2 INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI IMPORTNT INSTLLTION NOTES: This signage is intended to be installed in accordance with the requirements of rticle 600 of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and/or applicable local codes. This includes proper grounding and bonding of the sign. Sectional UL labels on LED Channels and Backs with power supplies are dedicated to the Canopy Fascia layout on the provided Installation Drawing layout only. Do NOT mix and match pieces with UL's between Canopy Fascia layouts. Installer is to provide all supply wire, liquid tight connectors, and conduit. Black, white, and green supply wire must be 2 WG THHN rated. Uncrate and inspect all pieces upon receiving. Notify PERSON of any damage or missing parts. This document describes only one variation of the many possible Canopy Fascia configurations and is intended only as a guide. Refer to the Site Specific Documents included with your order for more information. Site Specific Documents are shipped with each Canopy Fascia order. They will be located in a box labeled Plans and Screws. If you do not receive the Site Specific Documents or you do not understand them contact Persona before proceeding with the installation. The primary power outlet will determine how to assemble the Back section of the Canopy Fascia. If the power is on the right hand side, follow the Site Specific Document and build from right to left. If the power is on the left hand side, reverse the Back layout ONLY on the Site Specific Document and build from left to right. This will simplify and shorten primary power runs and hookups. ll screws used for the installation of the Canopy Fascia will be # 0 X 5/8 pan head square drive self tapping screws. The laying out of each length of Canopy Fascia before installation will ease the process and is recommended. Each Canopy Fascia layout is designed to include 3 or 6 adjustment gaps in the Back assembly. These gaps are intended to account for measurement discrepancies and are noted on the Site Specific Documents. Gap covers are provided to fully cover all gap openings. Each Canopy Fascia layout is designed to include a 6 adjustment gap at the end of each Front assembly. These gaps are intended to account for measurement discrepancies and are covered by the Front Corners. No adjustment gap is designed into the Front assembly end that is next to the building. 3 INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI SITE SPECIFIC DOCUMENTS: Site Specific Documents are provided to show the location and quantity of parts for each Canopy Fascia layout. There are 2 different types of Site Specific Documents: Standard and Custom. Each dedicated to specific Canopy Fascia layouts: Standard, B & C and Custom - D & E. With the many variations of Canopy Fascia configurations, it may be possible to receive both types of documents at a location. Layout drawings, B, and C are for either single or multiple connected (going around one or more trellis corners) straight Canopy Fascia layouts. They show the most common configurations and will be referred to as 'Standards'. Layout drawing (Figure ) is an example of a straight Canopy Fascia layout colored to show the different areas of information for the installation process. Layout drawings B & C (Figures B and C respectively) are examples of multiple B connected straight Canopy Fascia layouts IMPORTNT: INSTLLER NOTE: Sectional UL labels on LED channels and backs with power supplies are dedicated to the canopy fascia layout on the provided Install drawing layout only!! DO NOT MIX ND MTCH PIECES BETWEEN CNOPY FSCI LYOUTS C Layout drawing is colored as follows: RED: Exploded view of the Canopy Fascia with the parts and locations designated by numbers and arrows referencing the 'Index' column of the parts list (Index column numbers also shown in red). BLUE: Parts list with quantities, descriptions, and UL information of all parts needed for the layout shown in the red drawing. GREEN: Electrical and hardware information. ORNGE: Important UL note. D Layout drawings D and E (Figures D and E respectively) show 2 different 'Custom' Canopy Fascia layouts. 'Custom' Canopy Fascia layouts will include non-90 degree corners and/or inside corners (inverted 'Standard' corners) and/or other unique features. The 'Custom' documents are similar to the 'Standard' documents and include a parts list and numbered locations of parts, as well as any special instructions or parts that are unique to the layout. The Drawings included on layout drawings D and E are done from the top view. Site Specific Document Notes: Every Canopy Fascia order is shipped with the components in boxes with the Site Specific Documents packaged in a box labeled Plans and Screws. IMPORTNT: Call Persona if you do not receive or understand these documents. E Site Specific Documents are only a guide for installation. Site conditions may require adjusting a Canopy Fascia layout but adjustment gaps must remain as they are built into the configuration. Refer to the Site Specific Documents during the installation process. Trellis: - 8 tall (typical) - Measurements from trellis provider. Backs: - Dimensions: 2 (D) x 8 (H) x Various Lengths -Standard Back Length: 7 5/8 - Color: Silver - n adjustment gap is designed into each return and front section to allow for adjustments by installers for incorrect lengths from trellis providers. - The adjustment gap is 6 for 36 returns and all front sections 30 and longer. - The adjustment gap is 3 for 8 returns and front sections less than 30 long. - Layout may be reversed to ease primary wiring and hookup. Fronts: - Dimensions: 3 (D) x 6 (H) x Various Lengths -Standard Front Length: 72 - Color: Yellow - Front sections are designed to end 5 each direction from trellis corners. - Front Corner pieces are 2 (L) x 2 (D) x 6 (H) and will cover the 5 gaps and overlap the Front pieces 6 each direction. LED Channels: - Dimensions: 3 ¾ (D) x ½ (H) x Various Lengths Standard Channel Length: 7 /8 - Color: Yellow - Each power supply will light (7) 7 /8 channels or 20 LEDs total. - Use yellow Heyco bushings provided for holes drilled in Front pieces for secondary wiring to LEDs. - Use connectors provided. - Custom lengths will be 6 longer than needed and must be cut to fit by installer and loose LEDs secured to the channel per the Installation Instructions. 6 INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI UL INFORMTION: The Canopy Fascia is classified as a UL sectional sign. Each electrical component (Backs with power supplies and all LED Channels) will be labeled with a white UL sectional label. The white UL label is placed on the ½ flange between LEDs of the LED Channel and by the power supply cover on the outside of the Back with power supply. In addition to the white UL sectional label the first Back with a power supply of each Canopy Fascia layout will also have a silver UL label placed between the white sectional label and the power supply cover. Each Canopy Fascia layout will be labeled as one sign. Each white UL sectional label contains a part specific number and a total quantity number, (Example: of 5). It is important that each Canopy Fascia layout is installed with the proper UL sectional labels in the proper order. NOTE: Do NOT mix and match pieces with UL labels between Canopy Fascia Layouts. White UL Label Sequence When looking at the front of the trellis, the first LED Channel on the right hand side will be labeled as of _. The sequence will continue leftward numerically for all LED Channels. When looking at the front of the trellis, the first Back with a power supply on the right hand side will be labeled with the next label of the sequence after the LED Channels as well as the silver UL label. The sequence will continue leftward numerically for all Backs with a power supply. NOTE: Depending on the power source location the Back assembly may be reversed to ease primary power hookup. If the power source is on the left hand side, the first power supply in the sequence after the LED Channels, that will also have the silver UL label, will be on the left hand side and the UL label sequence will continue rightward numerically for all Backs with a power supply. NOTE: Persona CNNOT send out replacement UL labeled pieces without first receiving accurate UL information. Pictures of each UL label may be required. 7 RECEIVING THE CNOPY FSCI INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI LBELS: Each Canopy Fascia order is shipped in boxes on a pallet(s). One Canopy Fascia order will be all Canopy Fascia layouts required at a location (Photo ). Each pallet will be labeled on each end with a Shipping Label that will include: -Location -National Sales Number -Order Number -Job Number -Number of pieces on the pallet (Photo 2) 2 3 Each box on the pallet will be labeled with a Quantity Tracking label that will include a box specific number as well as the total quantity of boxes (Example: of 2) (Photo 3). 4 One box on the pallet will be labeled with Plans and Screws and will contain all Site Specific Documents and hardware for the order (Photo 4). NOTE: dditional labels may be present. RECEIVING: Compare the number of boxes, the Quantity Tracking labels, and the Shipping Label Number of Pieces on the Pallet to be sure all boxes are present. Check for any shipping damage. If boxes are missing or damaged refer to Canopy Fascia Issues, Page 8. When first receiving the Canopy Fascia order, it is recommended to open the Plans and Screws box and review all Site Specific Documentation as well as count each piece received. Compare this number and the Site Specific Documents to determine if any pieces are missing. If any pieces are believed to be missing refer to Canopy Fascia Issues, Page 8. PGE 7 OF 8

