Project description General Information The University of Malta is interested in obtaining quotations for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of a CO2 incubator for the Department of Restorative Dentistry at the University of Malta, to upgrade its research facilities. 2. Project Background The Department of Restorative Dentistry within the Faculty of Dental Surgery at the University of Malta is seeking to enhance its research capability through the purchase of a CO2 incubator. 3. Technical Specifications A CO 2 incubator having the following specifications as a minimum:- CO 2 Range: 0-10% or more; CO 2 Variation: 0,2% or less; CO 2 Resolution on Display: 0,1%; Temperature resolution on display: 0,1; Temperature range minimum: 8 o C above ambient to 50 o C or more; Temperature variation with time: ±0.2 o C or less; Chamber volume: Minimum of 150L; Number of shelves: Minimum of three (3) shelves; Further equipped with:- Humidity control; Inner glass door; Oxygen control (including through accessories) with a minimum adjustment range of 1 to 20% 4. Literature Detailed supporting literature is to be supplied, both for:- the proposed instrument and; the applicable software; 1

4 5. Period of Execution Supply and delivery at the University of Malta at Msida MSD 2080 Malta to be effected within ten (10) weeks from Purchase Order date or earlier if possible. All items appearing in this document are required as expeditiously as possible and preference may be given to Bidders quoting a very short delivery period. 6. Payment Terms Payments shall be made in Euro at 60 days from invoice date. 7. Warranty The Contractor shall warrant that the supplies are new, unused, of the most recent models and incorporate all recent improvements in design and materials. The Contractor shall further warrant that none of the supplies have any defect arising from design, materials and workmanship. This warranty shall remain valid for three (3) years after provisional acceptance on parts and labour both for hardware and software as applicable 8. Spare Parts The successful tenderer shall warrant that spare parts for the system would be available for a period of not less than five (5) years after the supply and delivery and shall thereafter give notice to the University of Malta, prior to the discontinuation of production of the spare parts. 2

If within the binding period (Clause 2 (i) of attached conditions) you will not have received any order, you may assume that your quotation has not been accepted. 7 Terms and Conditions 1. The prices shall be quoted in Euro and shall be inclusive of VAT, and all other charges as applicable. 2. From the closing date fixed for the receipt of quotations: (i) (ii) Quotations submitted shall remain binding for a period of 30 days. Price quoted shall remain valid for a period of six months. 3. Any unsatisfactory service such as failure to meet commitments either partially or in their entirety or failure to deliver goods in time will be recorded in Suppliers Performance Records. 4. Successful bidders shall be bound to conform in all respects with VAT legislation and regulations. 5. The University of Malta is not bound to accept any quotation and shall not give reasons for the acceptance or rejection of any particular offer. 6. Prospective Suppliers are being informed that queries on this Call for Quotation Document and/or its contents, are only accepted up to five (5) days before the closing date on tenders.procurement@um.edu.mt and the University of Malta is bound to forward replies to these queries at the latest two (2) days before the closing date. No further clarifications will be provided after this date. 5
