Increased concern about Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs), their prevention, control and management have fueled the demand for single-use products. The governments in developed countries are encouraging the use of disposable hospital supplies in order to contain the healthcare costs incurred in treating HAIs. This trend has also resulted in increased adoption of single-use syringes and needles across the world. The growing level of concern about HAIs is driving the sterilization and disinfectant market as well. Factors such as an increase in the percentage of elderly people in the population, improvements in healthcare infrastructure, government initiatives in emerging countries to provide better healthcare facilities, technological advances such as the introduction of specialized operating room tables, Light- Emitting Diode (LED) lights for operating rooms, pre-filled syringes, plastic syringes, single-use syringes, and digital thermometers are also expected to drive the hospital supplies market s growth.