8 BCK PNEL INSTLLTION INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI NOTES: Use unpainted #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws to secure all backs and covers The Example shown in this document will be assembled assuming the primary power outlet is located on the right side. Thus the Canopy Fascia will be assembled from right to left following the Site Specific Documents. If the primary power is on the left side, assemble the Canopy Fascia from left to right reversing the Back layout ONLY on the Site Specific Documents to ease in primary power hookup. Laying out each trellis length of Canopy Fascia before installation will ease the process and is recommended. Install the Backs according to the UL Information on Page 7. The Backs are to be installed so the silver painted side is to the back and the open unpainted side is to the front when looking at the front of the trellis. Each 36 return and all trellis length front sections will have a 6 +/- gap to compensate for any discrepancies from trellis measurements provided for design. Returns and front sections less than 30 will have a 3 +/- gap. Gap covers are provided to fully cover all gap openings. 9 BCK PNEL INSTLLTION: INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI. Start the Back installation with the Back Corner on the return nearest the designated primary power outlet. Back Corners (425MCDFSCIISCNR90-S or 425MCDFSCIISCNR35-S) are made in 2 pieces and must be screwed together (Photo 5). The Back Corner piece with the tab will fit into the inside of the second corner piece with no tab. Use the screw slots of the second corner piece when fastening the pieces together. 2. lign the Back Corner piece before securing it to the trellis. ll edges must line up with the trellis front and return's face and back. Secure the Corner assembly to the top of the trellis using the provided mounting holes. (Photo 6). 3. lign the edges of the Back return panel (3 : 99MCDFSCIBCK3-S and/or 8 : 99MCDFSCIBCK8-S) to the right trellis return's face and back, and position one end flush to the building wall. Secure the return panel to the trellis using the provided mounting holes. (Photo 7). The panel shown in this example is MCDFSCIISCNR90-S MCDFSCIIBCK8-S 7 tab Trellis front Inside corner no tab T B #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws Inside corner with tab Trellis return 6 Gap #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws 4. lign a 72 standard Back panel (Standard Length: 425MCDFSCIBCK72-S or Standard Length with Power Supply: 425MCDFSCIBCK72P-S; Refer to Site Specific Documents) to the edges of the trellis front and butt the right edge up to the Back Corner piece. Screw the Back Corner and the standard Back panel together as well as the Back panel to the trellis using the provided mounting holes, (Photo 8). 5. Continue to attach panels as needed to complete the front trellis length, leaving a 6 gap. Refer to the Site Specific Documents to determine where each piece goes. 425MCDFSCIIBCK72P-S 8 8" +/ Screw together and install the second Back Corner as done in Steps & 2, (Photo 0). #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws 7. Install the second return piece to the left hand return as done in Step 3, (Photo ) Install the 8 x 8 Gap Covers (99MCDFSCIISCOVER-S) on the back side over the built in gaps (3 or 6 ) in the back assembly using unpainted #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws. (Photo ). Make sure the entire gap is covered 6 Gap 99MCDFSCIISCOVER-S This completes the Back section installation of the Canopy Fascia.. PGE 9 OF 8

10 PRIMRY WIRING: INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI NOTES: Complete all primary wiring before mounting the Front panels. This signage is intended to be installed in accordance with the requirements of rticle 600 of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and/or applicable local codes. This includes proper grounding and bonding of the sign. The Example shown in this document will be assembled assuming the primary power outlet is located on the right side. Thus the Canopy Fascia will be assembled from right to left following the Site Specific Documents. If the primary power is on the left side, assemble the Canopy Fascia from left to right reversing the Back layout ONLY on the Site Specific Documents to ease in primary power hookup. Installer is to provide all supply wire, liquid tight connectors, and conduit. Black, white, and green supply wire must be 2 WG THHN rated. Installer to provide 6' of weatherproof conduit inside the wall area for primary connections. Power supplies will power (7) 7 /8 LED Channels or 20 LEDs total. FSCI WIRING GUIDE ND INSTLLTION:. Determine the power outlet location at the wall (see General Contractor). The diagram to the right and Photo # 2 show the possible options for running weatherproof conduit to the power supply nearest the power source. Remove the cover from the Back with a power supply closest to the power source, and the cover from the 2 x 4 junction box mounted to the power supply (Photo 3). Remove the hole plugs from the junction box and mount any fittings needed to complete the watertight conduit runs. 3. Run primary power and ground wires as needed (Photo 4 & 5). ground wire is mounted in each box and MUST be used. The secondary wiring will require a cable tie to secure it to the conduit to keep it off the bottom of the Back panels, (Photo 6). 