Fairfield Union Schools Energy Project Dynamix Energy Services provided an energy project for the Fairfield Union Schools with a guaranteed energy savings of $110,000 annually by upgrading the lighting to LED, replacing limited equipment and installing new building automation controls in its four buildings. The project generated a fifth of the first year savings target in just the first month. DES also helped secure over $60,000 in utility incentives. The project was so successful that the District hired Dynamix for a five year Technical Service and Preventative Maintenance contract. The Project Scope Upgrade to LED lighting systems Replacement of (1) boiler Installation of non-proprietary controls throughout the District Design of user friendly graphical interface for equipment and space controls Implementation of new Staff Thermostat App Installation of new variable speed drives on select equipment Installation of air quality monitoring & supplemental sensors Energy Dashboard implementation for continuous monitoring Implementation of FMX centralized maintenance management system Superintendent Dynamix Energy Services will provide a level of excellence rarely seen in this day and age. I have been able to contact Dynamix at any point day or night, and their response time is always immediate. I cannot begin to express the comfort in knowing, that in the middle of a school play on a Saturday night, Dynamix was there to guarantee the comfort level in our auditorium. The heating and air has not worked correctly in our auditorium since the school was built, but Dynamix was able to correct the issues during this project. Fairfield Union - Over $150K/Year E&M Savings

After Linear LED Option 60% Less Energy + 20% More light Instant On/Off with Crisp White light 5000K Approx 20+ Year Life Fairfield Union HS Lighting Upgrade Dynamix Energy Services upgraded all interior lighting throughout the four schools (HS, MS and 2 Elementaries), the Admin Building and the Family Center Building. Afterwards, the District hired DES to perform similar upgrades to the High School Fieldhouse, Weight Lifting Building and Concessions complex. Initially, multiple temperature lamps were installed in the Board Office so that the owner could make an educated decision on the temperature selected for the LED solution. Academic benefit studies were also shared and the District could not be more pleased.

Controls Upgrade As part of the new Controls Upgrade, Dynamix provided a Districtwide customized Graphical User Interface including 3D building layouts, live building cutaways, animated 3D mechanical equipment, calendar driven scheduling, site lighting control interface, refrigeration monitoring, water leak monitoring, energy dashboard and weather interface for planned control. DES also provided custom mobile solutions (i.e. a custom phone interface that allows client to monitor/operate the temperature in their space via a mobile device, or control entire system). The custom phone app is shown below that allows the staff to adjust their space plus or minus 2 degrees from setpoint, see their room temp and also get feedback on how efficiently they are operating their space.

Peak Load Contribution Management DES also provided the District with it s PLC Management Service, which generates real-time predictions for PJM (Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland Distribution Area) region peaks that affect client electrical demand charges. These predictions are used to provide load shed via Peak Load Contribution reduction. Savings generate a monthly rebate checkfor the owner.

Utility Use Comparison To Base Year Base Year Use vs Current Use DES provides a monthly comparison of energy usage for utilities compared to a baseline year to measure actual savings. This is also summarized in dollars as coordinated with the Utility and Owner. First Month 52% Savings

Facilities Management express + DES has a unique relationship with FMX to provide some very unique services. A couple of these are identified below. We also provided FMX integrated links to the Classroom Thermostat App we designed for teachers. What is the Trend of Spaces Scheduled? What is the Trend of Maintenance Requests? This helps by allowing the systems to be turned on/off automatically at appropriate times. This summarizes any type of maintenance request by staff. You can actually see details of the varied types of requests in FMX including HVAC. This can help you allocate appropriate resources.
