2 What is RFID Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an automatic identification process, allowing user to do remote retrieving of data using devices called RFID tag and other RFID instructment. This systems help user to cut down manual tracking of items using tag and software. Thus reducing manual tracking errors and expensive man hour. This system also allows information to be transfer from one place to another without expensive remote network and information from each tags can be coded. Thus prevent unauthorized information been read. RFID Tag RFID tag is an object that are attached to, or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification using radio waves technologies. Chip-based RFID contain silicon chips and antennas. There are 2 types of tag commonly been used: Passive Tags require no internal power source, while Active Tags require a power source. Type of RFID There are many different types of RFID Technology. Namely LF (Low-Frequency), HF (High-Frequency), UHF (Ultra-High Frequency), Microwave and active (UHF), for the different requirements and needs, using various types of hardware, software applications. For example UHF, with a much longer reading distance usually meant for pallet and carton tracking, while HF with shorter reading distance, more for item tracking like in libraries, warehousing, laundry. Smart Warehousing using RFID Technoology Equipment used for Smart warehousing RFID Digital Warehousing consist of Warehousing application software, Long Range UHF RFID Reader, Wifi Communication and Receiver, Digital Forklift with UHF RFID reader & wi-fi with communication, Digital UHF RFID Long Range Smartshelfing, RFID Gate. Smart warehouse Goods and item are tagged and programed before receive to warehouse using software application as a tools to control stock item. Two types of tag are usually use. ( Re-cycle type, Disposable type ) Disposable Tag (Low range handheld) usually with barcode printing are stick onto smaller item. This tags are usually much lower in cost and able to combine tag and barcode as a solution. Recycle tag are much expensive tag usually design as a hanging tag are hang onto bigger item or embedded into the pallet itself ( digital pallet ). This tag are usually long range for distance reading.

3 RFID Gate RFID gate are place at all exit point within the warehousing. This prevent unautorize user to take out item without autorization. Digital Folklift ( RFID UHF & Wi-fi combination ) Each Folklift are place with a UHF RFID long range reader and each section of the warehouse are place with a wi-fi reciver. Long Range RFID reader on the folklift, reads the pallet or tag during pick-up, information and relate tag info back to the server through Wi-fi technology. Each wi-fi reciver will come with an ID number and each ID number will be map onto the warehouseing software with warehouse code or area name. RFID Security Gate RFID Smart Forklift Digital cargo pallets with Long Range RFID (UHF-915MHz) embedded tag pallet transfer information from this digital pallet to RFID Forklift. This information are than send back to the server through wi-fi technology. Each wi-fi receiver will have an id and the computer system will know where the Forklift collect and deliver each item ( within warehouse ). With this new RFID warehousing technology, warehousing cost will be much lower as compare to man-hour spend. With the RFID SmartShelf, each item on each pallet are written to each digital pallet. Each time when a user request for stock take, UHF RFID will send information back to the server. With special application software user can perform stock check without physically needing to going to each shelf to check each item. This way stock check can be perform regularly and owner will have better control over their stock and property. RFID UHF Long Range Reader With PDA Using windows CE Wi-fi, GSM Commuication RFID Technology with the combination of Electronic tagging, RFID readers, wireless network( wi-fi ) and application software.