4. ll unused fitting holes in the junction boxes must be plugged with the extra plugs (Photo 7). This includes proper grounding and bonding of the sign. Except in the case of a special situation (Inside Corners, Page 6), the Front panels and LED Channels will be assembled from right to left in accordance with the Site Specific Documents. Install the LED Channels according to the UL Information on Page 6. Power supplies will power (7) 7 /8 LED Channels or 20 LEDs total. LED Channels must be installed simultaneous to each Front panel as it is installed. For all Front sections and LED Channels use yellow painted #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws. Each Canopy Fascia layout is designed to include a 6 adjustment gap at the end of each Front assembly. These gaps are intended to account for measurement discrepancies and are covered by the Front Corners. No adjustment gap is designed into the Front assembly end that is next to the building. Slip the correct Front panel (2 : 99MCDFSCIFRONT2-S or 30 : 99MCDFSCIFRONT30-S) over the right hand trellis return and attached Back return (Photo 2). Line up the edges of the Front and Back panels and secure using the precut mounting holes on the top and bottom. Leave the screws on the end closest to the trellis corner out so the Front Corner will slide over the Front panels. The missing screws will be installed with the Front Corners MCDFSCIIFRONT30-S 2. Measure 5 from the right corner of the trellis front, (Photo 22). Slip the first Front panel (72 : 425MCDFSCIFRONT72-S or 95 : 425MCDFSCIFRONT95-S) over the trellis and attached Back panel. Line up the edges of the Front and Back panels and secure using the precut mounting holes on the top ONLY. Leave the screws on the end closest to the trellis corner out as in Step #. NOTE: Leaving the bottom screws out will allow movement of the Front panels to ease the LED Channel wiring process. They must be installed when finished installing the LED Channels. 3. Slide a Front Corner (90: 425MCDFSCIOSCNR90-S or 35: 425MCDFSCIOSCNR35-S) over the Front return and Front panel making sure the Front Corner is square, (Photo 24). If you have to remove or loosen a Front Corner to square it, take care to not pull at the middle as this will bend the aluminum and leave a gap when the Front Corner is reinstalled. Secure the Front Corner to the Front return and Front panels using the precut mounting holes on the top ONLY. NOTE: Front Corners will overlap the Front return and Front panel 6 each. Photo 25 shows a properly installed Front Corner. 23 Leave these screws out MCDFSCIOSCNR90-S PGE 3 OF 8

14 INSTLLTION continued: INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI 4. Measure and mark from the top and right edges of the Front Corner on the trellis front face (Photo 26). Drill a 7/8 hole with a hole saw bit, (Photo 27), and install a yellow Heyco bushing, (Photo 28) Mark hole location 5. Mount the right LED Channel End Cap (425MCDFSCIENDCPR-S) by lining up the top of the End Cap with the top of the Front Corner. Secure the End Cap using the precut mounting hole, (Photo 29). Tie a knot in the secondary power cable for a strain relief (Photo 30). Insert the cable through the Heyco bushing making sure the knot CNNOT be pulled through, (Photo 3). Leave enough cable exposed so it won t fall back into the hole. Use the Site Specific Drawing and the UL Information Page 6 to ease the wiring process. Connect the LEDs to the secondary power cable using the provided wire connectors and a Linesman pliers. Wire connectors are designed to work with unstripped wire. DO NOT strip any secondary wire to bare wire while making electrical connections. NOTE: Connect the Red secondary wire to the Red Striped LED wire and the Black secondary wire to the White LED wire Set the LED Channel on the End Cap and Front panel. lign the right edge of the LED Channel to the right edge of the End Cap and secure it to the Front Corner and panel using the precut mounting holes, (Photo 32). 7. Slide the next Front panel over the trellis and attached Back panel being careful not to leave any gap between Front panels. Line up the edges of the Front and Back panels and secure using the precut mounting holes on the top ONLY. 8. lign the required LED Channel (Refer to the Site Specific Documents and the UL Information on Page 7) using the splice clip attached to the first LED Channel and secure it to the Front panel(s) using the precut mounting holes (Photo 32). Connect the two LED Channels using the supplied wire connectors and a Linesman Pliers PGE 4 OF 8

Repeat Steps 8 & 9 until the final Front panel and LED Channel are required or until the power supply is connected to (7) 7 /8 LED Channels or 20 LEDs total. 0. If additional power supplies are required, mark below the end of the seventh LED Channel. Remove the LED Channel and set aside. Drill a 7/8 hole with a hole saw bit and install a yellow Heyco bushing (Page 4, Photos 26-28). Reinstall the seventh LED Channel and repeat Steps 6 & 9 for the LED Channel powered by the new power supply (Refer to the Site Specific Documents and the UL Information on Page 7).. Terminate the LED string on the seventh LED Channel by cutting the wires flush with the LED module. Cover the exposed wires with electrical grade silicone (Photos 34-36). NOTE: ll bare wire MUST be covered by electrical grade silicone Repeat Step Repeat Step 8 for the final custom length Front panel. This will leave a 6 gap at the end of the trellis. 