5 Facilities and Capabilities EPC-UK EDSL is based on a remote 1200 acre site at Bramble Island in Essex, close to the international ports of Felixstowe and Harwich. Amenities include up to 720 tonnes HT1 and 210 tonnes HT3 & HT4 of storage capacity; secure HT1 transit storage and EPC-UK s very own licenced dock and bonded warehouse. This range of facilities benefit from regular charter sailings from EPC-UK s licenced dock, to and from the European mainland. EPC-UK also operates a fleet of specialist vehicles (EX II and EX III) throughout the UK and Europe. Licensed under the Manufacture and Storage of Explosives Regulations (2005), EPC-UK EDSL also operate two dedicated weapon-systems process buildings, a testing ground facility for trials, explosives training and destructions grounds. EPC-UK operates a number of dedicated facilities and depots throughout the UK, which affords EPC-UK EDSL a nationwide footprint. 5

EPC-UK EDSL has a teaming arrangement with NAMMO (Demil Division) A/S for the provision of demilitarisation services to the UK MoD. EPC-UK EDSL also dispose of Time Expired Pyrotechnics (TEPs) on behalf of the UK Maritime Coastguard Agency. EPC-UK EDSL has a proven track record in managing successful transportation and comprehensive disposal and demilitarisation programs and services, be it the destruction of fireworks, TEPs, bulk explosives or more difficult weapon system demilitarisation. 6

7 European Distribution Warehouse EPC-UK EDSL operates a European Distribution Warehouse for the supply of demolition stores and related products. This unique facility ensures that products are readily available for supply to authorised customers. 8 Global Logistics and Multimodal Transport Specialist EPC-UK also provide a globally secure door-to-door and integrated service for the safe and compliant transportation of hazardous material and protectively marked goods. The fleet is managed from the two main operating hubs in Alfreton, Derbyshire and Great Oakley, Essex. Vehicles are equipped with GPRS tracking and all drivers are ADR trained, competent and experienced. EPC-UK strives to deliver value throughout the dangerous cargo supply chain: owned, dedicated fleet of vehicles, commercial airline and rail options, and dedicated charter sailing into our own dock as well as full or part charters internationally. 9 Class 1 Consolidation Introducing cost efficiencies to the Class 1 explosives market EPC Groupe offers an established groupage service dedicated to transportation of Class 1 goods the name Groupex was derived from Groupage Explosives. The service enables part loads of Class 1 goods to be loaded with other compatible products into a single consignment and ultimately delivers cost efficiencies to our customers. Leading the way on EU Track and Trace compliance In response to the EU Track & Trace directive 2008/43/EC, EPC Groupe is in the process of developing. By April 2015 it will be a statutory requirement that certain categorised civil explosives being transported throughout Europe must bear a unique number and that records each item s location. combines leading edge technology to enable explosives users to capture data at consignment, pallet, case and item level as well as allowing data transfers between custodians using the standardised European explosives code structure. 9

11 EPC-UK Environment - Bramble Island a very special site Registered as a Site of Special Scientific Interest EPC-UK s site at Bramble Island near Harwich, Essex has many rare breeds of fauna and flora. Additionally the site has been awarded Special Protection Area (SPA) Special Area of Conservation (SAC) We have over 140 types of birds and other wildlife including deer, seals, rabbits and rare moths. EPC-UK staff have an active interest in the site, with a hands-on approach they actively care for the local habitat and protection of species found in the area. Ramsar site The area to the seaward side of the seawall is also a National Nature Reserve (NNR) 11
