1 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION : PASSIVE NIGHT SIGHT (PNS) FOR ASSAULT RIFLE 1. Ministry of Defence, Government of India is desirous of procuring Passive Night Sight for Multi Calibre Assault Rifle which is under process of procurement. With the view to identify probable vendors who can undertake the said project, OEMs/Vendors are requested to forward information on the product which they can offer. The parameters/broad specifications of the item are mentioned in the questionnaire attached as per Appendix 'A'. In addition the vendors are required to furnish details as per performa at Appendix 'B'. 2. The Passive Night Sight so desired by the Infantry should be a light weight and ruggedized Image Intensifier Technology based device to enable accurate engagement of pin point target by use of Multi Caliber Assault Rifle at night / hours of darkness / indoor dark areas. 3. Apart from the information as per the Appendices the vendors may also forward technical details/product brochures/literature etc pertaining to the item in question. 4. 3 3 Appendix 'A' QUESTIONNAIRE 1. Following Parameters / specifications of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM's) equipment is requested in the responses to our Request for Information:- Ser Question/Specification No (a) Technology. (g) Does the II Tube in the PNS have the facility of autogating, Automatic Brightness Control etc? If yes then please specify? (h) Please provide the details of Tube Resolution and System Resolution. (j) What is the System Gain? (k) What will be the Service Life of the II Tube and the PNS? (l) Provide the Mean Time Between Failures for the II Tube as well as the Passive Night Sight. (m) What are the various types of controls being provided for optimum utilization of the PNS? (n) Power Supply. What type of batteries being provided with the PNS? What is the battery life for continuous use of the PNS? Does the device enable its operation by use of commercially available AA batteries?. Reply