4. Install the Front return and Front Corner as done in Steps & Mount the left End Cap (425MCDFSCIENDCPL-S) to the left Front Corner as done in Step lign the final required LED Channel (Refer to the Site Specific Documents and the UL Information on Page 7) using the splice clip attached to the previously installed LED Channel. Install one screw on the right side to temporarily hold the LED Channel in place. Mark the LED Channel flush with the left edge of the left Front Corner (Photo 38). Remove the LED Channel and cut with a saw (chop saw preferred). Be sure not to cut through any LED modules Make a mark on the inside of the LED Channel ¾ from the cut end to allow for End Cap clearance. Using the LED spacing and positions on the rest of the LED Channel, mark out the location of the loose LEDs. NOTE: There may be times when no LEDs can be mounted due to space limitations. 8. Remove the paper backing covering the adhesive strip on the LED and place each LED module on the LED Channel. Run a bead of clear silicone along both long sides of each LED to secure it to the LED Channel. Be careful not to cover the LED lens with silicone. 9. Terminate the LED string as done in Step Install the final LED Channel as done in Step Secure the bottoms of all the Front pieces that had screws left out to ease the installation process. 16 INSIDE CORNER FSCI NOTES: INSTLLTION INSTRUCTIONS FOR McDONLDS LED CNOPY FSCI Canopy Fascia layouts with Inside Corners (see detail) can be installed as normal for all sections EXCEPT those that include the Inside Corner. These sections MUST be installed from the corner outward. Inside Corners may or may not have their own power supply. Refer to the Site Specific Documents for power supply layout. INSTLLTION:. Starting at the Inside Corner, (Diagram ) align and secure the Backs to the trellis using unpainted #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws in the provided mounting holes. Install all Back pieces for all non-inside Corner sections, (Diagram, Sections 3 & 4) as normal and run primary power as required Starting at the Inside Corner, (Diagram B) align and secure the 2 mitered Front panels to the Back panels using yellow painted #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws in the precut mounting holes on the top ONLY. Be sure to align the mitered corner. 4. If necessary, install any other Front pieces needed to complete the Inside Corner sections, (Diagram B, Sections & 2). 5. Install all Front pieces for all non-inside Corner sections, (Diagram B, Sections 3 & 4) as normal 6. lign and mount any LED Channel Corner pieces using yellow painted #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws in the precut mounting holes (Diagram C). Use the inside edge of the preinstalled splices on the LED Channel Corner piece to align it to the Front Corner, (Photo 39). 7. Hold the mitered LED Channels for Sections & 2 in place with the miters of the LED Channels lined up with the miters of the Front pieces. Mark the LED Channel flush with the near edge of the LED Channel Corner (Diagram D, Sections & 2). Remove the LED Channel and cut with a saw (chop saw preferred). Be sure not to cut through any LED modules. 8. Secure any loose LEDs and install the mitered LED Channels using yellow painted #0 x 5/8 pan head self drilling screws in the precut mounting holes (Diagram E, Sections & 2). Starting with the screws closest to the miter first. 9. Install all LED Channels for all non-inside Corner sections, (Diagram E, Sections 3 & 4) as normal. 0. Each box will be marked with a label that includes a unique box number as well as the total number of boxes on the pallet. NOTE: Each Canopy Fascia location is uniquely boxed to reduce waste and shipping costs. This sometimes results in similar pieces being packaged in different boxes. If a box is missing contact Persona immediately. Be sure to have the Location, National Sales Number, and the Order Number information available. This information is located on a label placed on each end of the pallet. Missing Pieces? The Canopy Fascia is boxed per location. Look through all boxes of the pallet(s) and count each piece. Refer to the Site Specific Drawings (one per elevation) to determine if any pieces are missing. If any pieces are missing, determine if the missing piece(s) contained a UL label. This information is located on the Parts List of the Site Specific Drawings. UL Labeled Piece Missing UL labeled piece will be any part that has an electronic component. This will include all LED Channels and any Back with a power supply. UL labels are placed on the short flange of the LED Channel by the LEDs and by the cover of the Back with a power supply. ll UL labeled pieces are labeled with a part specific number dedicated to a Site Specific Drawing. Record which UL numbers are present. Contact Persona immediately with the UL information and the missing piece(s) description as well as the Location, National Sales Number, and the Order Number information found on a label placed on each end of the pallet. NOTE: Persona CNNOT send out replacement pieces without first receiving accurate UL information. Pictures of each label may be required.
