6 AUTOMATION TRAINING Airline s automation training classes are designed to provide students with the knowledge and experience required to meet the demands of today s technological workplace. By empowering employees with the crucial knowledge necessary to maintain competitiveness in the marketplace, the return on investment is immediate. Our instructors have over 20 years of factory automation experience, making the learning experience tangible through application examples and hands-on training. Our classes are normally taught at Airline s facilities, but arrangements can be made with our training group to have standard or specially designed courses held at your facility. Individual course descriptions follow. Regularly scheduled classes include Basic PLC Programming and Troubleshooting (E2) and Advanced PLC Programming (E4). In addition, Airline offers the following classes upon request: Sensor Workshop (E1), Introduction to Operator Interface Programming (E5), Stepper and Servo Motor Basics (E6), DeviceNet Training (E7), Industrial Networking (E8) and Oriental Motor Indexer Training (E11). BASIC PLC PROGRAMMING AND TROUBLESHOOTING (E2) Designed for the beginner with no previous experience, this class will cover basic programming steps, advanced functions and the student will gain insight into the cause and effect of machines being controlled by PLCs. Whether you wish to replace hard wired relay and timer systems, or you require shift registers, math functions and data manipulation, you will benefit from this course. You will get hands-on programming experience with the Omron CP1 programmable controller...a high powered PLC in a small package. Students will program utilizing Omron CX Programmer software. The second day, which is optional, will be an application workshop providing the student with an opportunity to work on real-world PLC programming problems. Bring a laptop computer, if possible. This two day course will familiarize you with the configuration software and applications of the Omron CP1H. All attendees will receive a workbook, an applications lab manual and an operation manual. Upon completion of this course, you will understand local and remote input/output, memory areas, configuring, special functions and programming techniques. 8 PNEUMATIC TRAINING INTRODUCTION TO PNEUMATICS (P1) This course is designed to give the student knowledge of a basic pneumatic system, starting with the air compressor, dryer, filter-regulator-lubricator and ending with the actuator. The course will stress the importance of good filtration and lubrication before introducing the air to the valves that make up the control system. The second day of class includes hands-on training using a pneumatic training panel. Perfect as a review for you, your employees, or for new employees looking for an understanding of pneumatic systems. 9 HYDRAULIC TRAINING Airline s hydraulic training classes are a great benefit to assembly personnel, engineers, purchasing agents, technicians, maintenance personnel and new employees in the industrial and mobile fluid power industries. These courses will allow the student to be more productive in their jobs and more informed about the equipment they repair, produce or operate. Our instructors have worked in the fluid power industry for many years. They have at their disposal excellent training materials and study references for the students to use, as well as visual aids, component cutaways and hands-on systems. Our classes are normally taught at Airline s facilities, but arrangements can be made with our training group to have standard or specially designed courses held at your facility. INDUSTRIAL HYDRAULIC TRAINING (H1) The Basic Industrial Hydraulic Course deals with the physical principles of force, pressure, and fluid flows. The relationship of these principles to the components and systems that power today's industrial machinery is introduced. The primary discussions will center on component function, symbology and basic circuitry of a hydraulic system. The manual used is one of the clearest, best written books in the industry. Instruction is supplemented with component cutaways. You will learn the benefits of proactive maintenance, system safety and basic troubleshooting of hydraulic systems. Major topics include: Hydraulic principles Actuators - cylinders, motors, rotary actuators Valves - directional, flow, pressure control Pumps Fluid selection 9

Lunch is provided. HYDRAULIC TROUBLESHOOTING (H2) The Hydraulic Troubleshooting Course is designed to train people working with hydraulic systems how to diagnose problems. This course will also delve into the proper installation of components and fluid conductors. Emphasis on preventive maintenance will show how to reduce the amount of troubleshooting required. We will work with schematics and cutaways of components. You will learn the proper steps to quickly analyze and pinpoint where a problem is centered and how to fix it. Major topics include: System schematics Installation of components and conductors Fluid analysis Preventative maintenance Troubleshooting - actuators, valves and pumps System safety Class times and locations will be scheduled on an as-needed basis. 13 REGISTRATION PROCEDURES Call our training coordinator, Hollie Garrison at (215) Ext. 2819, or Duplicate, complete and return the registration form on the following page to Hollie to fax to (215) mail to: Airline, 3557 Progress Dr., Bensalem, PA Registration can also be completed online at Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive confirmation of your enrollment. If requested, hotel information and directions will be provided at this time. Registration closes one week prior to the start of each class. Each class requires a minimum of four students. If this number is not reached one week prior to the class date, Airline will notify all who have registered that the class has been cancelled. REGISTRATION FOR BOSCH REXROTH HYDRAULICS TRAINING PAYMENT INFORMATION For scheduled classes: Payment can be made in the form of a check (payable to Airline ) or credit card. Company purchase orders will also be accepted from customers with an open line of credit. Payment must be submitted one week in advance of the first day of class. Billing will be processed at the time of the class. Cancellation fee: Please notify us as soon as possible if you must cancel your registration for any class. There is no cancellation fee if we are given at least one week s advance notice of any cancelled registration. If a registrant cancels their registration later than one week in advance of the class starting date, a $100 fee will be assessed, but this fee may be used toward registration for another class. Registration fees may be transferred to another person at no charge. For unscheduled classes: For a portion of our course offering, a class date will not be scheduled until we have a minimum number of registrants. In this case, payment is not due until the class date has been set and the registrant has been notified and agrees to attend. As an authorized distributor for Bosch Rexroth, Airline is proud to include their hydraulic training classes among our course offerings. Registrations must be received at least 2 weeks in advance of the class date. Payment in full must accompany the registration. Checks or purchase orders should be made payable to Airline. Please note that this payment is nonrefundable if registration is cancelled after 2 weeks prior to the start date of the class, however it can be applied to another Bosch Rexroth hydraulic class. 13
