3 Introduction Globally, Ford Motor Company and its affiliates are committed to being clearly and consistently recognized as one of the leading automotive companies in the world on the environment. Environmental protection is central to who we are as a company and is a value firmly held at all levels of the Company. The total life cycle of our products - from design and production, through handling and use, to end-of-life recycling must be taken into account to reduce the environmental footprint of our products. All Suppliers play a major role in the design and production of our products. As such, every link in the value chain must be aligned to truly ensure environmental care. At Ford's annual Supplier World Excellence Awards event, the Corporate Responsibility Award is presented to suppliers that demonstrate leadership in delivering Ford's supplier environmental requirements and overall leadership in integrating environmental considerations into their business as well as leadership in human rights and working conditions including corporate codes of conduct/ethics; advanced health and safety systems and leadership in corporate governance. 4 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION SUPPLIERS All suppliers and contractors must have knowledge of the Supplier Environmental Requirements, which are part of the Global Terms & Conditions of Ford's Purchase orders. ISO ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT STANDARD Ford Motor Company requires all production and non-production suppliers with manufacturing facilities to third party certify all facilities to ISO ISO is a mandatory requirement for Q1 status. ISO requirements are part of your Global Supplier Database (GSDB online) profile. Check your profile for all of your required standards. The requirement for certification by an accredited third-party registrar will help ensure that all of our suppliers are working to meet their local legal and regulatory requirements, and have actionable continuous improvement plans for the significant environmental aspects of their businesses. There may be more aggressive requirements for specific regions or affiliates. See Frequently Asked Questions. Additional non-production supplier requirements are discussed later in this Guide. RECYCLABILITY, RECYCLED CONTENT AND PARTS MARKING Vehicle Recyclability - Suppliers are expected to support program team recyclability targets by timely submission of IMDS data as required by the Restricted Substance Management Standard (see below under Prohibited, Restricted, and Reportable Substances) and by following the Supplier Environmental Guidelines for Components. Recycled and Renewable Content - Suppliers are expected to consider using materials that have been recycled, wherever component cost and performance is not compromised (Recyclates might require registration according to the REACH legislation). Suppliers have to justify if not using recycled or renewable materials for components identified in the Supplier Environmental Guidelines for Components. Parts Marking: Suppliers must mark polymeric (plastic and rubber) components over a specified weight with material type to support end of life use of materials. See E4 Identification of Polymeric Materials for more details. PROHIBITED AND DECLARABLE SUBSTANCES Ford Motor Company suppliers are required to comply with Restricted Substance Management Standard (RSMS), including its material reporting requirements. Additionally, compliance to RSMS is a requirement of the part approval process (PPAP) and new Manufacturing Site Assessment. RSMS is updated annually. Suppliers are required to certify annually. Compliance to the Restricted Substance Management Standard and IMDS reporting is a part of the terms of doing business with Ford and is a requirement of Q1. 5 CHEMICAL LEGISLATION REACH Fulfilling obligations under Chemical Legislation As per June 1, 2007 a new European Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 concerning Registration Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals "REACH" has entered into force. REACH affects all industries and requires immediate and ongoing actions from OEMs and their suppliers globally. The legislation defines and includes substances, preparation and articles. All suppliers, including their supply chain, are responsible for fulfilling obligations set out under REACH. Each supplier is to ensure that the use and risk management measures for FMC are included in the safety data sheets. Substances on the candidate list (SVHC) shall be avoided as far as possible, otherwise FMC should be notified of their presence in the product. For chemical products (substances and preparations) this is done through the Safety Data Sheet. For articles, this is done through IMDS starting from beginning of Until 2009, suppliers need to send information on presence of substances with CMR 1+2, PBT and vpvb > 0.1% per article to the REACH coordinator for the affected FMC brand. For products purchased outside EU, the supplier is responsible for taking the importer role (e.g. nominating an only representative). If a product needs to be modified due to REACH, all affected purchasing departments shall immediately be notified. Suppliers are further obliged to adhere to any other similar legislation applicable in countries outside EU. Learn more on REACH in Automotive Industry Guideline on REACH. PACKAGING Returnable Containers Conditions for use of returnable containers for production, non-production and FCSD parts are found in the applicable web-guides located on the Global Terms & Conditions Web Guides website. Planning and choice of packing materials, and handling of excess and rejected materials should be in such a way that the total environment impact is minimized for the delivered products and services. Please review the entire list of Global Terms & Conditions Web Guides for requirements applicable to your business. Region-specific requirements are summarized in these packaging web guides. For additional information, the FCSD Packaging Engineering web site is: SUBTIER MANAGEMENT Supplier has a process to cascade all environmental requirements to sub-tiers upon request (e.g. materials reporting requirements, REACH legislation, etc.).. SUPPLIERS ACTING AS SUB-CONTRACTORS ON FORD PREMISES Suppliers acting as sub-contractors will be required to comply with all local requirements with regard to the health, safety and the handling of waste materials etc., as specified by the terms and conditions of the contract. envguide2008.pdf Page 5 of 13

