3 COMMITMENT TO QUALITY Environmental Dynamics International (EDI) fully commits to quality and excellence in the manufacture and supply of advanced technology for water and wastewater treatment. EDI offers custom-designed and manufactured solutions for specialized, project-specific needs. We engineer all equipment and systems for superior long-term performance and maintenance-free operation. We source diffuser components and aeration products through the company s DiffuserExpress division. We offer wastewater treatment solutions through our Engineered System Division. The Aeration Works division offers complete aeration system installation services. EDI developed and enforces an ongoing total quality management program (TQMP) for the manufacture and supply of advanced technology aeration mixing systems. The TQMP specifically targets our engineering, drafting, purchasing, and manufacturing functions. This program: Implements systematic procedural and test data documentation to isolate and eliminate unacceptable practices and conditions. Standardizes production procedures, fixtures, and tooling. Assures superior product quality and performance. EDI s quality program includes a review of the ISO and corresponding ANSI/ASQC Certification activities as they apply to our products and services. Furthermore, an independent internal quality control program oversees the activities of both EDI and our vendors to ensure that procedures are followed to attain desired results. TQMP activities include: Vendor visits, encompassing review and inspection of raw materials. Quality reviews of product received from vendors. Spot inspections by team leaders at various stages of production. Pre-delivery system shipment checks. Compilation and supply of system operating and maintenance manuals. 2

4 Manufacturing Facilities EDI recognizes the need to provide appropriate manufacturing accommodations to facilitate superior fabrication requirements demanded by our customers. Our 110,000-square-foot complex is dedicated to the design and manufacture of quality aeration mixing equipment and systems. This facility has been carefully planned to: Encompass specialized production lines supporting exceptional quality assurance. Provide storage space for the extensive inventory of quality components and final stage fabricated products. Offer additional full manufacturing capabilities to allow single source responsibility and quality. Testing Facilities EDI has long-recognized the need to test and verify quality and performance parameters of all materials used in our finished aeration system product lines - critical steps to delivering on our promise of excellence to you. To achieve this goal, we: Operate a world-class advanced facility to test for oxygen transfer and mixing performance of diffused aeration systems, including data logging, underwater video monitoring, and complete recording of project testing procedures. Own a quality testing laboratory to evaluate components; analyzing material tolerances and dimensions, operating pressures, and contact angle for air release - all key elements in our quality control program. Measure the field performance of our products, including off-gas analysis testing while units are in service. Routinely test total system components when EDI handles the entire wastewater solution. Supplier Certification and Quality The major components used in EDI s diffuser, aeration, and wastewater treatment systems are produced by companies that are either fully certified to ISO quality standards or are in the process of completing these certification requirements. The following components have been or are being certified as part of the overall TQMP: Stainless steel drops, piping, raw material, and supports PVC piping and fittings -- PVC piping is manufactured to industry-recognized ASTM and Plastic Pipe Institute procedures and formulations; PVC fittings are manufactured to industry-recognized ASTM, NSF, and IAPMO procedures and formulations 3

5 Polyethylene (PE) piping and fittings -- PE piping is manufactured to industry-recognized ASTM and Plastic Pipe Institute standards and the primary PE piping suppliers incorporate ISO Certification; EDI s primary PE fitting manufacturer is ISO certified Diffuser membranes are manufactured with ISO certification before perforation Aeration units -- All other major system components (stainless steel clamps, saddles, and fittings) are manufactured to industry-recognized ASTM and Plastic Pipe Institute procedures and formulations and by companies with ISO certification.
