1 Fall 2012 Little Lambs Consignment Sale First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa Welcome to the 18th Little Lambs Consignment Sale. We are sponsored by First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa. Consignors receive 70% of sales proceeds & our Children s Ministries receive 30%. Consignors will find all the information on what we accept & how to prepare their items for sale in this packet. Please read over the instructions carefully before you get started. Consignors will come to the Church at the drop-off time that is selected at registration. We will review your items to ensure they are suitable for the Fall Sale & that the items are in EXCELLENT CONDITION. We try to catch any unacceptable items at this time. We reserve the right to pull an item off the floor during the sale if it is stained, malodorous, incomplete, or unsafe. Pulled items will be returned to you when you pick up your check & any unsold items. We use an Internet-based computer program along with barcoding technology to operate our sale. All consignors MUST use this program to prepare their items for sale. To participate in our sale, consignors must have a computer with Internet access, a computer printer, & WHITE CARDSTOCK to print their sale tags. Tags CANNOT be printed on regular paper. 2 CONSIGNOR INSTRUCTIONS PLEASE READ CAREFULLY & FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS!! IMPORTANT REMINDERS 1. Each household/person may have only ONE consignor number. We ask that you abide by this rule because we have so many people that would like to participate. You will jeopardize your consigning privileges if you do not abide by this rule. 2. If you consign and work, you cannot check in your consigned items during a shift that you are working. 3. If you are unable to consign after you register, please let us know as soon as possible. If you register to consign & DO NOT SHOW UP, you will not be allowed to register for the next sale. 4. You must have a minimum of 50 items but no more than 160 items to sale. There is a maximum of 15 maternity clothing items & a maximum of 8 pairs of shoes per household. If you have less than 50 items, please share your number with a friend. 5. All items must be entered into the on-line system by Sunday, September 9 at midnight. Once the system is shut down, NO INVENTORY CHANGES can be made within the system even by Little Lambs. 6. If items are not tagged with WHITE CARDSTOCK or hung properly, you will not be allowed to check-in. Your items must be entered into the system in the following way: begin with clothes & separate into gender & then put in size order, smallest to largest. Follow with shoes, accessories & toys. The items must be brought to us in numerical order starting with item The only tape that can be used to affix labels to items is clear packing tape. The tape CANNOT be placed over the barcode. 8. Bring a copy of your inventory sheets when you drop off your items. 9. All items not picked up on Saturday by 5:00 pm will be donated to charity. No exceptions due to space limitations. WHAT WE ACCEPT We will accept fall & winter children s clothing including Halloween costumes, accessories, select maternity clothing & accessories, inside & outside toys, books, videos, baby items (such as strollers, high chairs, & bedding), & baby furniture (such as cribs & changing tables). All bedding & accessories must be suitable for children s rooms. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT UNDERWEAR, PACIFIERS, BABY BOTTLES, or SIPPY CUPS UNLESS IN UNOPENED ORIGINAL PACKAGES. CLEAN YOUR ITEMS WELL OR THEY CANNOT BE ACCEPTED. ALSO ANY ITEMS SMELLING STRONGLY OF CIGARETTE SMOKE OR OTHER ODORS CANNOT BE SOLD DUE TO ALLERGY CONCERNS. Clothing: We will accept sizes 0-14 for girls & 0-14 for boys. WE WILL NOT ACCEPT JUNIOR SIZES. During the Fall Sale we will not accept shorts, swimsuits, short sleeve shirts (note exceptions below), or lightweight clothing typically associated with summer (e.g., linen, seersucker fabric, sundresses, etc). We will accept short sleeve collared polo-type shirts, short sleeve shirts that are part of a set with long pants made of a winter material (e.g., corduroy, flannel, wool), or those that relate to a holiday during the fall & winter season. The holidays include Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas & Valentine s Day. We will also accept outfits/sets that are associated with football season & tailgating wear (e.g., Alabama & Auburn dressy sets for younger children, tops & shorts, football jerseys, cheerleader outfits, etc.). If an item has a drawstring around the neck, it must be removed for safety reasons. If you are not willing to remove it, please do not consign the item. Bring clothes in first-class condition. We will not accept stained, faded, or excessively worn clothing. Also due to allergies, clothes must be free from pet hair, smoke & other foul odors. We will reject any items that do not meet these criteria. Please check all items closely. Even slight stains are noticeable under the bright lights in our gym. Page 2 of 6