6 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS FOR FACILITIES, MATERIALS & SERVICES SUPPLIERS Suppliers providing facilities, materials or services (Non-production suppliers) have the following environmental requirements, which are an integral part of the Global Terms & Conditions of Ford's Purchase Orders: ISO Manufacturing Sites All Tier 1, Long Term Preferred Suppliers in a factory based business with manufacturing sites including all OEM, Developmental and After Market locations that transform materials are required by these Terms & Conditions to obtain third party ISO certification. Non Manufacturing Sites - Supplier sites with significant environmental impact will also be expected to achieve and maintain third party ISO certification. For select Q1 targeted suppliers, ISO is a mandatory requirement to maintain Q1 or seek Q1 approval. For more information on Q1 see ISO FAQ's. ISO Requirements - Are part of your Global Supplier Database (GSDB Online) profile. Check your profile for all of your required standards. All suppliers are to visit GSDB Online to see their required standards or contact your buyer. SUBSTANCES OF CONCERN Suppliers of non-dimensional materials to Ford must comply with the Restricted Substance Materials Standard. There may be more aggressive requirements for specific regions. All chemical products must comply with substance restrictions as specified in the standard and obtain Brand Toxicology clearance (for Ford clearance, see Occupational and Environmental Health Sciences (OEHS) for more details). Environmentally related data from production and products must be available in the local language to enable environmental assessments. 7 OTHER REQUIREMENTS Other local or commodity specific requirements may be specified including: Establishing environmental work plans, including legal requirement follow-up, improvement plans. Environmental training of suppliers employees and sub-contractors. Sub-contractors working on premises must be informed and agree with local procedures. Product specific requirements (as specified by requester). Materials used by contractor must meet the Restricted Substance Management Standard (RSMS) and safety data sheets on products used on premises must be available. Transportation suppliers must provide Declaration of Vehicle Fleet (vehicle type, age, fuel consumption, etc.) *Volvo requirement * Waste Management and Environmental Testing Suppliers must fulfill all local requirements for handling of waste, chemicals, emergencies, etc. envguide2008.pdf Page 7 of 13

8 SUPPLIER ISO REQUIREMENT Frequently Asked Questions What is the requirement? 3rd Party Certification to ISO by an accredited registrar. Volvo and Mazda may have more aggressive plans for their suppliers to achieve. Ask your local Purchasing contact (see if you are not sure. What suppliers are required to certify? All Tier 1 production and non-production suppliers with manufacturing sites that provide product to Ford. For non-production, this means Machinery & Tooling and Industrial Materials suppliers. What about non-production/non-manufacturing suppliers? All suppliers are encouraged to implement an EMS. Non-manufacturing supplier sites with significant environmental impact may also be expected to achieve and maintain ISO certification. All suppliers are encouraged to visit GSDB Online to see their required standards or contact your buyer if you are not sure. Are all the supplier's sites required to be certified? All manufacturing sites owned by the supplier that provide product to Ford directly must be certified. What about sub tier suppliers? Sub tier suppliers are strongly encouraged to certify to ISO Tier 1 suppliers are also asked to encourage sub tier suppliers. What about satellite assembly facilities? Yes, these are required as well and considered a "manufacturing site". Will Ford accept supplier self-declarations of compliance to ISO requirements? No, only 3 rd party certifications are accepted. Why is 3rd party certification required? -- Why can't we self certify? The requirement for 3rd party certification will help ensure all of our suppliers are working to meet their local legal and regulatory, as well as Ford environmental requirements and have actionable continuous improvement plans on the significant environmental aspects of their business. 3rd party certification will ensure your EMS works. Will Ford accept EMAS instead of ISO 14001? Yes, Ford will accept EMAS, however, we encourage suppliers to pursue dual certification to ISO 14001/EMAS at their next scheduled certification audit. Will Ford accept Chemical Manufacturer's Association's Responsible Care instead of ISO 14001? Yes, Ford will accept Responsible Care (RC) with RC third party certification that the supplier meets both RC and ISO by using the RC system. What type of information does Ford require? Reporting via GSDB Online (through the Ford Supplier Portal) is requested. If you cannot access GSDB Online, you can report status to your STA Engineer. 