to match baud rate used on Galaxy RS232 module (see below) %I0=3 Sets the TCP/PPP retry timer to 3seconds %I6=10001 and %I7=10001 sets the TCP port numbers in IRIS for serial communications to note any number can be used as long as the equivalent is set at the calling end see below &K turns flow control off (required by the Galaxy RS232 module) %L4=1 Sets the Character Forwarding Ideal Timer to 50Ms Response should be OK. 1

2 Galaxy Setup: Depending which RS232 connection to the Panel you have please configure the relevant setting (In Yellow) on both the Panel keypad and RS232 module. 6 Galaxy Upload / Download Software (Remote Servicing Suite or Galaxy Gold) Site: Create the site within RSS software and leave most parameters as default. The only change would be to the Remote Port number if you set %I6 and %I7 to a different one as indicated above. These port numbers have to match at both ends as this will be the TPC/IP port number used for the transmission of the Data. When connecting to the Remote Sites you ll be using the TCP/IP connection with in the Remote Servicing Software (RSS). As shown below this is setup when you start the Remote servicing for the site. On the Keypad window click the Connect tab and then select Setup, check the TCP/IP option and make sure the Ethernet Encryption in unchecked. 6

7 Making the Upload / Download connection: To make the Upload / Download connection the following procedure will have to be done. 1. On the Honeywell Remote Servicing Software (RSS) go in to the Site and open the Remote Servicing. Click on Connect then Wait for Call and then OK leaving the password blank. This puts the RSS software in a wait state for an IP connection on the Remote Port number I.E Go to the IRIS Console and edit the Dialler configuration and set the Remote Access Parameters as Followed: Request = Start Data Call Sent by = Polling Engine 01 (the main Polling Engine for this dialler if not 01) IP Address = (RSS IP Address needs to be the public one) Click Save and then Close & Update Polling Engine 3. Once the IRIS dialler has polled in it will pick up the information. 4. The IRIS Dialler will start a data call to the IP Address using Port number set via %I6 and %I7. 5. After a few seconds you should see on the RSS software that the connection is answered and checking password call from site answered checking password. 6.