3 Shoes & Accessories: We accept children s sizes only (from booties to size 13 & sizes 1-4). Shoes are limited to 8 pairs per household. No exceptions. For the Fall Sale we will not accept sandals, flip flops or water shoes. Shoes must be free of scuff marks or excessive wear. Car Seats: Car seats must be like new. We can only accept car seats that are within 5 years of their manufacture date or not past their expiration date (whichever is the earliest). Dating information is on a sticker on the side or back of the seat. Car seats that have been recalled or car seats with over-the-headbars will also not be accepted (see below). Potential Recall Items: Due to federal law, we are unable to sell items that have been recalled. DROP- SIDE CRIBS are no longer being manufactured & cannot be sold at the Sale. If you plan on selling a different type of crib, bassinet, car seat, high chair, infant swing, or pack & play please the manufacturer, description, identification number (located on the bottom of the crib & inside/back of car seat) & date of manufacture to littlelambstuscaloosa@gmail.com. Put RECALL as the subject of your . We will provide you with a confirmation regarding your item as soon as possible. Bring the confirmation with the approved item when you drop off your items. If you have any questions about any of your items (not just those listed above), you may send an . Remember, we want drop-off to be as smooth as possible & we want your items to sell! Cribs that have been approved to sell (see recall info above) must be fully assembled so buyers can inspect them at the sale. You may bring the crib in pieces but must assemble it in our gym before it can be sold. Pack & plays must be fully opened as well to show that they are working & are clean. Toys: Toys & games must have all pieces. Toys that require batteries must be working to be accepted. We will accept X Box, PlayStation, Wii, or other game systems & their respective games. We do not have a way to check if these are working properly at check-in & will add a disclaimer to each item stating that Little Lambs takes no responsibility for the operation of each system or game sold. The games must be rated E. Regular stuffed animals will not be accepted. Stuffed animals that are interactive may be sold. PRICING GUIDELINES Items must be priced at $1 or above in WHOLE dollar increments. Less expensive items may be grouped together to justify the price. Price your items to sell quickly. We recommend asking ¼ to 1/3 of the new price. Remember that you will be competing with 224 other consignors. ENTERING YOUR ITEMS INTO THE INVENTORY SYSTEM & PRINTING TAGS From fumct.org/#/children/little-lambs click on Consignor Inventory Entry & Tag Printing. Type in Consignor Number & Password (that you created when you first registered as a consignor). Click Login. You will now see a page titled Consignor Item Entry. Click on Work With My Consigned Items (Active Inventory). You should see a page titled Work With Consigned Items. Now you can begin entering you inventory. Under You are entering items for consignor #: make sure you are under YOUR consignor number. You are entering items for consignor #: : Category Next to Category is a drop-down list. Click on the arrow in the drop-down list & highlight the category that your item should be listed under. This will stay the same for each item until you change it. Page 3 of 6

4 Size Next to Size is another drop-down list. Click on the arrow in the drop-down list and select the correct size for the item (PAY CLOSE ATTENTION: We have no control on how the sizes are ordered in this list & apologize for the inconvenience.) This will stay the same for each item until you change it. Description Line 1: you will begin typing your description (this line is REQUIRED). You will only have space for 24 characters in this field. Be as exact as possible including color, design, brand name, etc. PLEASE enter the brand name first on each tag. For example, type Kelly s Kids smocked poodle pink short set. We use this information to search the inventory system & reattach tags that become separated from the item. Description Line 2: is not required, but highly recommended. You can continue your description here from Description Line 1: again you will only have room for 24 characters in this field. Price : enter your price here in WHOLE dollar amounts excluding the dollar symbol (ex. 1.00, 2.00, 3.00, etc.). This will stay the same for each item until you change it. Qty: Enter how many of that specific item you have. If you happen to have more than one of the same items & enter more than one here, the system will automatically generate duplicate items with consecutive item numbers. If you are grouping items to sell as ONE enter a quantity of 1. This will stay the same for each item until you change it. Check To Discount Click this box if you want your item to be half price on Saturday. Failing to check this box will result in your item ringing up at full price on Saturday. This will stay the same for each item until you change it. Check To Donate Click this box if you want your item donated if it does NOT sale. This will stay the same for each item until you change it. Submit Item Once you click on this box your item will appear in the inventory list below. I m finished for