9 Will Ford audit me or check my certification status? Per the Global Terms and Conditions, suppliers are required upon request to submit documentation certifying they meet all Ford Environmental Requirements. Proof of certification is required for Q1. What happens if a supplier does not meet the ISO requirement? Environmental performance is a key supplier performance metric--iso certification status will affect future sourcing decisions. New Q1 applications require ISO 14001certification. ISO is a requirement for all existing Q1 suppliers. How do I report my status? Suppliers can enter their status directly to their GSDB profile via the GSDB Online tool. Where is the data I entered on the web? Any status that has been reported has been transferred to your Global Supplier Database (GSDB) record. For production suppliers, this data has also been linked to Q1 management database. How can I see my data? Suppliers with Global Supplier Database (GSDB) Online access will be able to see and update their status in GSDB using the GSDB Online tool. For production suppliers, your status is shown on the SIM site screen and will also be linked to your Supplier Improvement Metrics (SIM) Parent Report Card and Q1 status later this year. How do I report my status if GSDB Online is not available? Production Suppliers contact your STA site engineer. Non-Production suppliers contact your buyer. How do I get access to GSDB Online? You will need to obtain special Ford Supplier Portal (FSP) access to the GSDB Online tool from your Corporate Security Administrator (CSA). Instructions can be found online at the Ford Supplier Portal. How do I get access to Supplier Improvement Metrics, "SIM" (Production suppliers only)? You will need to obtain special Ford Supplier Portal (FSP) access to SIM from your Corporate Security Administrator (CSA). How do I get access to the Ford web? 10 Glossary of Terms Certified according to ISO An accredited third-party auditor must verify the environmental management system. CMR Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, Toxic for Reproduction Contractors & Vendors Suppliers of services such as cleaning, maintenance, testing and engineering. The environmental requirements for some contractor types are further explained in Appendix 1. For practical reasons, each business unit will define where the full requirements will be implemented. Contractors are responsible for their respective sub-contractors. End-of-Life Costs Costs for the pretreatment, recycling, recovery and disposal of components in End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs). For Ford European vehicles those costs are considered that occur to comply with the legal targets of the European End-of-Life Vehicle (ELV) directive (in particular 85/95 % recycling/recovery, Annex I and Annex II). Environmentally related data Examples- data on emissions to air, water and soil, use of chemicals, materials and energy, which is relevant to the development and production of the delivered components. Non dimensional material Non dimensional items are those that have no intrinsic shape without containing structure. Exampes of these items are fluids, gases, powders and semi-solids (pastes) lika adhesives, greases and paint, bulk chemicals and seperately packed chemicals in postproduction service kits. Only Representative Natural or legal person established outside the Community who manufactures a substance on its own, in preparation or in articles, formulates a preparation or produces an article that is imported into the Community may by mutual agreement appoint a natural or legal person established in the Community to fulfill, as his Only Representative, the obligations of importers. The Only Representative can represent one or several manufactures, formulators, or producers of articles outside the EU and exporting to the EU. PBT Persistent, Bio-accumulative and Toxic Q Ford's supplier quality standard. Recycled content The portion by weight of a product or material that is composed of materials that have been recovered from or otherwise diverted from the waste stream. Both post-industry and post-consumer materials are considered recycled materials: Post-Consumer Recyclates (PCR) that have passed through the hands of consumers or Post-Industrial Recyclates (PIR) that have at least been subjected to one additional process step and would otherwise require disposal. But: Not home scrap recycling (e.g. direct regranulation and re-feeding in the same facility) Only the weight of the recyclates itself (not the component as a whole) Only actually used recyclates (not those that are only released or approved, but are not assembled) envguide2008.pdf Page 10 of 13

11 Renewable Renewable materials are derived from plant, animal or bacteria resources AND are sustainable cultivated within a human lifetime. Focus for future applications on plant fibers (flax, hemp, jute, kenaf, wood, cellulose etc.) that are in line with the following guidelines: 1. Not increase weight / compromise lightweight (e.g. not coconut in seats), 2. No reduced recyclability (e.g. not change pure polyolefin material family based door trim panel to renewable reinforced one), 3. Do not conflict with interior air quality (smell rating 2) / restricted substances (critical pesticides) / humidity and other specifications, Ensure sustainable supply (in terms of stable supply AND sustainable growing). Recyclability Recycling of materials used in production processes and at product end-of-life. Substance A chemical element and its compounds in the natural state or obtained by any manufacturing process, including any additive necessary to preserve its stability and any impurity deriving from the process used, but excluding any solvent which may be separated without affecting the stability of the substance or changing its composition. Suppliers of "non-automotive products" Suppliers of industrial materials, construction machinery and tooling, and computer hardware that are used in the development, production or marketing of products. SVHC Substances of Very High Concern (Definition of substances included in Article 57, REACH) Tier I Suppliers of Production Material Suppliers directly delivering components and raw materials that are assembled into final products.