now Clicking this link will automatically SAVE your inventory currently entered for access at a later time. When you return at a later time, you will need to login again using your consignor number & password, click on Work With My Consigned Items (Active Inventory) just like you did initially to complete your inventory. If you want to see more than just the past five items that you have entered, click on the box By default, only the last 5 items entered show. Check here to display all items **** You must completely finish your inventory entry prior to printing your tags. Print your tags as the last step. If you make ANY changes to your inventory after you have printed your tags, you must reprint ALL of your tags & reattach them to your items & reprint your inventory sheet. TO VIEW OR PRINT INVENTORY REPORT: Load your printer with REGULAR computer paper to print your Inventory Report. Make sure you bring a copy with you to drop-off. From fumct.org/#/children/little-lambs click on Consignor Inventory Entry & Tag Printing. Click on View/Print an Inventory Report. Review & print as you normally would on your computer. 5 Load your printer with WHITE CARDSTOCK. Tags printed on any other type of paper or colored cardstock CANNOT be accepted because the barcoding scanner will not be able to read it. From fumct.org/#/children/little-lambs click on Consignor Inventory Entry & Tag Printing. TO PRINT ALL TAGS: Click on (Print All Tags). From here each computer is different. Print as you normally would on your computer. TO PRINT SELECTED TAGS: Click on (Print Selected Tags). Click on each box under Check to Print that you want to print. Click on Print Selected Tags at the top. From here each computer is different. If you have pop-ups blocked on your computer you will either need to temporarily unblock them or hold down the Control key & click on Print Selected Tags at the SAME time. Print as you normally would on your computer. TAGGING, HANGING & ORGANIZING ITEMS 1. Tags MUST be printed on WHITE CARDSTOCK ONLY. We cannot accept tags printed on any other color or type of paper. 2. ONLY USE SAFETY PINS OR CLEAR PACKING TAPE TO AFFIX TAGS TO ITEMS. If tape is required, DO NOT TAPE OVER THE BARCODE. Do not place tags inside bags. They must be on the outside of the bag. 3. ALL clothing including onesies, pajamas, & other sleep/lounge wear such as knit tops & pants must be placed on hangers as shown below. Tags must be attached with a SAFETY PIN placed on the front left shoulder of the garment (on the right side as you re looking at it). Make sure the hook is turned away from the tag (the front) like a question mark. Please SAFETY PIN the clothes so that they cannot fall off the hangers (clothes that fall to the floor will be overlooked by shoppers.) This is essential for overalls, v-neck shirts, skirts, & folded pants. Safety pin sets together. Fasten all snaps, buttons, & zippers to show that they are working. Items can be pinned together & hung on a single hanger if necessary. tag 4. For children s clothes & shoes, use US numeric sizes. Do not use small, medium, or large. Give the item a number size even if you have to guess. 5. For maternity clothes, designate the size as S, M, L or XL. Do not use numeric sizes. Only 15 maternity clothing items may be consigned. 6. Arrange your clothes by gender & size, going from smallest to largest. For example, put the girl clothes in order starting with infant sizes. Do the same for boy clothes & maternity clothes. 7. Group shoes & accessories together. Zip tie or safety pin shoes together or place in zip lock bags. Tape the bags shut with the tag securely taped to the OUTSIDE. Do not bring shoes in boxes. Accessories such as belts, socks, tights, hair bows, cloth bloomers or diaper covers, & bibs should also be placed inside sealed bags. Please inspect these items closely on behalf of the shoppers since they will not be able to open the bags. 8. Group toys together. Carefully secure small parts in sealed bags & attach these bags to the toy itself. Tape boxes shut or wrap them in cling wrap. Find a way to make sure that items will not get separated. DROP-OFF AT THE CHURCH Please keep your items in numerical order when you come to drop-off & make sure you have a copy of your inventory sheets. We will not accept any items that are not hung or tagged correctly. If problems are noted at drop-off, you will have to go back into the hall to correct the problems. You will not be allowed to do this at the Page 5 of 6

6 table because it delays all the other consignors who are awaiting their drop-off time. Each consignor has 30 minutes to check-in their items. We will do our best to stay on schedule so no one has to wait. COMMISSION CHECK & UNSOLD ITEM PICK UP ON SATURDAY Commission checks & any unsold items must be picked up on Saturday, September 15 between 4:00 5:00 pm. Checks & access to unsold items will not be available before 4 pm. If you cannot come to the Church during this time, you may send a friend or family member. At 5 pm any items that have not been picked up will be donated & checks will be mailed as soon as possible. NO EXCEPTIONS. Your $5 consignor fee will be deducted from your check. Page 6 of 6
